has a good distortion. clean has a noise, im using it with a yamaha eg-112 that came with it and with an axl badwqater, y play blues and rockanroll, so it goes well with me. but i dont think it would be very good with a more actual style

Reliability : 3
i??ve never played it with the full volume on, but still, it blow. so it has a very bad relaibillity.

Yamaha G10 amp came in guitar pack. The back speaker says 8 watts, so not gigging material. Very portable and light, has clean and dirty channel (no gain adjustment), 1 vol, 1 treble and 1 bass. 1 Input and 1 headphone. Basic features, could have done with a gain knob at least.

Sound Quality : 5
Not great. Clean channel is usable, the small 6 inch speaker makes a honky sound with humbuckers. Distortion is bit thin and harsh and there is no gain adjustment, but it does a general rock distortion. However, if you are a beginner this will not matter too much. At high levels it can get loud enough, and also audible at very low levels.

This amp is alright if used with a effects pedal or amp modeller, as the clean channel is an good base sound to put these upon.

Reliability : 10
No probs.

It is useful for the beginner on a budget, I would NOT recommend buying this amp new as it is cheap on ebay. If you are looking for portability over sound quality this would be ok for guitar lessons and use in flats/appartments/uni halls. It has limited features, though sound could be improved using a pedal.

Made in Indonesia in 2002. 10 watts. tiny. 1 Input, clean and distorted channels switchable by button. knobs for Vol/Hi/Lo. Headphone jack.

Comes in the standard "Strat Pack" type deal from yamaha.

Sound Quality : 5
Pretty basic tiny practice amp. Fairly loud if your playing alone in a small room. Distortion is Pretty raunchy though not adjustable.

Reliability : 5
Its a yamaha, so it has a slight advantage over other no-name amps of the same style. Gigging is not an option.

I've played in a few Punk and Metal Bands. I'm fairly competent with my gear, i just wrote this review because my roommate gave it to me and i noticed no one had written about it yet. Don't pay more than $50 for one of these.
