I gather this amp head was manufactured in about 1982. PLENTY POWER! I use it with a Crate 4x12 and I've never needed to go above 4 on the dial. It's got all the same features previously described.

Sound Quality : 10
It has Awesome clean tones for blues like ZZTOP. The B channel has a tweak-able parametric controller, The distortion is Not piercing but excellent for Old Aerosmith, AC/DC and Scorpions type stuff.
I use this with everything possible, Les Paul's and strats are my preference. Very quiet amp.

Reliability : 10
I have owned this amp for about a year with no problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No information is available to my knowledge other than this review page. I would really like a manual or any documentation for this.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 3 years. I also use a Crate combo amp, Podxt Live and Daw. I would surely replace this unit with the same if available. What I like most about this head is the Tone and simplicity. It sounded good when I purchased it, but after cleaning the pots it sounds like a different amp. The distortion issue that I've read about here was an issue for me also, but since cleaning the pots, It's like day and night. Did I mention cleaning the pots?

i just got the origonal Yamaha G100 II head and 4x12 cab. IT's awsome once i cleaned the controls out. Hadn't been messed with ever. 2 channels clean A, and Overdriven B. Im not sure what year but def. late 70s-early 80s. Clean Channel has push pull volume for added volume...as well as a puch pull treble..but i think it gets almost to much treble in general...that goes for both channels. BUt clean has treble, mid and bass. ON B the gain or overdrive had a push/pull as well...very cool! A master control (volume) had a parimetric EQ that has so much different tones....you cant go wrong as long as you have that....can get almost any sound you want. also a master reverb runs on both channels. One thing im lost on is why the head has a on-off-on power switch...down is on middle is off and up is on. But i had a very hard time finding info...actually only the one post above mine.

Sound Quality : 9
i have many axes all hot rodded (im a guitar tech. so...). i love this vintage style....before my time i think i was born in 82. I think there is actually no need for the extra treble gians...but then agian i havent had it over a volume setting of 4 out of 10....and 4 is loud enough to play a party, but i use 4 to practice in a big space. i think that distorion is more like a true overdriven sound....but i still havent cranked it up to like 8 yet. I noticed for me that eq level knob for me brings out more distortion (harmonics) the more you sweep it form left to right.

Reliability : No Opinion
i haven thad any problems yet...but i just got it and thought i would put some more info up because i could bearley find any info my self.

i think its a 10 honestly..i have played newer style amps and half stacks..even brand new, and this hangs with the best, even after being like at least 18 years old.

2 CHANNELS (CLEAN, DISTORTED)
PARAMETRIC EQUALIZER
ACCUTRONICS REVERB
LOW AND HIGH INPUTS
2 SPEAKER OUTPUTS
DIRECT OUT FOR A MIXER (UNBALANCED)
2 PULL FAT KNOBS FOR LOUDER SOUND, 13 KNOBS IN TOTAL
FOOT SWITCH FOR CHANNEL/REVERB ON/OFF
IT DOES HAVE SOME SORT A EMULATOR FOR TUBE SOUND, THAT WORKS GREAT

Sound Quality : 10
THIS AMP IS THE BEST FINAL STAGE FOR A SIGNAL WHICH ORIGINATES
FROM A TUBE PRE-AMP. THIS AMP IT IS GOOD FOR ANY STYLE OF MUSIC.
THIS AMP IS COMPLETELY QUIET WITH THE REVERB KNOB OFF, IT DOES MAKE A
LITTLE NOISE BY USING THE REVERB, THE GAIN CHANNEL IS KIND OF
USELESS BY USING THE DISTORTION GAIN SETTINGS. BUT DOES A GOOD JOB FOR
OVERDRIVE OUTPUTS. THIS AMP IS GOOD TO AMPLIFY A SIGNAL THAT HAS PASSED THROUGH A TUBE PRE-AMP AND EFFECTS.

Reliability : 10
THIS AMP CAN WORK FOREVER/THE SOLID STATE STAGE IS VERY WELL DESIGNED.
YOU MAY NEED TO CLEAN THE POTS ONCE EVERY 5 YEARS.
THIS AMP HAS NEVER BROKE DOWN.

Customer Support : No Opinion
This amp has never been repaired from a manufacturing or systems
problem, a feature on the parametric equalizer had to be repaired
because of two much toggling on the knob. and only required
cleaning of the pots.

Overall Rating : 10
PLAYING FOR 20 YEARS, I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE IN A SECOND.
THIS AMP LOOKS AN PLAYS GOOD. THE ACCUTRONICS REVERB IS KIND OF NOISY
BUT I DON'T USE IT ANY WAYS. NO OTHER AMP COMES CLOSE TO IT ECCEPT THE
ROCKTRON RACKMOUNT SOLID STATE RACKMOUNTS AMPS. I INSTALLED INPUTS ON
THE BACK, THIS AMP WORKS BEST BY USING BOTH SPEAKER OUTPUTS TO A 4X12
EQUIPED WITH LEFT AND RIGHT OR TOP AND BOTTOM INDIVIDUAL INPUTS.
DO CLEAN ALL POTS WITH AN ELECTRONICS SPRAY CLEANER. YOU WILL BE SURPRISED OF THE SOUND OF THIS AMP AFTER CLEANING THIS POTS.
DO USE SILVER WIRE FOR THE SPEAKER CONNECTIONS.
PLUG THE ELECTRICAL OUTPUT OF THIS AMP TO AN ISOLATOR TRANSFORMER.
I ROUTE MY SYSTEM THIS WAY INITIAL SIGNAL GOES TO A ROCKTRON PIRANHA
PRE-AMP THEN GOES TO A ROCKTRON REPLIFEX THEN IT GOES TO A TC ELECTRONICS D TWO DELAY THEN IT GOES TO A BBE 882 SONIC MAXIMIZER.
THEN BEFORE THIS SIGNAL GOES TO A MIXER IT IS PLUGGED TO A FURMAN
SIGNAL ISOLATOR. THEN THIS SIGNAL GETS CONNECTED TO A MACKIE 1604 VLZ
MIXER THEN A SIGNAL IS TAPPED FOR THE YAMAHA G100II HIGH INPUTS.
ALL THIS EQUIPMENT IS PLUGGED TO A CARVIN RACKMOUNT POWER SUPPLY AND
THEN TO A HAMMOND 15 AMP ISOLATOR TRANSFORMER.
