New Honeyburst model. The Lam top isn't exactly exquisitely bookmatched, but it is attractive.

I have A/B'd the stock Alnico pickups with a pair of Duncan Antiquities that I have in my ES-333 and ya know, I just don't hear enough disparity to justify swapping them. This guitar sounds like a good Les Paul. I've tried it through a Fender SCXD, a Princeton Reverb II, a Deluxe Reverb Reissue, a Maz Jr. and a Mojotone 5E3. It sounds like a Les Paul. No noise, well balanced...

I always find it suspect when people rave about cheap imports and assume they're kids getting their first guitar. I say this without any exaggeration; This guitar came setup like it was done by the best pro that I know. 10's, (good, clean strings), low but not too low action, perfect relief, beautiful fretwork, a perfectly cut nut (!)...unfreakinbelieveable. I went over the entire guitar with my best cheaters (hey, I'm almost 50) just lookin' for something to complain about. Found what appeared to be a nick in the headstock-turned out to be a little leftover rubbing compound. The pots are smooth.

I won't comment here until I've had this guitar a but longer, but I don't see any reason to believe this guitar won't hold up.

I emailed Kurt requesting two things; cream pickguard (as opposed to the advertised white one) and, this is a biggie-a "lighter guitar if you can find one". I know the Agiles have a notorious rep for being boat anchors so presumed this was asking a bit much. Mine came in at 8.5 lbs.

I've been playing since 1970. I own a ton of gear and consider myself mostly a Strat/Tele guy. This purchase was made to scratch the LP itch. Success. I really thought about buying a Historic. Glad I didn't since there is no way that any R8 or R9 I've ever tried are 10x+ better than this guitar.
I do wish they'd offer this guitar with a fat chunky neck profile like the Historics, though.

Mde in Korea is all I can remember or feel like writing at the moment. Their specs are on the website so go check them out there. It has pretty much all that you would find on a "less paul" minus the price tag.

I don't recall how it sounded when it was stock because I had GFS mean 90's at my house ready to swap out the humbuckers that it came with. However, I can tell you that this guitar is surprisingly resonant when it's unplugged, which is a good starting point for good tone. I am very pleased with the tone I got out of the Agile + Mean 90's especially after I had it modded.
Let me explain. This guitar is great stock, don't get me wrong, but I bought it with a game plan in mind. I had a tone and volume knob replaced with a switch to go from in/out of phase and the other switch to go from series/parallel wiring. This combination allows me to get some nice strat tones, nice humbucker tones as well (since the mean 90's are humbucker sized single coils, like the seymour duncan phat cats.) I can get a nasal out of phase tone with a humbucker or strat type tone since I can switch between series/parallel despite being in or out of phase. Long story short, the guitar sounds phenomenal. You can put quality pickups in any guitar and make it sound good, but I honestly feel that the resonance of the guitar helps its great tone.

Holy crap, here is where the guitar shines. It has a flawless finish, amazing feel and plays like a shredder's wet dream (ewww lol). The guitar came practically fully set up from the factory and I just had to make minuscule changes to the intonation to get it spot on.
The frets are smooth as an air hockey surface and the ebony fret board really helps to play fast licks. I still can't believe I bought the guitar for 340$

Are you kidding me, the guitar is built like a rock and has no problems what so ever. This baby even stays in tune while I wail away on the strings.

I have been playing for three and a half years and am a guitar center bum. I spend hours joking with the manager and playing their expensive guitars. My agile smokes every single Epi that they sell and plays as well as the gibsons at a fraction of the price. NO bull

I have the spalted maple slim neck model with mother of pearl inlays. The features are great. Ebony fretboard and grover tuners were the biggest selling point for me. You can see the rest of the specs on the rondo website.

I own a Gibson Les Paul Standard (which sounds amazing) and this guitar sounds very similar to it. I a/b the gibson and agile through a Dual Rect. Mesa with the mesa cab and they are stupid close in tone. The agile has enough bite and crunch in the bridge pickup and it smooths out nice on the neck pickup. Harmonics on the agile ring out just as easy. I do believe that my gibson sounds more clear and defines the notes a little better than the agile, but you would have to play them both yourself to really tell. I honestly like the sound of the agile, and that's coming from someone who always has to swap the pickups out for emgs or duncans. I still may upgrade the pickups in it if I found a killer deal on some duncans, but as of right now I can live with the stock ones.

