Agile's copy of a 60's Gibson Les Paul Special Double cut with P-90 type pickups, typical LP toggle switch and two vol/tone controls, in TV yellow, made in Korea(2003?); has stoptail with two set screws for "rough intonation", but no individually adjustable saddles or bridge ( like the early Gibsons )which isn't a problem on this one but can be easily updated with a compensated tailpiece for around $35-40. Tuners are 18:1 Grovers, the set neck is close to an LP but with better workmanship than my Gibson LP Specials. The strapbuttons are large (what Gibson should be using )but still fit a regular strap. Good workmanship !

Sounds fairly close to Gibson P-90 for $239, but may upgrade or swap with my Gibson out of curiosity. Noise at high gain as expected, better for overdrive than distortion - not a "Metalhead" but more like Leslie West. Using Peavey Ultra 112 tube amp and Boss GT-6. Been playing different styles on/off since early 70's but should be better ! I don't gig but jam occasionally.

Excellent setup, close action with no fret buzz, should change strings though; I lowered the pickups slightly; no flaws found yet but have not taken it apart.

Seems well built and solid, finish and hardware just as durable as my Gibsons, but maybe with a less fragile neck. Strap buttons as stated above are exceptionally useful. Would you really gig without a backup ? The case ( $49) was not quite as good as Gibson's ($120), but well worth the money.

Kurt answered two e-mails promptly, one about a case and the other about setting intonation.

Own or have owned many Gibson and Fenders, and even two PRS, but have been getting more into Korean made imports( Michael Kelly and Agile ) recently because of the quality/cost thing. If stolen I would probably replace with same.
