Delivered 2009. Made in Korea. 22 Jumbo Frets. Spalted Maple Top. Mahogany back and neck although much lighter than pictured on the Rondo site. Ebony fretboard. Grover tuners do the job very nicely. Does not come with case.
Passive humbuckers are said to be Alnico Vs. 22 jumbo frets. Graph tech nut. Tapered neck is very fast.

Passive Pickups are Alnico V...For the bridge, think Joe Walsh sound as heard in Zachariah circa 1970....the neck pickup has a very Les Paul-y tone that matches the styling of this LP type guitar. As stated by Rondo, the pups are warm. Don't expect searing metal crunch but if you want a multi purpose range from rock to jazz this will do it. Surprisingly single coil tones for fingerpicking when turning the volume pots down. Lots of range in the tone pots, too. Pots are quieter than SX guitars I've bought.
Using solid state amps and emulators right now. Great balanced sound.

One MAJOR costmetic flaw....on back of neck joint a one inch crack in the finish. This may have been missed at the factory as its hard to see or caused by UPS. I briefly considered sending it back but all the other features sonically and in terms of luthier expertise negated that. Set up, intonation and action are superb.
The bookmatching fo the spalted wood top is beautiful as are the irridescent abalone inlays--the best in my collection of guitars so far.
Nothing is perfect and if not for that lacquer crack, I would have given it a ten.

First experience with Agile....but made me a believer.
Hardware is solid and yes, I would use this for gigging.

Referencing the crack in the finish, I'm sure Rondo would have taken it back. Aside from its sounding terrific, its a visual work of luthiery art.

Been playing since 1980, and in the few weeks I've had this guitar its now become one of my two faves in a collection of around a dozen. If it were stolen I'd like to think I could get another Agile this versatile and beautiful.
Gibson purists will sneer--having played a friend's '69 Gold Top Les Paul for a summer--I prefer the playability and craftsmanship of this Agile. I'm not afraid to say cheaper has to be worse. The myth of status is exactly that. 21st century technology now gives us results without the so-called vintage bank breaking expenses. $15K or $380. Choose.

The Alnico Pickups are the bomb on this agile i love them ! I had planed to change the pickups out because i really like Dimarzio pups. But after playing the guitar for the past few weeks I just love the pickups and the guitar . The Ebony Neck and fretwork are beautiful on this les paul. I am glad i went with this neck and not the slim on the agile al 3000 because i find this neck profile like a 60s neck. I read some reviews that the standard neck was really fat ,just not true at least not mine. If you play classic rock, if you play old school metal or punk this guitar can handle it with the Alnico pickups and the right Tube AMP. I love when people write reviews of guitars and they have only played through a 15 watt solid state amp..Buy a good amp it will be one of your best investments in your TONE...

This Agile AL came from the factory needing a slight tweek to take out some string buzz no big deal. The Spalted nat Finish does vary from guitar to guitar so it make the one you get completely unique. I love mine lots of patterns and varation of light and dark wood. I think the hardware is solid on this guitar and tuners work well. You really dont need to Mod this guitar at all it plays well right out of the box. Lots of people compare the Agile to gibson
Because they are based on gibson lp so i think that is why the comparison. They are well built Les paul hybrid Copies I own and have owned many guitars mostly LES PAULS. This guitar is Really a steal (no kidding) for the money...I am really happy with this agile as happy as i am with my other les pauls, gibson and japan made copies ...I really like all the different tops on the les pauls that rondo offers on the AL line. bottom line this guitar plays sounds and feels like a more expensive guitar!