Ok the action was a little too low from the factory, but a few turns on the bridge screws and it was fine. Neck looked perfect. Just a tad of relief which is what you want. This guitar plays AMAZING!!! It absolutely smokes my gibson in this area. The fretboard is nice and smooth as well as the frets. It has a really fast feel to it like a jackson or and Esp fretboard. The only flaws I found was on the binding on the headstock, but it's so small you can't really tell. The other is that the volume and tone knobs are kinda crooked when you turn them. It's more cosmetic and I'm sure I can fix them. It doesn't bother me. Bottom line is the attentiont to detail is very good. The binding the neck joint, it all looks fine to me. I give it a 10 for the way it plays but a 9 for the crooked knobs.

They got my order right so I guess they are ok. I've read that Kurt is the man as far as their customer guy, but I just ordered the guitar off the internet so all is well.

I've been playing for 16yrs. I own 10 guitars and sold and traded just as many. I've owned Gibson Les Pauls, Explorers, Sgs, Schecters, Teles, etc. I know what a good guitar is and what good tone is and this guitar has it. It plays so much better than my gibson and most of my other guitars. It kinda makes me mad to know that I payed so much for a gibson that I had to replace the tuning keys cause they sucked and wouldn't hold a tune! Gibson makes some good sounding guitars but you have to try them out cause their quality control has gone down. I love the agile and it stays in tune. $465 with the case to my door and it's absolutely sick!! Gibson better watch the hell out!!

This review is fir the 3100 CSB 60 profile neck.
This is a very good playing/sounding Les-Paul. Fisrt off let me say I own 3-Gibson Les-Pauls, a Standard 05 a Studio VM 05 and Studio 07 with Gibsons new style weight relief. I also own a Edwards Les-Paul Custom. So there are some pretty good LPs t compare this to in my home.
This Agile 3100 differs in body shape slightly from Gibson/Edwards. It also differs in appointments slighty. First off I guess it would be fair to say its sort of a cross between a Custom and a Standard. The Trazaziod inlays start at the first fret indtead of the Third. They are MOP and not plastic. The body is Muli-Bound on the top. Single bound on the neck and multi-bound on the headstock. I like all this about the 3100 Agile. The pick-ups are Alnico-V magnets and sound very clear and clean with slight microfonics to them. Pretty much like 50's PAFs, a good copy with a braided single lead. The Tuners are 18:1 ratio Grovers and work very smoothly. The nut is a Bone Nut that is nicely shaped and doesn't hang up. Action and fret-work are superb on the 3100 and easily rate with my other higher end LPs. I do not know how consistant this is with Agile but I do know that I also own their higher end WAD 1000 TC and the fret work is very good their also. The fretboard is Ebony and is nice and Dark Black. Not a funny lighty brown Ebony like I've seen used on cheaper Epiphones and Gibsons. Like the high end gibsons. The Tune-O Matic bridge looks like it could be better quality but its quiet and intonates pefectly? The Stop Tail is kind heavy yet agian is Nickle plated like the rset of the Hardware. Also the pups are Nickle plated and though I like this touch the plating is wearing quickly. I like fatter 59 profile necks on my LPs but this 60 profile neck is VERY similiar to a 60 Classic Gibson LP I sold. NOt much different. Its a faster neck yet its frets and plays effortlessly. The Agile is a POLY finish and very well done. I have looked the guitar over several times and cannot find a flaw. Its a nice Cherry Sunburst Finish. Mahogany back and neck with a Nicely Flamed Maple Top which is real wood no Photo Finish or Veneer. Very nidely matched twqo piece top!

I though initially I could change the pick-ups if need be. But I actually like the way this LP sounds. I have BB-Pro's in my other LPs and a 59/JB combo in my Edwards. So these PAF sounding Alnico V's sound perfect for a change. As mentioned very clear, clean, balanced, witha slight micofonic tone. Pretty muck like real PAFs. They are just right in both positions with no mudd in the neck and just the right bite in the bridge without being too heavy. Really a close appoximation to 50's PAFs IMO.

The 3100 plays great it really does. I couldn't ask for a better playing guitar for the money and I am very impressed with it. I often reach for the 3100 instead of my Gibsons or Edwards so to me, that says a LOT. The neck is not a Long Neck Tenon but yet I get great sustain from this LP. I can understand how such a good LP could be built for so little. Go's to show just how much we are overpaying for USA Craftsmanship. The 3100 has all Hand Filed and finished frets and they have done a wonderfull job on these frets. The guityar seriously plays like butter. You can drop the strings/action as low as you'd like with no fret buzz. Excellent work. Matter off fact the best I have seen from KOREA.

