Made about 1973 or 1974 (I bought new). Early valve emulation technology with Horizontal Field Effect transistors - to emphasise even order harmonics. 2 channels each with bass mid treble and brightness. Each channel has 2 inputs - one high gain and one low gain. Channel one also has Accutronics reverb and rotary. distortion/gain control both with footswitches. 100W RMS rating. 2 custom Yamaha 12 speakers. Strong cabinet with chrome steel reinforced corners

Sound Quality : 7
Sounds clean and full. The Accutronics reverb is beautiful. The distortion is a matter of taste - but as can produce a very clean sound even at high volume it is ideal for use with a good distortion pedal. I use the Behringer V-Amp up front and it produces great sounds. I use with Gibson SG with P90's and Shaftesbury Ned Callan Cody. A very powerful 100 RMS will suffice for any gig including outside venue.

Reliability : 10
This amp has never broken down.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed support

Overall Rating : 7
Been playing for 32 years. Have electrics as mentioned above and a Yamaha accoustic and Behringer V-amp and Zoom effects. The amp is good for power, clean sounds and spring reverb. For distortion you are better off using off-board effects and the amp and speakers will add just enough character to make the effects exciting live.

this amp was made in the late 70's. my guess has always been like '76. the amp has a great tone but is not incredibally versitle (but i'll cover that under Sound. i play a lot of real heavy stuff and then i also play some blues and a little funk. it has 2 independant channels with a high and low for each one. i kinda wish it had an effects loop but that isn't a real biggie for me. i also wish it had a channel switcher but again-isn't a big deal since the overdrive isn't heavy enough for me. this amp has incredible power. never had it even close to 10. i play with a very cymbal happy drummer and it can still be heard on like 3 or 4. kinda wish it was tube but i am poor anyways so i couldn't afford to get the tubes replaced.

Sound Quality : 9
ok i use a fender strat with the usual 3 stock single coils. my music style was described above so i dont need to say that again. it works great with my style. i just play through a electro harmonix big muff and it sounds great. it has an excelant clean tone! i have never heard better. it fits me perfect. it is never noisy for me. and i always play loud but it never gets that annoying buzz or anything. the clean channel has never distorted for me and it probably never will. distortion is really mellow. not hard enough for me. but just go through a distrotion pedel and it is awesome. i give it a 9 for the awesome clean. but not a 10 because of the overdrive.

Reliability : 10
it is like 24 years old and it plays great and hasn't screwed up. does that tell you anything?

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
