Bought this used. Made in Korea 22 fret Les Paul copy. Standard controls. Flat back paint with chrome weighed in @ 9lb on the company shipping scale. Stock Pups I don't really know what the body is made of but it is solid wood set neck good feel. The thing is these cheaper guitars usually need fret work. Not this one. Great fit and finish even though black isn't necessarily what I was after. Got it with a case and a couple pedals in a trade for a tribute S-500. Very happy I did.One flaw though bad solder on the switch made the front pickup stay on.

After fixing the switch and adding a bass and treble control aka G&L/ reverend This guitar sings. Sustain is great. I play a classic 30 peavey with a fulltone gt 500 to drive it. Boss time based stuff and a customized schecter c1ea. For rock and classic rock it has the tone. For Blues just roll off the bass a bit and again you have the tone. This guitar has a wide tonal pallet. It is not a strat but thats what you get a strat for. It does pull off the tele stuff. I like the fact that this guitar has great sustain and is solid.

Like I said I got it used but it is in great shape. Everything was done really well. I am planning on gigging with it Saturday and am sure the only reason to change guitars will be to grab my acoustic.

If it wasn't for the solder problem on the switch this would get highest marks. But QC failed a touch.

Normally I dont care for a dark sound or any muddiness of heavy humbucking laden guitars but the trick was to run through devices to expand the sound base( my little pandora 4 ,punch up the compressor, echo etc) and I love it.With the so-called cheap ceramic p/ups it comes alive .One of my kids with his strat take offs with upgraded to pick ups etc.,can't put it down.no noise,no scratching pots.I wish it had coil split but no big deal.Won't change electronics till its warranted

Tribal Green, gold hardware.Looks sharp, alot better than on Rondo website.I got it on close out so beggars can't be choosers.Did the basic adjustments. The match, fit and finish will match anything out there,I love Korean guitars .Right up there with anyone.Of course I would rather buy an American guitar,I had enough of them in my time but now there is no way to afford a decent one in this day and age so better something than nothing.(I had an old Korean tele and wish I still had it.Braided wiring to pups, brass grounding plates etcFANTASTIC.)Great binding job on this thing as with everything else

bangin on guitars alot of years since the Jaquar was a big deal the first time around.Had one of them, old Rick ,newer 360,73 sg special, now a Gretsch 6119 1962ht,and dogs of one stripe or another. What I love about this guitar is it didnt cost a fortune and dont have to walk on eggshells with it.a great player, great quality, and I don't mean just good, take the name off,put on elixers and close your eyes or better yet, leave them open. You won't bury your head on this one.SO WHAT if it says Agile, its what you do with it that counts.Kids are spending 3-400 bucks n these old catalog guitars and teiscos on ebay, are they nuts,I can rember these pigs when they were first out...GARBAGE THEN GARBAGE NOW,THEY ARE NOT Fenders or Gibsons of that era, they are junk...get an Agile

If you close your eyes, you can hear the Les Paul in this thing. I play hard rock/metal music. The active pickups are great. The 85 in the neck is nice and thick, very bluesy. The 81 in the bridge cuts thru very nicely. Pinch harmonics are great. I use a Randall RG50TC tube amp.

I bought this thing brand new just this December. I've been playing 16 yrs and have had many different guitars and amp combinations. For the money, NO WAY is there a better guitar out there brand new. This is now my favorite guitar. The comfort and playability are just what I wanted. I have a MIM Strat that I hot rodded w/ a JB from Seymour and a Lace humbucker in the neck, upgraded tremolo and locking tuners and it is nothing compared to this. If you play blues type hard rock or heavy metal, get this guitar because if you buy a Gibson over this, you are a fool! Gibson is all advertising. BUY THIS GUITAR! You won't regret it.

I have been playing for 40 years and I have owned a lot of guitars. I have been a Carvin man for many years but I could not pass up on this ax at this price. I am already wanting to get another. Why??? At this price.. why not??!!
I have owned and played several Gibson's and I've never been a big Gibson fan because they are too over priced. I L-O-V-E this guitar. It is every bit as good as a genuine LP at a SUPER reasonable price.
What would make it a 10? I've never really liked Grover tuners. Not bad but not my favorite either.

Unamped it is very dark sounding due to the 12 lbs of mahogany in the beast.
It has emg active pickups which scream thru most any decent amp. I use it thru 2 bagera tube heads & thru a crate gt3500 slaved to a randall rh200sc power section.(practice rig & saves my tubes}
Metal...!