I love this 3100 and I rally dig the fact that its not exactly a copy of a Gibson LP. Its its own design in many ways, And the way it differs from Gibson are all things I would have wanted changed. Like the Inlays going to the FIRST fret instead of starting at the THIRD? Thats just ugly IMO. I also like the mutil binding and the fact the headstock is Multi bound. The Flamed Maple Top is just right and REAL WOODF no overlay veneer. Yet its not a CLOWN BURST where it actually looks like a veneer. The Top is a two piece center seamed Flamed Maple Top with just enough Flame to look correect, like the older 50's Gibsons
Been playing since the late 60's and own a bunch of gear that I've picked up over the years. This is a great addition and I am very glad I picked it up from a friend who couldn't bond with the guitar. These are NOT weighjt relieved Les-Pauls. So they will run a little heavy. Mine weighs exactly 10lbs. And you can feel it. While i like my Strats and Teles LIGHT. I like my LPs either at 91/2 or 10lbs. All my Gibson Lps are slightly lighter but they are weight relieved. So again its nice to have something close to the 50's LPs!

This review is for the rootbeer flame wide neck 3100. The sound is pure les paul and is fat and warm. I'm a single coil man, myself and usually play either my Fender tele semi-hollowbody or my seafoam green Dean Palomino with 3 p-90's (my favorite for rockabilly, Beatles and Johnny A type tunes) and a Bigsby. I wanted a mahogany guitar with humbuckers to round out my sound palette. I also have an Agile tele with Texas special pups and a Bigsby, a Washburn wg-248 w/h-s-h and a Jeff Beck swapped at the bridge and an agile bass wich is great. This guitar has grovers, alnico 5 pups, upgraded electronics, ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl markers and an outstanding flame body. The toggle for the pups is ok, but may need to be either changed out or needs to be sprayed to fix the contacts. I had the one time issue (have had it for a day and about 6 hours of playing) of the contact not clicking in and moved the toggle back and forth once, it now is fine but we'll see)

My style, as stated above is from straight forward R&R like zep & pink floyd, to rockabilly ala Brian Setzer, scotty moore, to alternative like the Cure & the Clash. I also like challenging pieces like Johnny A stuff (love the tone & vibe & love all the tabs online nowadays that keep me from having to piece it out by ear like in the old days. Ain't technology grand? This guitar is a les paul sound period. I've had a 72 sg and have played other rich people's les paul's and PRS's. This tone and sustain is beautiful and is really, as others have said, a violin type tone when a distortion is added. Really f'ing beautiful. Superb sustain. The neck is warm and smooth, the bridge a little biting, but not near the single coil sound. Just nice. Humbuckers have a great sound for a no-name. I would use this guitar for r&r, blues, non-twangy country,r&b, & jazz, It's really quite nice. No hum, unless I have insane distortion on. Oh, I use behringer stuff once I got rid of my j-station (actually my son fried it by not hooking it up to the OBLIGATORY powerstrip in a thunderstorm. It's a Florida rule I thought they tought one in school...). I have distortion, compressor, graphic equalizer, chorus and tuner. I find I don't use the compressor with this guitar. It bites in with the Jazz 3 picks I use and has the sustain already (sounds like my compressor is on actually, but without the chicken pickin' quality of it.)

The finish is flawless. I read the other reviews before buying and felt that I could live with a little f-up on the finish, but it's perfect. No flaws that I can see. The adjustments, for me, were perfect right from the factory. The finish is almost violin like (which goes with the tone)with a great bookmatched flame top. It's even to each other. The ebony neck and mother of pearl fingerboard are flwaless as well. The frets are fine, nothing untoward that I can feel

This is a fine guitar. When I play out, I always bring a couple to bring out different sounds I'm going for. I don't play out that much anymore, but ripping through some leads, it makes me want to join a rock band again. Toggle keeps it from being a 10

I give it a 9 1/2. We'll see as time goes on. I haven't been disappointed from agile, except the pups on the tele. I think the 3100 pups are excellent though. It is a fantastic value for what it's pitted against in my book: Les Paul, ESP and PRS. Oh, I've been playing since I was 15, I'm a big ol 44 today so you do the math. I'm too busy sipping my scotch, but thought I'd add this review as I have had so much great info from these user reviews over the years. Oh, and I play through an older peavey classic 50 with 2 12's and Eurotubes
