I wrote the first review for this amp a few years ago and I havething more to report. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but over the part few years i became very frustrated with my amp because it lacked bass and when i tried turing it up past a certain point, it gave me this horrible farty distortion. So in an act of desperation, I opened the sucker up. i took out the speakers and took a look at them and saw that the cones of both speakers was coming off on the edges and there were some very small cracks. Since i was some what poor at the time, I used a glue gun to fix this problem. Then i put the speakers back in, but i forgot which way the wires hooked the speakers to each other. So I tried one way and it sounded like it usually did. Then, just out of curiosity i switched them and POW! No the speakers did not blow up, all the bass and warmth my amp was missing appeared. It was like a new amp! I don't know if it happened at the company or if the previous owner was screwing around with it, but someone had wired the speakers out of phase. Now my amp is as warm as any fender tube amp i've played and has enough volume to compete with my friends Fender Roc Pro half stack. It also sounds much cleaner at low volumes. If any of you have similar issues with your amp, try this out. The wires should cross each other if they are in right.

It's 100 watts, two channel, two inputs, seperate eq's, foot switch. I bought this amp from a local music store in 1980. The first channel is the distorted channel, and when I first got it I thought it sounded great, but after time and listening to better distortion I must admit that this channel is not very good. Just a thin, no character sound. Channel 2 is the clear channel and this is where I think this unit is outstanding. It is a rich, full, big sound. I just love the way it sounds.

I am not a real guitar freak, I only own 2 electrics, one old japanese SG copy (sakura) and a Peavey Pedator. I recently bought a Boss ME-30 and I must admit that running it thru my clear channel of my Westbury, the thing just sounds great. It seems to handle different types of sounds well. I also think that it sounds good at loud volumes, but it does seem to be a little noisy if the grounding is a little shakey. Also, Just don't use the distorted channel.

Playing way to loud the second day I had it I popped a coil. Other than that, It has been without problems.

I've been playing guitar since 1981, I have never been in a band, so my playing style is probably a little odd. Maybe I haven't been exposed to a lot of amps, but I just love my Westbury. I don't know what I would do if I lost this amp, because I think it would be difficult to replace. If you have a chance to get one, I would recommend the amp highly, just don't bother with the distortion channel.

Good blues amp. 2 chanell amplifier that is set up like nothing I have ever seen it has chanell 1 only jack then it has 1+2 jack then it has 2 I plug into the 1+2 (no reason why). It has the compacity to change effects, but since the company no longer exsists I couldn't get the original so I have to use two swithches to get the chanell and reverb deal. It's a very plain amp but it works all I was looking for was a good clean amp and thats what it does. Distortion is very shitty. I don't think its 100watts I personally think its more like 80watts into 2 12" speakers (reason it sounds like shit turned up) Its a solid state amp that only sound good when its not cranked

I use 2 guitars a epiphone LP custom and a rare ibanez custom 570R (it looks like a S series guitar if you know let me know it was only available in a blueburt type finish) I'm a humbucker freak but the ibanez has to single coils in it wich I don't use. I like bassy heavy stuff if it don't have bite I hate it. In a bad ground situation it make growling noises I have yet to understant because it only does it at my friends house. Lets just say it only sounds really good on the clean chanell turned to further than 3-4 with your preamp on 1/2-3/4 way up. No louder! Distortion sucks, it's bad, I mean its the worst I have ever heard out of an amp, and its supposed to sound that way?

I don't gig it I like it to much so if your lucky to have one don't gig it, it would servive but why kill an amp that is becoming so rare. I have had it die only once because I plugged into a socket that was controlled by a light switch and some tard gave it a surge that killed the power transformer-an $80 fix. But I wouldn't gig with it unless I had an amp case.

It's old I like the look of old and its in good condition. I also own a digitech rp-14 and the 2 other guitars up above. If it were stollen or loss I couldn't do a thing so I would be pissed. I love the sound of the clean. HAte the sound of the distortion and the crackling that comes with bad grounds. I only wish it was tube. It's a good find and I have only met one other person that has had one, but he was old:)

100 watt solid state, two channels, spring reverb, two inputs, seperate EQ for each channel, line out, ext. speaker jack, ch. and reverb footswitch controllable. Good features. The 1st channel EQ only has Hi and Low and sounds thin, it also has a pre and post volume that do nothing. The best feature on this thing is probably the pull highs ( kinda' like a bright switch). Sound is versatile. I play everything from Rock to old Motown and it fits it all.

i'm using a fender contemporary strat. and a Boss ME-30. THe tone is great on this thing IF you use the second channel or both. The first channel sounds really thin and doesn't have as much volume as the second. The second channel is great though. It's a nice warm tone and when the pull highs are on it's a dream with a beautiful trebly tone. I do have a problem with an attack of crackling coming out of no where!. That might be because of the previous owners. I'm not sure. It usually isn't a problem.

I have gigged with it and it's my only amp at the moment. The crackling has convinced me to get another amp as a replacement more than a backup. I'm going to get a Vox Pathfinder and hook it up to the Westbury's speakers through a splitter to get more volume out of the vox. Then I'll A/B between amps so if I have a problem with the Westbury I can switch.

The company doesn't exist anymore so I doubt I will be hearing from them anymore. The company's name was Unicord and they owned Univox and Korg in the 70's till going under in 1981.aybe Korg can help me I doubt it though.

It was a 10 when I got it and I loved it, but I think the old girl needs some work before she'll get back to where she was. I'm looking forward to trying the Pathfinder with it though.
