This guitar is made in the republic of China Taiwan.20 frets.I think its a laminated top.The woods I am not certain of. Sorry I cant give the specks, Im into the sound, playability, and durability.I have never see a 340T before. This is the first review in here with one. It does have neck bindings or trim. Its a good looking guitar. Its a higher end Yamaha. I have seen other cheaper looking Yamaha.

After I spent a week setting this guitar up. Its has a killer sound. It sings. Has tons of sustain. Would fit any style music. Everyone who hears it is amazed at the sound. The setting when I got it was very high, which sucked for your fingers.. Plastic on the bridge, plastic pins. Changed to bone and brass pins. The nut is still plastic, but Im afraid to change it,might change the sound it has now that I have never heard in another guitar. Including Martin, Gibson.I could go on forever about the sound. You can feel the sweet vibrations as it sings. Did I say I use electric strings. Yes slinkys. It took the brassy sound out of it. I did spend a week adjusting, grinding, filing, changing strings, lets not forget.

The factory set up sucked. They put plastic in the bridge. Also used plastic pins and nut.Set high to kill your fingers to make you get a setup. We all know the secret is the bone and brass for sustain. You have to get intonation by filing the bone at angles. Takes time. Thats what it takes to get great sound. The higher dollar guitars use the same woods as Yamaha. They just do a great setup, using bone and brass at times. Try a set of brass pins if you want a suprise. Makes a diffrence. Most high end guitars use bone and ebony woods, for pins.Im goin to give the finish and fit a 10, even though you have to set it up,and the guitar cost a fourt of a high end guitar. Considering that, high end guitars are no better looking or quality in detail. An extra coat of clear go's a long way., but is not worth the extra price.

Been playin for 35 years. This guitar has made me sell all my collection of acoustics. After I got this set up, I found it to be the best sounding, best playing, guitar I owned. I would hate to think I would have to chance finding another exact model in this condition to set up like this. If stolen it would be like loosing my best friend. Its a pleasure to play and a bigger one to hear it sing. No, I wont trade for your Martin. No, Its not for sale. Browsed Gibson shop in Nashville TN. Nothing there I would trade for. I played almost all of them. This guitar has soul. Anything you wish it had? Yes, A twin! If you can find one I recommend buying it. Remember the name dont produce the sound. If I scrubbed the name off this and said I was making them, people would beat my door down wanting one. Dont get fooled by the name.