I had to do some neck adjustmens & run a radius block down the neck a few passes as it had 2 high spots on 2 frets at the 14 frte on the b string & the 15 on the a string. After doing so it is the best playing guitar , easily on par w/ any gibson I have owned (6 in all).
I give it a 7 prior to my work... a 9 after.

This guitar weighs near 12 lbs & kills small mammals at close range. If you can`t gig w/ this ... YOU are an *******!!

30 years of playin`. Have owned 60 or more guitars( thanks ebay!?). Lots of amps & gear.
Relevant to this axe for a referance:
2 gibson lespaul studios
1 Gibson lespaul standard
1 esp ltd ec 1000
This agile cost half what the esp cost, 1/4 of what the studios cost & 1/9 of what the standard costs...
...and I **** you not!
The Agile eats the ESP`s lunch.
It is a better made better playing guitar than the studios.
It can go toe to toe w/ a standard all day !!
Keep in mind maybe I got a real nice agile on a good day or maybe all 3 gibsons I had were lemons( not likely) but know this...
If you pay $2300 for a guitar it should be flawless !
If you pay $1300 it should have level frets !
If you pay $900 you do expect quality...
If you pay under $400 you dont expect it to be a better guitar than the above...however it is.

Guitar has good resonance, pickups will be replaced soon - they are a bit low output for me, and they're gold - I really dispise gold hardware
Guitar is noise free, even with low output pups I can still eek out pinch harmonics, but my mistakes show up with low output pups. The neck pups is nice.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

Lowered the action....tightened the stop tail for tighter response, done - heven't even intonated it yet. No fret buzz anywhere.
Guitar is spot on. The green quilt top is very dark - I like it, kind of a black green. Match looks good.
No noticable flaws - the porduction of these guitars is really quite good. Two piece mahogany body.
Guitar has a dent by the input jack (hence the $100.00 discount) but its not in any way on a place that matters to me.
Controls were good - but gold knobs, I'm not fond of gold knobs.
Gold hardware - not fond of gold hardware either.

I bought this because I know this guitar is SOLID. the Agile AL series, especially the AL2000/AL2500/AL2800 are superior guitars for their consistency and how they just stay in tune.
Hardware is gold and will be yanked - not fond of gold. I have other Agiles and that's why I bought this one.
strap buttons will be replaced with strap locks - I just like them
Can be depended on absolutely
I could gig without a backup but what's the point? I buy the Agiles to play, swap for tunings, and enjoy multiple guitars for different songs.

Rondo - they rock - I sent another back the other day and they already refunded my money. Sent it back because they sent me a lefty instead of a Righty - no problem, no compaints and no issues.
Haven't needed to get it repaired but have had to replace a few others and rondo replaced very quickly

Been playing since 1980, own 16 guitars from Ibanez, Fender, Agile and Washburn, a Marshal JCM2000 DSL50, Peavey Ultra Plus, 2 4x12 cabinets and assorted pedals.
If stolen - I'd buy a new one.
I love ther playability and solid feel of the 25.7" scale and the neck.
I have gold hardware! Wish it was wider - 1 11/16" - big hands need wider fretboard for open chords. Really like the dark green quilt
chose this guitar because it was a B stock and cheaper - I tend to dent my guitars anyway.
Wish these guitars had four conductor pickups and coil tap volume/tone swtches.
the Agile AL series guitars are great - the AL2000/Al2500/AL2800 have maple necks which make them slightly brighter and tighter sounding than the AL3000 with the Mahogany necks, more like the Gibson. Personally I've growen to like both options and love the price point of these guitars. the only issue I have is that I can't play evey one of my Agiles at each sitting - they take too long.

Sounds great. I think it could do about any kind of music. Pickups are surprisingly good for a 250$ guitar. I play mine through a 76 Fender Vibro Champ with a Metal Muff and a Weeping Demon Wah. Gives me a great sound.

It was set up decent, I of course had to do some adjustments being the perfectionist I am. Hardware is beautiful. Finish is good too, but not without it's flaws. There's a tiny dot of paint about the size of a pinhead on the back (barley noticeable). I can also see the seam on the back where the two pieces of wood meet. In unnoticeable areas the paint can straggle onto the binding a minuscule amount, nothing major enough to steer you away from the guitar. Overall it's still an extremely beautiful guitar.

