Korean made Les Paul Special double cutaway copy featuring a mahogany body with set mahogany 22 fret neck with standard Gibson fare 24.75 inch scale and I would guess a 12 inch radius, 2 P90 pickups each governed by a separate volume and tone control and a 3 way pickup selector switch, Grover tuners. Mine is that Heritage Cherry color I believe it's called, like Angus' SG with a well applied poly finish. The neck is a comfortable medium C. I prefer fat necks but this one works just fine for me.

There are three major deviations from Gibson's design- it has a stop bar tail piece and a tuneomatic bridge, the nut is a bit narrow making intricate arpeggios and single note lines a bit more difficult by the nut, and the back of the body has a belly cut. I don't care for the latter two of those features myself, but the former is just fine.

That neck joint design is prone to some flex, yet the poly finish apparently is not since it has chipped some around where the neck meets body. From what I've read though this is not unusual and somewhat par for the course. I've had the guitar now for going on three years.

Sound : 9
I picked it up almost on a whim just to see what it was like, and after receiving it kinda set it aside and didn't pay much attention to it for a long time. Recently I've pulled it out, cleaned it up and put it in service. I've got to say I like this guitar a great deal. It's definitely a good quality copy with excellent tones stock and it resonates beautifully. I'm rather surprised actually. I've looked at the Korean and Chinese Epiphones and only the higher end ones can compare (56 reissue LP, etc).

It sounds like a P90 guitar man. The bridge is brash and daring and the neck is refined and jazzy. There may be better P90s out there but the stock ones are not bad at all. I'm now in an Indie project and it suits that perfectly. It has the standard P90 noise and hum of course.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I purchased the guitar used about a year after it was originally sold and it had been played rarely by the original owner. It was set up well enough but I made some tweaks. There are really no flaws to speak of in the finish and the wood grain is straight. It has a three piece body but they are well matched.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The pots are a weak point and will probably need to be replaced. Other than that it's a simple design and I have faith in it. I never gig without a backup because of possible string breakage if for no other reason.

I've been playing for 22 years and am in two working bands. This guitar suits one of the two bands very well and the other not so much. You gotta have the right tool for the job. I've got a lot of gear and have had still more. I'm writing this review because I am very happy with the guitar and I felt compelled to as a result. Lots of fun, this thing. They are inexpensive and I recommend picking one up. This guitar has been discontinued but the current version- the Agile 23000- is probably similar in quality and sound.

Set neck, 2 P-90 style, you probably know already. The finish is not lacquer as stated in some other reviews. I believe it is a polyester finish of decent quality, but certainly not flawless. Nice color. There were a couple of drips and runs on the one I received. Not a big deal for the money. Overall, very nice construction.

The biggest disappointment for me was the neck-heavy weight imbalance of this guitar. A total deal breaker for me. I sent it back to Rondo.

Sound : 6
I was fairly pleased with the sounds of this guitar. Played through a Vox Pathfinder and a Peavey Delta Blues 210. Certainly pleasing for the money. Pickups did not appear to be reverse polarity for hum cancelling in the middle switch position. I would have installed some high end p-90's.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action was good. Set up decent. Did not mess with set up as I returned the guitar. Above mentioned finish flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Construction seemed solid. Tuners were low end Grovers. Held tune pretty well. Would have eventually up-graded them if I still had this axe.

Customer Support : 9
Rondo was responsive to my need to return this item. Although, they seem more like a mega-retailer than anything else.

Overall Rating : 5
Playing 30 plus years. Play LP's , Strats, G&L's. This would have been a sweet guitar but I could not deal with the neck-heavy imbalance. I love the style and design. The price is great. Construction solid. I would have loved to keep this guitar and upgrade all of the hardware and pick ups. I was disappointed with only the heavy neck.

Les paul junior style guiyar, all mahogany body, 24.75" scale, mine is a reddish-brown color. 2 P90 Pick Ups, 2 volume and 2 tone controls. Rosewood fretboard, closed tuners.

Sound : 10
This guitar sounds great, even with the stock ceramic p90's. Its a very expressive guitar, I can get it to talk once in a while. Really good for older rock, blues and western rock styles (it fits perfectly over Shel Silversteins Freakers' Ball album, if that means anything).
Also good for harder rock styles too, maybe thats an advantage of the high gain ceramic PUs?

