1991 model. 150 watt solid state 2x12 guitar combo, stock with 70w Celestions.
The amp has 2 channels, clean and lead, each with bass, mid, treble controls. The lead channel has a +6db boost for extra gain, and the
clean side has a on or off presence switch. Both channels share a 3-spring Accutronics reverb. The unit has separate high/low instrument inputs and separate jacks for pre-out and power-in in addition to a channel-switching TRS footswitch jack and a headphone jack.
It features a *very* clean power amp section. It will even function as a bass amp in a pinch. I originally used this amp as my distortion
source and the efffects loop for delay/chorus. It was always quite sufficient for any style I chose to play through it. The lead channel has quite a lot of gain and sustain, but I find it a bit sterile for
a really grungy blues sound. It's loud enough to fill a reasonably well-sized hall without straining. The reverb is about standard for
the built-in kind. I really only use reverb at low volumes anyway.
The unit is very heavy - nearly 80lbs. This makes it hard to carry as they only give you one handle on the top(which finally broke). Some casters or two end handles would have been nice. Fortunately, it doesn't need any kind of fancy footswitch interface. The power-in jack is an easy place to plug the ouput of a rack or mixer.

I use mostly mutt Les Paul copies with a variety of humbuckers. I've also used a Hamer California Elite since owning this amp. The amp colors your sound minimally, so if there is a problem, it's probably not the amp's fault. I actually bought this amp because it was the cleanest sounding one I'd ever heard. You can crank it up without worrying about strange buzzes or pops from the circuitry. All of the pots have remained quiet over the years without mainenance.
Also impressive is the amount of bass the amp will reproduce. People often comment about how much low-end my rig can handle.
The tone knobs give you a good bit of flexibility over the output, but the amp really doesn't have "special sound" associated with some
brands. This thing is also incredibly loud - clean or lead. I've never had cause to turn the volume past 3 or 4. I've never had a problem with the clean sound becoming distorted. The distortion is strong and full, but is a little edgy for my tastes.

Reliability : 10
I have always been sure that this amp would still work if you dropped it off a truck. The 1/4" thick steel grille is just a wonderful idea.
I've never taken the unit apart, but it's never made an internal rattle, except for the reverb thingy. I've never known the amp to give me one bit of trouble. It's still the only amp I ever use.

I've been playing for over 15 years, both at home and on the road. I
have several electric and acoustic guitars as well as a couple of basses. The Yorkville even makes a decent practice bass or keyboard amp. I would probably cry if the amp got stolen, but I would probably try something else just for the sake of variety. If I found one used I might snatch it up, though.
This amp has been one of my most satistfying purchases. For what it is, I don't see how it can be made much better. Perhaps installing a external speaker jack instead of the hard-wired job.
What really sold me was the nice clean, loud sound. I had limited success finding a tube amp I liked, and most other solid state amps at the time just plain blew.
It's probably not the best amp ever made, but I think it will still be cranking out quality sound long after most equipment is in the can.
