This is a pretty strange amp. The YSR-2 hit the market in 1970 and ended production in '71. Mine was made in '72...go figure. It's a 45 watt combo with 4 10 inch speakers, 2 channels, reverb, and the first amp to have a master volume.

I'm currently playing a 2002 PRS Santana SE with swapped Seymour Duncan humbuckers. Amp has a great clean sound (for a solid state amp) but not much as far as distortion goes. As soon as i swapped pickups i couldn't get a good sound out of the amp, so it's been sitting in my attic for about a year. I'm currently playing an Ampeg SJ-12T which unfortunately isn't much louder, but will soon be replaced with a Laney LC50.

Aside from the sound i've never had any problems with the unit.

Really, the only reason i'm writing this review is to give credit where credit is deserved. This amp may be 34 years old but Yorkville/Traynor still answered all of my questions (including an explanation for the weird serial #). Not only did they help me out, but they (Mike Holman) got back to me bright and early on a monday (the day after i'd sent an email)!