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Mirror finish, really nice looking. Mine came set up a it screwey, I had to lower the bridge and I couldn't really get the intonation perfect, the bridge is at a slight angle and I can't move the E saddle any further back. I ended up leaving it and adjusting the neck slightly and dealing with slightly higher action than I would like.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Stays in tune well despite, very solid feel to the whole instrument. seems just a tad top heavy, if i stand with my it strapped tends to fall towards the neck.

Customer Support : 8
I asked Rondo about a Bigsby that would fit, and they didn't want to say anything other than that they did not support modifications to the instruments. I decided not to put one on, didn't think the slightly angled bridge would work well with one. Other than I have not contacted them.

Overall Rating : 9
I play mostly Rock styles and some traditional irish/scottish music as well as some modern americana style acoustic music. I also like Zappa, Pink floyd, Eddie Cochran and Robyn Hithcock, to name just a few.

2004 Korean-made. Awesome three-piece mohogany body. Standard Gibson layout, with 2 ceramic P-90 pickups. Some here have said their necks looked more like mohogany then maple. The neck on this guitar is definatly mohogany, which I was hoping for.
The brick-red stain on this guitar is the perfect color (SG Red) with a classic black headstock face. The headstock shape is different then what was shown, but looks great! I also ordered the hard case which is pretty impressive for the price.

Sound : 9
This is kind of tricky to rate. You see, I ordered this guitar for my 9-year-old, left-handed son (I play right handed) for his upcoming 10th birthday. About all I can do is pick notes and try to judge the sound from that. And I have to admit, it sounds very good! Great sustain (as you'd expect with a mohogany set-neck). I love P-90's and although these are ceramic as opposed to alnico, they sound really traditional. Not as warm, but good anyway. Keep in mind, two alnico P-90 Gibson pickups would cost more than this entire guitar! I'll have to go with a 9 because I can't really get down with this lefty!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Allright! The main reason I wanted to review this guitar.
This thing is built REALLY well! The attention to detail is very impressive and there are many "little" things that didn't get missed on this guitar. The finish is not "perfect" but it is beautiful. Remember, this is a Les Paul Jr. copy (as opposed to a Les Paul) and even the originals had a less expensive finish.
The body's seams are undetectable from the top and back. The only way to see them is by looking at the end grain. I thought that it must have a one-piece neck (couldn't find a seam here either) but I believe that the headstock is paddle-spliced, instead of the neck being spliced. Exactly like my '78 Les Paul Deluxe I used to own.
Set-up seems fine although I did put a set of Slinky 9's on it. It seems to hold tune well and all of the hardware is nice and installed strait.
Controls operate backwards as previously mentioned, but I don't think my son will mind. I wanted to straiten out the pickup selection switch along with the plate and found that the plate was glued to the body. I pried this up carefully and it and the switch now operate up and down. I did have to tighten the input jack which required me to remove the jack plate.
A few swirl marks on the back are noticable in the right light and the rosewood board was INCREDIBLY dry when I received it. I lemon-oiled the fingerboard when changing strings and the rosewood turned out to be awesome! Dark with uniform grain. The fret and nut job are top notch, neck size is incredibly comfy and the string action is as good as it gets! The fingerboard binding and MOP inlays are perfect also.
The only sign that this is a cheaper guitar is the truss rod cover. Unlike the pickguard, it is a single ply piece held in place by one screw. Didn't even notice this until the third time I was looking it over. I'm giving a 10 here because when was the last time you didn't have to do anything to a new guitar even after you spent a fortune on it?

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have to believe that this guitar would last as long as any similar constructed gutar, and there are Gibson's out there in the 40-year-old range.
Hardware looks fine, although at this price, you know its not brand name stuff. It should last as long as any. The finish seems durable and with proper care, will last also.
Strap buttons are huge and although they'll work fine, I'm sure my son will want strap locks like his old man has. I'll hang on to these and use them on another guitar.
I think you'd need another guitar, not as a backup, but just as an alternative in sound. P-90's are only so versitile. But I'd trust this as much as any.

