Sounded like hell, tweek tweek tweek, HEY! Sounding pretty good now! Crackle Crackle, Old Lady Flatulence, Crackle Crackle, DONE!!
This thing is a roach and I'm a sucker for thinking I was getting a sick deal on a "discontinued" combo for $329.00.

The last thing Vox wants is me on the phone right now.
The company I purchased it from is providing excellent service and eventually I'll get a refund including freight charges.

I've been playing for 30 years and have owned a pile of amps. It has been at least 15 years since I bought something other than an all tube amp. Should have left it that way.
Seriously kids, save up and buy a tube combo, throw a pedal in front of it and put an MXR 108 EQ in the effects loop. It will last you a lifetime.

My amp was built in 2008 and i bought it brand new out of the box as i had a bit of money and decided to treat myself.
This model is the VTXL so is heavy rock/metal orientated with a valve pre-amp. It has two channels clean/overdrive with programmeable effects for each channel. It has a large bank of effects which are all adjustable which is great considering the crap you get on some of these amps with built in stuff. There is a headphone jack too.
I play in a rock cover band playing in pubs etc so this is easily loud enough for my needs with plenty of power on tap. There is apower switch on this model so you can still get the maximum out of the overdrive but at low volumes.

I use a home made strat style guitar fitted with Iron gear humbuckers, i really like these pick ups, the amp compliments what i'm playing really well as most of it is using overdrive with a bit of clean too, the overdrive channels can be compressed so you can keep the noise down but i have'nt completely got my head round this bit yet.
Now i've been through about six amps looking for the right sound for me and i think i'm finally there with this one, i've tried a couple of valve amps and a Marshall DFX100 before that and a line 6 both of which were rubbish. This amp really has hit the nail on the head for me, it is pretty simple to het your head around the programming and the tones are spot on. There are only two clean programs in the bank with the rest being overdrive of one kind or another with names like 'molten' and 'damaged'... they all sound amazing but like has been mentioned here before you need a graphic in the effects loop as it's all a bit muffled until you put some treble on it.

On the first roll out this amp did let me down with a loose input socket, it went back to Korg who took 4 weeks to sort it out!!! ... but i've had no trouble since.

I've been playing for about 15 years now but mainly acoustic having taken up playing rythm and lead in the last couple of years, i'm really chuffed with this amp now and the more i use it the better it gets, the footswitch could do with lights on it for switching between channels and it would be great if you could have a few more presets.
I believe Vox have stopped making this amp now so it's only had a short exposure nut i'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for heavy rock style tones.

What guitar and pickup styles are you using it with? Gibson Les Paul Classic
How does it suit your music style (and what is that style)? Metal; the heavier the better.
Is it noisy? On what settings, and in what environments?
What kind of sounds can the amp make? How much variety? The key to drawing out all this amp has to offer is to run a graphic equalizer through the effects loop. This makes all the difference!
Is the clean channel distorted at high volumes? In what settings?
How brutal is the distortion? Unreal. Best I have ever heard.