This is the Albino model of the Al-2500, Agiles low end LP copy. The body is solid mahogany top with a natural finish. It has a 22 fret maple neck with block inlays. Tune-o-matic bridge, jumbo frets, and Grover tuners. I had expected on a guitar in this price range to change out the pickups but I was quite happy when the stock pups (wax potted humbuckers) sounded great out of the box. It has two volume and two tone controls. The guitar was made in Korea. The price was $269.00.

I am running thru a Avatar half cab using Vintage 30 speakers, and a 75 watt Line 6 Spider two head. I play mostly old school metal and it handles the sound just fine.. having the classic LP chunky sound.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

It came set up pretty well out of the box, but I took it to Wild West Guitars in Riverside, Ca. and had it set up the second day I had it. The tech said it didn't need much tweeking but he reradiased the Tune-O-Matic bridge to match the neck, shimmed the nut, and did a slight adjust on the truss rod.. the intonation was spot on when he was finished. Wild West handles high end guitars and he commented on how nice the frets were comparing them to much more expensive guitars.
The finish was nearly flawless, with only two slight blimishes.. one on the side and one on the back in the clear coat.
The only problem I had was the plastic tip on the pickup switch was broken in shipment. Kurt at Rondo Music shipped a new one out which I got in less than a week after getting the guitar.

It seems very sturdy, built like a tank. I would gig with this without a backup easily. The strap buttons were fine but I switched to Duncan locking buttons as soon as I took it out of the box. The finish looks durable but the pick guard scratched easily.

I have been playing less than a year. My only other guitar is a Epi Special Two. If this guitar was lost or stolen I would certainly buy the exact same guitar again. I love everything about it and hate nothing. I can not recommend Agile guitars more highly. I compared it with Epiphone Les Pauls, Gibson faded Les Pauls, PRS SE's, and a few others.. for the price you simply can not beat this guitar. It blows the low end Epi's out of the water and is every bit as good the Gibson and PRS. The tech at Wild West said if this guitar was made in the states you couldn't touch it for less than a grand.
By far the most impressive thing about the Albino is its looks.. I know looks are subjective.. but it is just stunning. How can a guitar in this price range look so good...
I also want to comment on the case I got from Rondo. It only cost $60 and is much nicer than the $120 SKB case I got from Guitar Center for my Epi.

I have a 22 fret, pearl white agile al2500 with tremolo. I bought it on ebay in 2006 because as soon as I saw it I thought it was the most beautifully laid out and finished guitar I had ever seen. there are two volume and two tone knobs and a pickup selector, as well as some good looking inlaid fret markers. the guitar is all one piece with a solid build and a built in neck. beautiful.
Sound
:

this guitar is crunchy! right out of the box it has a pretty solid sound. although if you want brite you really have to set everything to the most "treble" because it has a fat sound in any other setting, which is good if your a rythym guitarist. either way you can get a broad range of sounds. not a legendary sound by any means but definetly a quality one. havnt noticed any noise, it fits my style perfectly.

the reason i bought this guitar was, i know its shallow, for its beautiful look. this is without a doubt the most flawlessly beautiful guitar i have ever seen. pearl white, no flaws, this guitar just glows. it looks as good or better straight out of the box than many $5000 guitars, for less than $300. no problems at all that i could find, and worth every penny as far as im concerned.

Sound

The sound on this guitar is as full as the stock Gibson Les Paul sound (and, yes, I've played 'em - a lot - I've been playing almost 3 decades...just an FYI). I personally like a lot more 'chunk' in my bridge position, so, just like on my sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard - I switched out the bridge pickup for a Gibson Iommi....magnificent (pinch harmonics, tapping, shredding...the sound is brilliant! [for me...remember 'your' sound is 'your' sound]) The remaining two stock Agile pickups are fine and do not create unwanted feedback.
I must say, I love the feel of this guitar so much that after changing the pickup in the bridge I had a professional put in new wiring & pots (to include a push/push for the middle pickup)...cost $80 (wiring) + $100 (p/u) - result=Priceless! (rated a 9 for stock sound - but an 'eleven' with the new Iommi p/u, wiring/pots.)

