one channel amp with master volume, volume, gain. bass, mid ,treble. reverb,chorus.60 watt 2-10" speaker combo solide state. effects loop/ headphone jack/ footswitch for reverb on the back of amp. built in 1987 , purchased used 1998.

Sound Quality : 8
use a fender usa tele, albarran strat/tele mix, 70's ibanez les paul,1965 silvertone semi-hollowbody. very solid rock overdrive, one of the better distortion sounds i've heard from a solid state amp. good clean sound that doesn't break up early. when i add my mxr 10-band equalizer and give it a more treble, it sounds a lot like a fender twin while playing clean. doesn't do well with distortion boxes, fine for most other effects. chorus is unimpressive. reverb is nice has springs.

Reliability : 10
not one major problem in 11 years. scratchy volume pot which i had replaced. i think it'll go another 20 years no problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
don't know... they didn't make amps very long. if it died..it would give me a justifiable reason to get a tube amp.

Overall Rating : 9
been playing 20 years. owned many amps, tube and solid state. i paid $125 in 1998. love this amp, and cannot figure out why based on this model washburn's amps didn't sell. a lot of amps look cooler, but few solid state and newer chinese made ****-box tube amps sound better for under 125 dollars than this.

60 W Combo Solid State with built in overdrive, reverb, and chorus. One channel including pre-amp volume, dry to wet overdrive, and master volume for the output. Headphones, line out, overdrive defeat, reverb defeat, chorus defeat, in/out loops. I use it mostly for warm and dark tones which can sound like such artists as U2, Janes Addiction, the Choir, etc... At 60 watts, this amp is powered enough to practice with a full band setup. With a speaker and PA, you can easily play at any small to mid-sized club. Made c. 1987

Sound Quality : 9
I use a Fender Strat through the amp producing a nice classic warm fender tone. The overdrive is very warm producing a nice wave distortion sounds good enough for blues, rock, alternative, jazz. This is , however, not a metal nor punk amp! Being a one channel amp, switching from wet to dry on the overdrive poses a problem since you would probably want to have to pre-amp volume on 10 to have the sweetest overdrive sound possible. Therefore, when switching back to dry, the clean side of the channel produces natural unwanted distortion. Also, the amp produces a low hum at certain volume levels. Both the chorus and reverb are fairly undesirable but the overdrive is definitely versatile.

Reliability : 10
So far it has never broken down on me except it did have a design flaw from the very beginning (before fixing it) in which the circuitry was grounding a lot of the signal out. The reverb springs are worn out and need replacing but I use an alesis rack-mount system instead of the built in reverb.

Washburn doesn't make amps anymore and they just didn't make a lot of them to begin with. Would they help me...I doubt it.

I've been playing for 9+ years and I've used this amp the longest out of any others I currently own or haved owned. Gear I use with it includes a BOSS compressor, Alesis Microverb III, Dunlop Wah, and Fender guitars. This amp plays well at low and high levels and is a great practice amp. It has some Vox AC-30 qualities to it. Currently, I'm looking for a class A tube amp like a Vox AC-30 or 50 with a little more power and cleaner sound. But, at $100, don't pass it up if you're looking for a versatile practice amp.
