More versatile than anything else in its price range.

This is in response to noname who was willing to slam this amp and screw the ratings without owning it. This is a modeling amp. You need to be familiar with it and experiment to get the best sound. No modeling amp is simple to operate. The more capable the more complex. However, they can be very rewarding to those willing to spend the time to learn how to use them.

If you are unwilling or unable to do that, you will not be happy with any complex amp.

Good warranty. No opportunity to use it yet.

This was chosen based on price/performance. I will give another review when I have enough time with it to give a FAIR evaluation.

More features than I currently know how to use, but what a challenge!

Mexi-strat, Godin strat, Martin D-28+fishman, Brass-body resonator with DeArmond P/U, Hofner Steinberger model, Jerry Jones Baritone, Cheap mic for Blues Harp. This amp has no internal noise! I can damp the strings, and have dead quiet. I use this for recording, digital out to ProTools DIGI 001, and the sound is fabulous. I have even used the midi sequencer to alter the sounds as I am playing. Takes some setup, but I don't have to punch in half as much as I used to to get different (even dynamically changing) effects.

I have had ti for about 1 month now, and I would definitely get another if this were stolen. I also have a Fender Princeton Chorus. I did extensive testing against the POD, and the other Line6 offerings.

Wish there was a more intuitive way to choose patches, maybe with a way to name and callup patches by name. Wish there was a way to saelect the expression pedal mode (i.e., volume/wah/other) via a pedal switch.

All around GREAT AMP!! I now use it as my main amp slaved through a
VOX AC30. I've been playing professionally for over 30-years and have had the opportunity to use practically every amp on the market. This amp is very practical... and easy to move around. I've used it both live and in recording sessions... SMOOTH!! I currently play with "2 BAD" [WEBSITE: www.2BAD.tcmm.net], and we play mostly 60's rock...which this amp does a beautiful job. I've "fiddled" with the settings on one patch and have it sounding exactly like a Fender 65 Twin, which I use for my clean setting. IT ROCKS!!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!

To date... the best amp I've plugged in to!!!! I use a Rickenbacker 330FG, Fender RoadHouse and Pro-Shop strats and a Yamaha Mike Stern signature series Tele guitars. With a little "tinkering" with the settings you can get literally any sound you want with this puppy!! I currently only use 4-presets along with a Zoom GFX707 multi-effects processor [which also rules!].

Reliability : 10
Only had the amp for about 5 months... so far, so good... NO PROBLEMS.

Customer Support : 10
I haven't had any problems with the amp thus far... however, I contacted Yamaha via e-mail for a particular request, and low-and-behold they not only answered my question... they sent me a HUGE package of great stuff in the mail [which I received about 2-weeks prior to my request for info]... gotta give 'em a great rating for this endeavor... great to deal with... great folks!!

Overall... A MUST HAVE IN YOUR ARSENAL!!

Excellent little amp. I got rid of a Mesa Rectifier amp and replaced it with this little 60 watt solid state amp. The tone is pretty good but I've heard better out of a yamaha solid state amp, it's a little gutless when on stage playing beside a drummer but it held up pretty good last night in it's debute. Easy to use functions on the amp and great effects. The effects are great but it's a little demanding to switch through 180 different patches with just four buttons, and the footswitch doesn't have a readout to tell you what patch you are on, so you have to count the number of times the light flashes on the footswitch. A definite need of a midi control pedal here... which it does have midi line in/out on the back. This amp is basically the DG stomp with a amp built around it. I think I'm going to like this amp.

Sound Quality : 10
I used a Epiphone Les Paul classic. I play in a cover band and play about 60 songs a night, all different types of music so the variety of sounds on this amp is great.