Customer Support : 10
I feel if one is laying out thousands of dollars on a custom instrument, then one should contact the builder as often as needed. If that same person is ordering the worlds cheapest, good guitar out there, they shouldn't bother the vendor.
I guess I took my chances ordering this blindly (I did read these reviews!) and felt that if this guitar showed up and was a piece of crap, I'd send it back and never do business with Rondo again. Well, I'll do business with them again, many times. Thanks Rondo for giving the customer everything they expect and pay for.
I ordered this guitar much earlier then I needed it because Rondo was saying that supplies were running low. A week after I got it, it was nowhere to be found on the website!! I'd still be kicking myself had I procrastinated and not gotten this!

Overall Rating : 10
I've played for over 20 years and so my son has grown up around guitars his whole life. He has been taking acoustic lessons for two years and really wanted to move to the next level. I've looked long and hard for a decent quality lefty guitar at a fair price and wasn't finding much. Fender's lefties are poor quality as are all the Epiphones that I looked at. I play Deans and liked what they had to offer, but they couldn't touch Agiles prices.
I wanted to buy something that my son could grow with and not be embarassed to own once he gets into highschool. At that point, he can buy the lefty flying V's and Marshall stacks! I may install a Bigsby B-5 trem on it down the road, if my son wants to. He sure liked the Bigsby on my Telecaster, but that's way down the road.
He'll get this guitar for his birthday in November, and although I already pick him up a Roland 408X (combo stack) amp, his mother told me that I'll have to wait until Christmas to give him that! He'll either have to live with my Pignose or my main tube rig until then. Poor little guy!!
I imagine he'll (I'll) purchase plenty more guitars from Rondo as they seem to understand that left-handed players have been "left" out for too long. I'm constantly checking the Rondo site for new additions to their lefty collection, just waiting for that next perfect guitar. Rondo and Agile are AWESOME!

New model as far as I know and made in Korea. It has 22 frets and is a solid top with typical 2 volume 2 tone config. Cheaper ceramic P-90's for pick-up's and it's passive (of course). All mahogany body with mahogany neck with a shiny laquer finish. Les Paul jr. style body i.e. double cutaway. Has decent tuners ala grover with nick fret and over-all finish work over the entire guitar itself. Did not come with a case, but I purchased one with it from Rondo.

Sound : 8
I play classic rock and blues type of music, so it definatly suits me well. I use it with my Roland blues cube 30 and it is not noisy at all no matter what setting I use. Has a pretty typical sound of a ceramic pick-up, not BAD sounding at all, but compared to an original alnico pick-up, there's no comparison. Besides, the ceramic pick-up's are a bit too hot for me, so I might change 'em out later. It actually get a great variety of tones and overall, I honestly don't have any gripe with much anything else besides the above mentioned.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The guitar was surprisingly well set-up when I got it with the exception of the intonation (isn't it alaways). Pick-up's and everything seemed to look pretty well done. Only thing I did was raise the bridge pick-up a hair, but that's just my thing, it was set-up fine though. Frets were done super nice and I can only find 2 TINY flaws in the laquer (not a big deal since they are in places you'll never see them). Great job on the nut and the filing of it. Only thing that was loose on it was the jack nut, but easy enough fix with a socket, right?

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar will for sure get gigged with. I think the hardware will last, but I'd like to change out the tune-o-matic piece for a machined bridge because these cheaper bridges seem to be made of pot-metal. I am confident the finish will hold up for years and the strap buttons are nice and tight and I do feel I can depend on this guitar. I would use this guitar ANYTIME without a backup.

I have dealt with Rondo. This is the second instrument I've bought from them within a 2-3 month period. On the first purchase they were marginally friendly but helpful and on my 2nd purchase they've been flat-out terrible to me. They quoted me a price and sent the instrument to me and then I get my card statement to find out they've added a 2nd charge on there when the guitar was "on sale" (or so they said). I tried to clarify this with them via e-mail, but all I got was a snotty reply. I have no idea on a warranty, but I won't take it to them.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for 25 years and own a 335 and a Roland blues cube amp. I'm happy with the guitar, but I didn't appreciate the rudeness and helping themselves to make additional charges on my card with no e-mail's to check with me when there apparently was a problem with the quote I got from Kurt at Rondo. If it were stolen, it would be a real shame, but I won't buy from them again. As far as everything on the guitar is concerned, I really like it, but it would've been better if it had alnico pick-up's installed at the factory, but you get what you pay for. This guitar is SO close in every way to a Gibson. I actually compare this guitar to a 65 Epiphone olympic I had (and I missed so much till this guitar came along). I really couldn't ask for anything more on this instrument without it costing alot more. I might get a bigsby on it at some point like I plan on doing to my 335.