...this is where I have to laugh at price/name brand snobs (like Chris below).... A $275 guitar can, and has (numerous times now-a-days) surpassed the set-up and, unfortunately, quality control of a $1000+ guitar (I'm talking Gibson - resting on their name for the last few years). The action was as good as any I've played or previously owned. The fit was excellent and the finish exemplary (my rhythm guitarist $4000 Ace Frehley limited edition Gibson Les Paul has many flaws and does not play any better).
Reliability/Durability

This guitar has and, I'm sure, will continue to be gig-worthy. It's a bloody tank! The hardware is solid, the finish deep, and electronics (especially now that I had them upgraded) wonderful (I can't speak for the stock wiring, but the pickups and switch were just fine). I replaced the strap buttons as the stock are quite large, but, I'm an active guitar player and this heavy beast needed more to keep the strap in place. For a non-'jumper' the straps are just fine.

I utilize this guitar during gigs in Drop tuning and swap it with my Dean Black and Gold flying V and my Westone Dimension IV (my beauty from the eighties) for standard tuning. My Agile is a big part of my rig and I'd have to replace it and all its components if it were lost/stolen/destroyed. I compared (and continue to compare) it to many-many-guitars and I continue to love it!!!

There are a bunch of posts, so you know the specs. Mine is a Silverburst with chrome hardware. This guitar is quite good for the money. It would be quite good for 3 times a much. Plays as good or better than 90% of the Gibson Les Paul Standards I have played. It sounds completely authentic with the stock pups. Very low action. Great all around guitar. Grovers are a big plus.

The action, fit and finish are unbelievable for a guitar in this price range. The frets are well dressed, there are no fret end issues. The nut is cut cleanly. The neck is true and the action is incredibly low without any buzz. The paint job is better than most gibbys that come out of the factory these days. The electronics and hardware are of good quality, and installation is spot on. As mentioned before, the grover tuners are a big plus. Most gibbys the days come with Klusons, and the grovers blow them away.

I live about an hour from Rondo music, who seems to be the main supplier of the Agiles. I went to the store and played this one first, then about 20 more of these... They were all great... however, I wanted a silverburst. I would buy another one in a minute. The guys at Rondo were awesome... Spent time with me, and helped me pick out various guitars to try. They said if I have any issues with the guitar to bring it right back to them. A+++ service.

I love this guitar. Although it is made in Korea, to me it still possesses the american heritage so loved in the les paul. The two humbuckers pick up the sound great. The sunburts finish was perfect other than one little spot that u have to be looking for to find. The grover tuners hold the tuning in perfect key. I didnt buy a case, but instead went to musicians friend and ordered an epiphone les paul hardshell case, and it fit in perfectlly.

Play rock and blues. Well at least rock and blues riffs. I'm a very old newbie (think the guitar is a mid life crisis purchase). Anyway, suits my style fine. Am running this through a Digitech Bad Monkey pedal to a VOX AD30VT modeling amp. Guitar has plenty of sustain, sounds great when played without the amp. Can certainly get nice bell like rich full tones on clean amp models. Gets a little muddy when playing chords even with little or no distortion (perhaps my playing technique). I find the bridge pickup to be especially muddled on chords. Neck pick-up is not as bad. I've tried lots of different PU heights. The neck PU sounds fairly decent when raised up close to the strings. On strings, I changed the originals for Elixer Nanoweb strings (great improvement over the originals provided with the guitar). Have'nt been able to get a really good crunchy or chunky sound out of this guitar yet, still trying. I was thinking about upgrading to an SD 59 in the neck and SD JB4 in the bridge but I saw a post in HC forum where someone had tried this set up and couldn't tell the difference from the orignal Agile ceramic PU's.

Action was not great when I got this guitar. Took me a couple weeks to figure out why it was so hard to play notes at the first fret (newbie remember). I realized that whoever cut the nut on this guitar never really finished the job. The strings were way to high 10-20 thou to high! I ended up cutting the nut myself to lower the strings down. I might of cut one of them a bit low as I started to get a bit of buzz a couple months later when I played that string open. I've now changed out the plastic (graphite nut) for an "Ibony" bone nut from Pete's Music Center www.petesmusic.net. Bone is easy to cut and polishes up nice. Thanks Pete for the free sample blanks! Also had to file down one high fret (20th fret or there abouts, under the high E string)nothing major. On to finish=> My guitar had a number of small bubbles in the finish at the end of head stock. Was also missing a bit of black paint at the end of the headstock. I also had what I thought was a cut in the binding (now think it's just a flaw/hair in the clear coat). Guitar also had some bleeding or overspray of black into the binding but pretty minor. The rest of the guitar looks great. I e-mailed Kurt at Rondo about the flaws and he was quick to offer to replace it (see customer service). I would have given this category an 8 or 9 except for the poorly cut nut so it's a 7.

