Abyss NSII

Mahogony neck thru design with mahogany sides. Master Grade woods are used in the making of this guitar. 5A Flame Maple top. and it's about 3/4" thick. Ebony finger board 24 frets 25inch scale with only a jungle cat inlay(abalone).Very Classy. Chrome hardware, tone pros bridge and Schaller locking tuners. Volume pot is a coil splitter for the Duncan Humbuckers '59 neck and Jb bridge. Tone pot is very usable and musical. Gives the guitar a vareity tones.
This guitar was custom built for me by Kevin Pederson, owner and master craftsman of the Abyss Guitar Company Forest City Iowa. Comes with an SKB case. Double cutaway, like PRS.

I just got the guitar so this is a preliminary product review. Having said that, let me say........ I played this baby unplugged for about an hour. Chords ring of this thing chimey and warm. The body resonates from the headstock to the strap button. Making this guitar loud for a solid body uplugged electric. Single note can sustain for over 10 seconds. Playing chord melody jazz stuff was very easy with great definition and clarity.
Now with the amp..... Thru the tube amp everything I just mentioned a 1000 times better. Plus distortion! whoa momma! No effects sport fans, just the guitar and it's vol and tone controls. Like I said before, the tone control is very musical and useful. Used in tandem with the volume control and tons of tones. Split the coils and it's heavenly sweet brillance. SO all styles are welcome. I love this guitar!

hand made with an obvious attention to detail. You can tell how much a person likes his job by the quality of the workmanship. I can Honestly say Kevin LOVES his job.

I can't wait to play it with the band. I know it's just gonna rock!!!
The quality of this guitar tells me it will last a life time.

I've been playing for 30 plus years and this is my first real, hand made, custom for me guitar. I am impressed by this young man's workmanship he is a master luthier.
Compared to my PRS, This guitar is Lighter(even though its thicker)more resonant, louder uplugged and a little easier to play. Plus the choice of woods are far more superior. Overall the workmanship is just incredible. AS should a hand made instrument of this quality.

This is a Neck Thru Black Korina neck and body. Full length Black Limba neck with a special attached headstock and two body wings. All black Limba (Korina).
Super 5A Flamed maple top. This one a gorgeous Blackburst. Matching Headstock overlay
Rosewood board, Tribal inlay using MOP and Abalone.
Wrap around hard tail bridge.
Dimarzio Air Norton and Tone zone 5 Way blade switch (two positions are coil taps)
Locking Tuners.
24 Frets

This guitar is incredible. Great tone. Very rich and full. Superb for Jazz sounds, but it has such a great range, can do Metal to clean. Blues to Rock anything really. Has a nice twang as well besides a great crunch in the neck.