Agile model AD-2200 Jr. lefted handed made in 2004 - made in Korea. This is a double cutaway, 2 pickup LP Jr. type guitar. 22 frets - 24-3/4" scale. The body is 3 piece mahogany flat slab. Very nice reddish/brown finish. The neck is supposed to be maple, but the grain looks much more like mahogany. Finely polished jumbo frets. The neck profile is slimmer than I expected, no baseball bat here. Very comfortable and action is low. Controls are volume and tone for each pickup and a 3 way selector switch. Pickups are P-90 type. Has separate bridge and tailpiece. Tuners are Grovers (nice touch).

Sound : 10
I play Classic Rock and Blues and this guitar really fills the void between and Strat and a Les Paul. My main amp is a Marshall 4010 1X12 50 watt combo and I use Boss pedals - OD-3, DS-1, DM-2, CH-2, TR-2 along with a Vox wah. The P-90's are subject to 60 cycle hum when used individually, but are humbucking when used together. Just the nature of the beast with P-90's. The Pickups sound great. The neck PU has nice bottom and clear highs - much more full range than a humbucker. The bridge is brighter and punchy. Chimey when the amp is clean and grindy and punchy with overdrive.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action was low right out of the box. The neck had a small amount of relief. I did have to tweak the intonation. The nut is cut quite well - no pinching. My only complaint is that the pots were wired backwards - 0 being full on and 10 being off. This is typical of most lefties and I had to rewire the controls to make the knobs read in the right direction. I'm not sure why manufactures do this. I think that most of us would like to have the number on the knob match the setting. With this niggle, I rate this a 9.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is lightweight, yet feels very solid. The strap buttons are large and should hold a strap securely. I put Strap-lok buttons on all my guitars. The finish appears that it will be durable. I would use this guitar without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Just got it yesterday - so far, so good.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 34 years. Up to now I've primarily played a Strat or a Les Paul. This is my first guitar with P-90's, and I love the sound. It is brighter and has more clarity than the Les Paul, and has more grunt and grind than the Strat. Last night on a gig, I started the night with the Agile, and then switched to my Strat and the Strat sounded anemic in comparison. Don't get me wrong, I love the Strat, but the P-90's put you into a different realm. I've wanted a solidbody guitar with P-90's for quite some time, but there are very few lefties available and what's out there is expensive. This guitar is an unbelievable value. This guitar rivals others costing 2 or 3 times more. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this guitar again. I will be looking at others in the Agile line as well. Great guitar at a very affordable price!

2004 Korean made Les Paul Jr special double cut copy with 2 P-90s. Grover Tuners. It looks like a three piece Mohogany body, well seamed (I had to look at the end grain to determine how many pieces). Dyed "SG" red with high gloss finish. Two volume, two tone controls.
22 fret "Gibson" short scale bound neck. Tune-O-Matic bridge. Well Chromed hardware.

Sound : 9
Classic P90 sound. Played Clean, it's almost strat-like. When pushed, the pickups will bark and growl like a piss-off Pit bull...lots of bottom.
There is a bit of single coil hum but not enough to be distracting.
I didn't even notice it at first.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
My first impression was: This ain't no Gibson. (A Look at my checkbook confired it). Don't get me wrong, the seams, joints and finish are impeccable. It's just that my overall impression is that The finish is a little too cold and un-natural...too many epoxy clear coats.
Then I picked it up and played it...
The neck remined me of my 69 SG standard ..thin but not cramped. I love this neck. To me, it the best part of this guitar.
My initial minor disappoitment turned to complete satisfaction.
She's a player.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Right now, everything is solid. No Buzzes, no rattles, no pops.

Customer Support : 10
Rondo is the king. We e-mail back and forth for 3 days before we sealed the deal. He answered all my e-mails within hours. The guitar was shipped the same day of the purchase.

Overall Rating : 9
This is the best $250.00 guitar that I've ever owned.
If I had paid $500.00, it would still be the best.
I've been playing for 40 years. I've owned everything from hagstrom to Jackson. I played short stints in "bar bands" but mostly weekends with friends. It's hard to justify a $3000.00 guitar for my playing habits. That's why this Agile is the perfect guitar for me. It would stand up to bar circuit abuse (better than I would)...no doubt in my mind.
If stolen, I'd definately replace it.
