Woogie 100/60 watt all valve head. 2 channel, master and preamp volume. 3 band eq and presence control, not much else, pretty simple. hasn't got an effects loop which is the only thing i would consider adding.

Sound Quality : 8
great sounding amp. Im running an epi firebird into the amp into a 4x12 marshall straight cab with 4x 25 watt reissue greenbacks.
I havent really cranked the amp above about 4 on the master volume, but im sure its sounds nicer and nicer as the greenbacks start working. At bedroom volume clean is ok (some hum...prob bad house wiring), distortion channel is great too, really screams. I find that the best feature is the eq, you can really get a wide range of sounds from the amp. My only problem with the amp is that its too bassy for my tastes, but i just back off the bass on the eq and its fine. ive only tried the amp with the firebird and a strat, they both sound great.

Reliability : 9
never broken down, owned 6 months, gets pretty hot but so do all valve amps.

talked to frank on phone, hes happy to help or give advice.

Overall Rating : 10
been playing 2 years, i own a vox ad60vt also which is good for carting around. i really like this amp, ive heard amps sound better and ive heard worse (to my taste). Im not claiming to be a tone expert nor would i want to be (what a wank), you either like it or you dont and i like this amp. its loud, looks cool,has no unnecessary features, sounds cool and cost $500 AUD second hand (but like new). try getting an amp of this quality for that price from a major manufacturer. im not complaining

my amp was made in 1995, it's a two channel( clean and dirty),I run it into a Marshall 1960A box. It's great for playing live but a bit to much to record with

Sound Quality : 7
I use a 1980 Gibson Les Paul Custom and a 1964 Epiphone Whilshire. It can get alittle noisy when turned up. My amp sounds great cause I have taken a lot of time with Frank who makes them and worked out a good set up. I have play about 10 other woogie amps and none sound as good as mine. The clean channel sounds pretty clean at high volume but the distortion lets the amp down, cause its got balls but for leads it doesn't have the punch to cut it.

Reliability : 9
I've used my amp flat out playing live for 10 years now and I've only had a few things go wrong with it. Just like any amp you have to change the tubes every year or two.My amp has been trashed cuase its been put on planes, trains, bus, van and in the boot of cars but I always know when I turn it on it will sound great.

Customer Support : 10
Frank at Custom Music has always fixed my amp on the spot at a very low price.

Before I say anything, I have to warn everyone that I am completely biased towards this amp. Yes, I am one of those suckers that reads all the product 'reviews' and buys according to other peoples opinions, and yes I bit my bottom lip once I parted with my cash, but I can assuringly say that NO-ONE will be disappointed with a Woogie Amp, ever. I really mean, EVER.

My Woogie-'stein' beast was braught to this earth early 2005. It's a 2 Channel, all Valve (4 big ones, 3 pre-amps), single input, 60 to 100 Watt selectable Power House. Im running it through a second-hand 4x12 slanted 'Eminence' cabinet.

Front dials include;

2 dials per channel (Im guessing Volume and pre-amp/gain Controls), Bass/Middle/Treble and Presence dials.

Thats it! Kinda like a Marshall JCM800, but with an extra channel and two more 'big' valves.

Rear 'bits' include;

Speaker output,
Extension speaker output,
4-8 Ohm selector switch,
Boost control (Handy little extra. I'll explain in 'sounds' section),
Foot switch jack.

What its doesn't have (Check Customers Support comments in relation this);

Seperate effects loop/input,
Reverb,
Headphone jack,
a horse.

Yes, all those looking for a horse, you wont it here. Just balls, an endless supply of balls.

-I rate 8. Why? Because Im a realist and Im sure some people are huffing due to the things that this amp doesn't have. Like I said, read the Customer Support Section-

This is my set-up;

Epiphone G-400,
Two standard Epiphone pickups (About to install Gibson-Angus Young Bridge, and Gibson Classic '57 neck pickups, woo-hoo!),
Ernie Ball Super Slinky .009-.042 Gauge strings,
Jim Dunlop 3.0mm 'Big Stubby' pick.

I play;

AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Cold Chisel, Cold play, Deep Purple ,Metallica, U2, [Insert any other popular band that you like here]... well... all the great rock songs that I can get my hands around. I've been playing for 12 years, untaught. So probably comparable to a few months for a taught guitarist, he he (I hope not!). I've play through most amps, bar Mesa-Boogie($$$).

Straight up, I get the 60hz amp humms. Thats because my pickups came custom fitted with it. The crowd goes off when the music stops, and Epiphone realises this. Thats why they install it into every quality pickup that they produce, just for you, for free. Hence the pickup change I am aquiring.

Among other things, I like to call this amp Thor, because it likes to Raw! Its loud, and thats what its made for. Yes, there's that 60Watt switch, but it doesn't do much to take the snarl out of this amp. I used it as a marketing strong-point when I took the Minister of War and Finance into Franky's store, for the offical debate of justification. Need I say? I won.

The sound range of the two channels ('Get out of my face clean', and 'What the hell did you say!? Snarl') are best described like this; Clean starts at 'clean', and finishes where the second channel starts.
Aww! it just gets better from there. Quick, everyone make Tim Allen grunting noises with me!

The dynamic control of the Bass/Middle/Treble and Presence is something that leaves other manufacturers to desire. You move them a little, you get a little. Move them alot, you get alot. You have ultimate control.

Taking onboard all of adjusment possibilities, I think it's best said that you will find every brand of amp inside, every conceivable sound -taking into account nil reverb- inside this amp (I cant comment on Mesa-Boogie, but Franky tells me its in there).

Looking for that creamy/fuzzed 'Jimmy Hendrix Experience', Red House rhythm guitar sound? You got it! Want to tear down your living room walls, or blast through the stage drop-down video backing screen aka Angus Young style? You can do that. Wanna give James and Kirk a run for their money? Well, Im not going there, but if you could play as good as them then Im sure if you close your eye's... it'll be there. Want your own sound? Go ahead! This amp will take you to the depths and highs, with control.

This really is Frankys passion, his 'legacy'. Remember this; it is 'hand made', not production line assembled. Someone has actually taken the time to craft every single part of this kit, so it has been constructed with care and passion. Those come without a price-tag.

Bottom line? Fiddle with the settings. You'll find your sound. It's all there. Oh, and that eminence cabinet? Perfect.. Clear and crisp.

Reliability : No Opinion
Nope, can't give my 50 cents here. I haven't had the amp long enough. I did get a 12 month warranty, but Franky looked me straight in the eye's and said, "You wont be back, no one ever comes back". You dont argue with people who know their products.

Customer Support : 10
Personal is the word. Franky will look after you.

Amp doesn't have the features your looking for? Talk to Franky, he will put it there. Sound not to your taste? Ask franky, he'll fix it for you. You will be satisfied. Remember, I said that no-one would be disappointed, EVER.

Overall Rating : 10
People, for the price-tag hung around this amp, and taking into account that it's hand made, it'd be worth having one sent to you regardless where on this planet you live.

It may also be worth noting that Franky, of Custom Music - Torrensville/South Australia, is computer illiterate. You will not find his shop, or his amps, on the web. Here are his details;

Custom Music Centre, 185 Henley Beach Road, Torrensville, South Australia. BP; 0883526648, MP; 0417832563

One more point: I am only a customer of the Custom Music Center, nothing more. I do not get special 'deals', or commisions or anything from Franky for any of these words. I dont even get a free can of coke. Imagine that! These words are purely my interpretation/opinion of the Woogie 60/100 Amp, and a way of expressing how cool I think this thing really is. Thankyou.
