This is an all-tube Mesa Boogie clone made by Frank at Custom Music in Adelaide, South Australia (hence it's a Mesa Boogie...Woogie - I just had to say that). I'm not sure when mine was produced - mid 90s? I do 60s/70s pop/rock/blues and a little country; this amp is best suited to the rock/blues material I do. It is covered in white Tolex. It has two channels (foot-switchable), an effects loop and spring reverb (also foot-switchable). The controls are much the same as the Mesa MkII (EG Vol/Master Vol/Lead/Master Lead/etc) without the EQ sliders. There's a separate standby switch and a 60/100w selector, as well as 4ohm/8ohm selection controls. It certainly has no fewer features than most models of this genre amp.

Sound Quality : 9
I've spent a lot of time with my Godin SD on this amp but I've also put my Strat Plus, Nashville and American Standard Teles, and Godin Radiator through it; all have produced the particular sounds I was after. When I spoke to Frank (the builder) over the phone, he was mostly pleased with the clean sound. The clean is good, but I think the OD sound is tops! I get a thick, creamy, sustained lead tone that puts Hendricks and and Clapton (w/Cream) to mind. It's available at all volume levels and I find myself using it even in music styles where it doesn't belong. I love it! It doesn't have the gut-busting presence of my Fender Twin, but then it's half The Twin's size. Clean tones are very like my Blues Junior, only louder.

Reliability : 10
I bought this used and it has a knick or two on it - with me, it hasn't missed a lick.

Customer Support : 10
I did a little Internet research and came up with Frank's phone number - he was happy to speak with me and offered good advice. He is happy to take these units back for maintenance and upgrading (for the right $, of course). I don't know what else he could offer.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing guitar since about 1969 - but I didn't get serious about it for the first dozen or so years. I have a small collection of about three dozen instruments and a dozen or so amps including Martin, Fender, Ovation, Washburn, Marshall, Epiphone, Park, etal. I'd definitely look for another Woogie to replace this if it were lost. Frank (or somebody) used one of the effect loop socket holes in which to mount the reverb control knob; so now there's no effects loop - bummer!
