I've got the big brother of this combo: the 212. Had it since new circa 1981. This beast is heavy, 45kg. It still has the original 4 output valves, Gold Lion KT77, which were a millitary grade EL34. White Amplification, the manufacturers, rated this amp at 150w and i believe them! As mentioned in another review, it's a single channel amp without fancy bits just fantastic tone.It has 2 gains + master volume + a switchable extra boost via another 12ax7.Altogether there are 5 pre-amp valves, one of which is an ECC81 and i believe this is for the reverb. The 3 main pre-amp 12ax7's were replaced recently, andnow it really ROCKS

I use a custom made Flying V with a Di Marzio DualSound humbucker at bridge and Gibson Super Distortion at neck + Tube Screamer for soloing. I also use a Gibson SG Special with P90,s. The amp is pretty quiet with Humbuckers, but obviously some noise with P90's. The distortion can be a bit terryfying but backing off the gains to '8' and also the 'V's volume control brings things down to a gorgeous crunch that Marshall can only dream of! However its easy to get any type of distortion by swapping input valves, although they're a bit more expensive in UK at around #12 each ($20?)

Never had a service, although i'm planning one this summer. One or two niggles when i first got it (1981) but it sat idle for 15 years but fired up without a wimper.

Threr is no customer support any more. In fact their early amps, called 'White' were fashioned on 'Orange' but had black and white cabinets instead of orange and white. But as its almost entirely hand wired (only some power caps etc are on a small board), everything is a piece of cake to get to.

Overall Rating : 9
This has been a fantastic amp. I likened it at the time to a Burman (i didn't know about Boogies then), but, as i doubt if i would ever find another Little Rock then i would probably go for a Laney should anything happen. Overall, this amp is brilliant, but just wish, for my back's sake that it wasn't so hamn heavy!

I don't know when this was made - the guy I bought it from suggested late 70s early 80s. He said that White Amplification was well known around then, and that the Little Rock was their attempt to take on Mesa Boogie. It's a handwired all valve combo, finished in fender-o-like tweed and with a single 12 inch celestion speaker.

It has a single channel, with 3 band EQ, two gain knobs and a master. There's a built in reverb, accessed from the rear, but it doesn't seem to work on my model - one day I'll get it looked at. The only other features are a boost switch (with a footswitch) and a 'bright' switch which increases the presence. There's no effects loop.
In other words it's as simple as I could want - everything is down to the basic sound. I use a variety of pedals in front of it when I need to - for example a Route 66 overdrive/compressor, which gives me the effect of two channels. But mostly I just like to play straight, tweaking the knobs for each number.
I rate it 2 for features, but then that's not what I'm looking for.

I play blues mostly - old style, Chicago, etc. This sounds great with any of my guitars, single coils and humbuckers. The tele sounds wonderful with the treble rolled back, and my old Harmony meteor is made for an amp like this. It's good and beefy, and can be clean or dirty. It's too loud to turn up full in the flat I live in, but stays clean up to 8 on dial. I'm yet to try it live, and I'm sure it'll be great ( a bit heavy to move about over long distances though...). It's a perfect sound for me.

Reliability : No Opinion
well, it's obviously old. What can I say - It's been retubed just before I bought it - about a month ago, and so far it's going well. No reason to doubt that it's not going to keep on working for a while

Customer Support : No Opinion
Can't find anything about White amplification - they're no longer in business I think (used to be in Sunderland)

Love it. Prefer it to the Peavey Claasic 30 or 50, which I was also tempted by. I'd like it to be 20 pounds lighter, but that's just me getting old
