Basically, WGS's take on the Celestion V30, with an attempt to cut some of the upper mids.

Sound Quality : 4
The Vet 30 would score much higher, if it weren't for the following - terrible cone cry and edge yowl when used in a 1X12 configuration. The main amps being used are a JCM800 combo with 6V6's, pushing roughly 20 watts, and a custom personal build - a TrainWreck Express type preamp into a Tweed Deluxe power section (roughly 15 watts). If WGS stated that the Vet was to be used only in a 2X12 or 4X12 setup, I'd have no beef. But the thin cone with the over-efficient design that plagues most V30 clones also applies here.

Reliability : 3
Once again, the Vet would score higher, but there are three things with mine that are VERY worrisome. First, the doping was not evenly applied - there is a streak through the middle of it on one side, where it looks like something brushed through it. Second, when I removed it from one cab to try in another, there is now clearly a ding in the cone in the transition from the surround to the cone proper, where the dope ends. This wasn't there when I installed it, and I know that I didn't hit anything istalling or removing, and torqued it down evenly. This occurred during operation. Third, the gaskets on both top and bottom were haphazardly attached, making it a bit of a pain to get the speaker secured properly. I haven't contacted WGS, but it seems pointless, since they would probably deem at least one of these issues to be customer abuse. I know that you typically get what you pay for - I guess that's the case here.

I haven't contacted WGS, but it seems pointless, since they would probably deem at least one of these issues to be customer abuse. I know that you typically get what you pay for - I guess that's the case here. In hindsight, I probably should have tried the Green Beret, since the smaller magnet would have given the speaker a fighting chance in a 1X12 setup. Also, I'm kind of irritated by the low price vs. exorbitant shipping amount. It actually made this speaker seem like a better deal prior to purchase. Lastly, I'm a little annoyed by the fact that the speaker states that it's assembled in the U.S. I don't really care where in the world something is made, but WGS seems to be a little misleading with this. I have an excellent Chinese Celestion and Italian Jensen - so I think that WGS should be a little more clear that they are just assembling these things, and not manufacturing the individual components.

Overall Rating : 2
I've been playing for over 30 years, and have owned plenty of amps. I also modify existing tube amps, and build my own. Even being quite an amp nerd, I'm not typically a cork sniffer by any stretch - I tend to favor run-of-the-mill caps, tubes, transformers, and even speakers. But this first WGS purchase will probably be my last.

I bought Four 12" Classic Lead 8ohm 80W speakers from Warehouse Guitar Speakers on ebay Flawless build ; Frame and cone look perfect I put those baby on a Marshall MG Cab for replacement of the cheap Celestion inside .

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a Jackson RR30 with an EMG H3A With a Randall Rh50T head I love the sound of my rig those speakers Rock!!! the bass is tight and focus mid is not as present as on the Vintage 30 but it's the thing i like the most in those speakers. high is clear but not harsh to the ears. Clean sound is warm but i don't play much clean so.....Randall amps are know for their brutal distortion and these speakers can handle it without any problem i play mostly 80's heavy and thrash and these speakers give me the tone i want. I have a combo with a Celestion Classic lead and i don't hear a difference between the speakers from Celestion and the WGS speakers.

Reliability : No Opinion
i have it for about a year i gig with friend just for the fun of it but i will use it in concert without any fear the construction and quality of the speaker is identical to the Celestion classic lead

Customer Support : No Opinion
i never have to use the consumer support so i don't have an opinion

Overall Rating : 10
4 x 12" who sound like the Classic lead from Celestion for more than half the price i dont regret my choice sound great feel great i love my speakers

designed as the infamous Vintage 30 clone! As far as quality it's as solid as the V30 itself.

Sound Quality : 10
This speaker sounds fantastic. No harshness on the mids like the V30s but you do lose a little bass. No biggie, it sounds just as good without the high price tag. A great bargain for 50 bucks! I can hardly wait for the "Reaper" to come out! I will certainly order one and have it matched along with my Veteran 30.

Reliability : 10
No problems at all. Solid as a rock after 3 months of usage.

Fantastic sounding speaker! Definitely competes and rivals most brands out there. I don't think you can get it much cheaper than this!

two 12inch veteran 30 16ohm speakers by guitarwarehousespeakers on top .Inside a cheap 4x12 ibanez cab.

Sound Quality : 9
I play alot of death, speed and hardcore metal with a boss metalzone into a cleanchannel 100watt solidstate Ibanez toneblasterhead. The veteran30s can take alot of distortion and bass and have a smooth scooped midrange.Sounds just as good as celestion vintage 30s.The celestions have a little more bass but who cares when the whole band is playing onstage you cant even notice the difference.I love the clarity and tone these speakers put out.For only 50 bucks each they blow away Jensen and eminence stuff.Trust me Ive played every type of speaker and these are brutal!!!

Reliability : 9
Ive crancked these for the past 10 gigs and they have never cutout or blown.Awesome quality for 50 bucks.

This speaker rocks. Let's forget it costs half what the Celestion Vintage 30, which it is compared to. It made my Carvin Vintage 33 amp sound like a new amp. I have a custom Strat type guitar and I play mostly Blues and Rock, some Country. It has improved the overall tone of an otherwise great sounding amp, adding a mellowing to the highs and great mids as well.

Sound Quality : 10
Originally my Carvin Vintage 33 was a bit shrill at loud volumes, but this speaker seriously mellowed out the tone. I gave another WGS to a friend who put it into his Fender Blues Deluxe and it was like night and day.

Reliability : No Opinion
Just bought it, so I have no opinion here...

Likewise.

I've been playing 35 years, gigging steadily for about 20, and this is the best my amp has ever sounded. And these speakers cost around $70.00 less than a new Celestion Vintage 30, (on line at roughly $50.00 plus shipping). I'm way sold on them, so is my friend. Check these guys out online at Warehouse Guitar Speakers. You might be surprised what you get for such a low price.
