This little 20-watt, single-channel combo amp was the first guitar amp I ever owned. I'm writing this from memory, so please excuse me if I don't get every detail correct on this amp. I bought this amp new in early 1990 from Long & McQuade on Bloor Street in Toronto and I believe it had a 8" speaker. I believed it was manufactured by the company "Yorkville Sound". It contained controls for GAIN (actually labelled "OVERDRIVE"), TREBLE, BASS, MIDDLE, and VOLUME. It also had a headphone out. It was black with white lettering and weighed VERY little.

Sound Quality : 7
The sounds were pretty good for a solid-state practice amp. It didn't get a whole lot of distortion and the clean sound was pretty good. (Which is usually always the case with solid-state amps) I wanted more distortion at the time and couldn't get it from the amp so I had to use a DOD American Metal pedal that my cousin sold to me. The gain got way TOO intense though. :) I used an Ibanez EX-140 guitar (my first gutiar) with this amp. The EX-140 was a lower-end Ibanez that came with a traditional Fender-style tremolo, a humbucker and 2 single-coil pickups, and a rosewood fretboard/maple neck. guitar with

Reliability : 10
This amp was very reliable and it never failed me. I owned it for about a year and a half and traded it in for a Fender H.O.T. solid state combo amp. (Check out my review in the Fender section)

Customer Support : No Opinion
I never required customer support - I took care of this amp extremely well and it never failed me.

Overall Rating : 8
I was pretty happy with this amp and was glad that it was my first amp. I really wanted to have an amp with Reverb at the time, channel-switching, and more distortion so I traded it in for a Fender H.O.T. amp because that was all I could afford.
My cousin even ended up with one of these amps and I was so surprised to see one again. It was like meeting an old friend! I'm overall pretty impressed with this little amp and it's perfect for using as a small practice amp or taking it here or there for just plain jamming & fun. Definately a happening little unit! :)