For me, this is a hobby guitar so I can't really say if it is suitable for gigs. Nothing has broken on it so far, and I've had it about a year. On the finish, you need to be real careful when you unscrew anthing (like the PU rings, or the cover to access the truss rod) from any part of the guitar that's been painted or coated as the coating pulls up or chips easily. Has good strap buttons. Haven't had any problems with the hardware.

Took very little time to get this guitar once ordered and customs cost (Canadian) wasn't as bad as I'd expected. I was planning on changing out the pickguard, three way switch and the PU rings to white/cream. While I offered to pay extra for these items, Kurt threw these in free with the order! Thanks Kurt. This is a great looking guitar, but when I first got it, I was concerned with the flaws especially on the binding. I e-mailed Kurt at Rondo, he was quick to reply and helpful. Kurt agreed to offer me a reasonable discount on the guitar (which I took). Saved the hassle of shipping it back, customs, etc. I'd also ordered loose AL2800 PU's with this guitar but Rondo shipped the ceramic PU's by mistake. Kurt was quick to refund me my money on these also. I'd say after sales service was great. Kurt was quick to reply and my dealings with him were hassle free. I wish Rondo would check their guitars a little closer before they're shipped though.

As I mentioned before, this is great looking LP copy. Even with shipping, customs, etc. the price was a good $200 CDN cheaper than what I could have gotten an Epiphone LP standard for. The neck on this guitar is nice and straight and I find it quite comfortable to play. Guitar is a bit heavy for an old guy but I'm gettin use to it. I'd consider buying another Agile LP (probably a 2800 or 3000).

made in korea in 2005. 22 frets, mahogany body with maple top. maple set-neck with rosewood fingerboard. chrome humbuckers, toggle selector, 2 volume and 2 tone controls. it has grover tuners and tune 0 matic bridge. really nice cherry sunburst finish with no flaws. binding is also very nice.

I have a Gibson LP standard and this Agile feels pretty close to the real thing. The pickups are i bit thin perhaps, but I changed the crappy factory originals in the gibson with burstbuckers. I might do the same with the agile. other than that, it plays very nice, has a really fast neck and the fretwork along the edges feels beautifully manicured.

The guitar came with a pretty decent setup, it played well right out of the box. no adjustments were necessary even though I like low action, so I lowered it a tad. the electronics are avarage but feel like they're of good quality. hardware is nice and shiny and is also of decent quality. the nut is graphite.

this is my 16th year of guitar playing. I gig weekly and spend considerable amount of time in my home studio. All in all, I think this guitar is a great buy. The quality is very high for a really decent price. As the other reviewer said, the epiphones don't stand a chance... Sure, you can buy a gibson and yes, it will be nice, (I own one and love it) but be ready to spend 5 X as much. I definitely must say that buying this agile was money well spent.

2005 les paul knock-off Made in Korea. 3 piece mahogany body with a flamed maple cap. Striking translucent amber finish that looks like nitro but probably isn't. 24.75" scale maple neck and rosewood board. Ceramic chrome covered humbucker pickups. Medium jumbo frets, grover tuners and tune-o-matic bridge/tailpiece. no accessories included. It came well packed in a double cardboard box.

Sounds and feels like a Gibson Les Paul no matter what amp I play it through. The pickups are average and the neck pickup could be better. However, it sounds convincingly like a real Paul. The only thing that's different, in fact, is the headstock shape and the more rounded horn on the body.

Flawless. Action, fit and finish are flawless. Only thing I did when I opened the box was to lower the action a bit. Frets are even and the neck feels very fast, a 10 lbs guitar - feels very expensive, yet I just paid $239. The pots and switch seem ok, haven't had any trouble. The nut seems like plastic, although they advertize it as graphite...no complaint there, it does the job real well.

I plan on getting another Agile, maybe a 2800 or 3000 model. My epiphones are no match for these guitars, money or quality wise. They are well worth their modest price and are of pro quality, in fact, they very well give the gibson counterparts a run for thier money. I'm a left-handed player and having found a quality instrument such as this, I'll never look to another gibson or fender again. They are just not worth it anymore.

