Best sounding guitar I own, i have a 68 gibson es 335 a 74 hardtail strat, a g&l s-500 and the Abyss blows them all away. I use it with a Peavey Classic 30, roland jazz chorus 77 and a custom built vintage tube amp used with a 10'' jensen speaker in a closed back 10" single cab, powered by a 1950something Bogen Tube PA with a zoom RFX 2000.

The low E string to the D string sound like a cello when the neck pickup is selected and you gracefully slide your fingers to the desired frets!!!!!

I play zeppelin, calpton, hendrix phish etc and I can nail all their tones. I go from clapton/hendrix to trey/page with the push/pull option.

The pickups are great and the coil tap works to perfection. It is harder to hear the difference when the guitar is played with distortion because of its hollowness but when it is on a clean feed, you can really hear the difference.

Everything is perfect, the action is fast.. the guitar is amazing

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar is a hollowbody, obviously it cant stand the same treatment that a strat or les paul could. I mean if you drop it hard enough it might break, but if you take good care of it, there will be no problems, I have taken it with me across the country and in and out of the case and have hade no porblems

It is also the lightest guitarI have ever played. I used to own a Parker and I thought those were light weight, this baby is about 3 lbs you dont even realize that a guitar is straped around your body.

I got this guitar from a guy who had it made for him. He never used it and sold it to me for $3150. Considering new it costs close to $7,000 I would say that I got a great deal. The tail peice was cracked when I got it so I sent it back to Kevin at Abyss and he sent me a new one for $100.00 bucks. Great support, answered my email quickly.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 11 years. I have played a bunch of guitars and this one is the best. simply amazing. I highly recomend one.

If i lost this or it got stolen, and I had the 7grand for a new one, I would probabally buy it again, but if I am goin to spend 7 i might as well spend 10 and get one from paul languedoc.. J/k get an Abyss, you wont be dissappointed.
