great guitar! the one i player was an alder body with a maple neck and rosewood fret board. This instrument was an eye catcher. It was a slightly reliced guitar with a sea foam green notro finish. Sexy guitar!! haha

man, this puppy sang! the sustain was amazing. The man who makes these guitars make sure they are perfectly weighed to the right weight. and if not he does a little hollowing of which you cannot see looking at the guitar. This was the true strat tone that i have always been looking for.

the strings were quite average action wise. Not too far and not too close. And for the finish, an very thin coat of nitro is put on this guitar. The thinner the coat, the better the sound.

I haven't had any experience with this guitar, all i did was play it in a music store. But seeing how the finish is a thin nitro, it will probably come off quite easily. But that gives it more mojo!

ive been playing for about 9 years and started playing at age 9. I've always been looking for the best strat tone, and i think i found it in this guitar. I really plan on buying this once i can accumulate enough money.

Alder body, nitrocellulose two-tone sunburst finish, light relic work.
Body feels and *smells* awesome. Yeah, you read that right - I like the smell. It's definitely different than the other poly-finished bodies I have.
The contours are cut really deep, and I love it. My other strat body seems to have the 70's cuts, which aren't as deep, and to my eyes, the '57 cuts are so much sleeker and sexier, and feel so much better.

Honestly, I can't really tell the difference in sound between poly and nitro finishes. But I can tell you that I like the feel and smell of the nitro finish *much* more.

This is my first sunburst body. I saw it on eBay, and it just called out to me. Seriously. The fact that it was done up in nitro was a plus (and I found out later just how much I liked the nitro - but not for the sound). The relic work - it looks good, I could do with or without it. I would've preferred to put in the damage over years of my own playing, but no big deal. It looks cool. And I just love to hold and to be close to it. I'll stop there before the review starts to sound weird..

Holding up well so far. Looks like it's been around the block a bit - but that's what relic'ing is all about, no? Feels nice and solid.

ABC Relic Guitars was a pleasure to deal with. Very friendly, super responsive, nice small-time mom and pop operation.

I've just about used up my budgeted quota on gear, but when I start another build, I'm definitely going to give Mr. Varkadoz at ABC Relic Guitars a call.