I believe this is a 2005 model made in Korea. It's a beautiful blue flame maple top. It has 2 volume, 2 tone controls along with the 3-way toggle for pickup selection. It comes stock with two agile humbuckers. Of course, this is a Les Paul look-a-like and does a great job of doing so. You could stick "Gibson" across the headstock and think it was the real thing. Oh yeah, Grover tuners 18:1 ratio.

Been playing a Fender Tele for so long and just wanted something meaner. I researched all the Agile/SX guitars like mad and finally settled on this one. I heard a clip online of one of these, but it did not prepare me for the real live action thrill I got playing this thing. I had to turn both tone knobs to the most "trebleliest" setting to get a good sound. I was just running through a 15watt practice amp but it's crankin, man.
A strange thing is the static I get when the volume is low comparied to when I turn it to 10. On 10 it's almost silent, but low volumes produce a sshhhh. A boss ns-2 might be handy here. The sound itself is very meaty all the time, but still has the ability to cut through so bright it's blinding, or deafening.

The factory setup was kind of crappy. The strings were really low and were some of the worst strings I've ever put my fingers on. I played it maybe 2 minutes and decided to put my preferred Elixers on. I adjusted the intonation and raised the pickup at the neck/lowered the bridge pickup and now it's just peachy! The paint job is beautiful, but there are plenty of flaws. Small white spots are scattered on the rounded edge of the body and there is a little blue mixed in on the binding in places, but not too noticable. Other than that everything looks splendid. i could probably stand to adjust the truss rod now to better fit my playing style.

This thing is tough. Heavy duty all the way to the show and back. If anything goes bad, I could see the pots needing changing because of the static issue. I've heard of some crackling after a while. I got this piece because I wanted something bigger sounding than my Tele, and I think it will do. Only time will tell if it will last as long though. This is my only humbucking guitar, so I guess I wouldn't use a (humb) backup. I'll keep my Tele around though.

Been playing for almost 10 years. I own a Randall 75wt 112 amp; Fender Tele; Epiphone Acoustic; Samick Elec/Acoustic; numerous effects pedals/board. If this were stolen, lost or abused beyond recognition, I would definately get a new one, or maybe a prestige model.- to my wife hint, hint. I love the color, mean sound and overall playability. I compared this guitar to several low-dollar-Gibsons, Epiphones, SXs, and so many other LP copies and came to the conlusion that this is the best value that you can get on an LP. I wish it had some better pickups, pots, and straplocks, but hey, this thing was cheap enough already. I'll just upgrade it for cheaper than any other model with some great stuff. Clown OUT!

I've been playing for 25 years and have owned a dozen guitars. The great thing about this guitar is that it allows for more tonal variety than any other guitar I've owned. Also the sustain is good for a guitar at this price. I have played $1000 guitars that did not have the sound and sustain that this guitar has.
I'm sure folks want to know the difference between these P-90 guitars and other more traditional Les Pauls and Epiphones. I have both, so I can do the side-by-side. Although with carefull tweaking of knobs you can get many traditional Les Paul sounds out of this guitar -- have no doubt -- you have to already know what to hear for. A Les Paul with humbuckers produces those "round-bell-like" sustaining tones very easily. In fact, it can be hard to stop it from doing that if you want to go in another direction. I think a better comparison is with an SG. The AL-2500 P90 *can* have more of a growl, like an SG, like Angus or Neil young. The pickups are a little hotter, and tintier than humbuckers.
Tip: put the tone knob in the 1-3 range, turn all 3 pickup knobs to 0, use pickup selector, dial in sound with the pickup knob(s), then adjust with tone knob. This makes it easier to explore sonic possibilities. With most guitars you dont have to reset back to "zero" to explore. With this one, it helps to explore from a zero position, so to speak.
This is also good for electric slide guitar. You can really dial in very different tones. For instance I had NO trouble getting a Derek Trucks "make a joyful noise" tone. I am using a VOX Tonelab too, so imagine the palette of sounds with these 2 peices of gear. But I mean musically useful sounds/patches. I also get a real nice Clapton "crossroads blues" sound for instance.

Here's where the other reviews strike me as a little naive. A 200$ guitar is not going to have the same workmanship and detail that a 1000$ guitar has. However, I'd say the workmanship here is about at the level of a $500 Epiphone, maybe a wee bit less. So hey, not bad, relative to dollars invested.

Overall the guitar is heavy-ish, in a good way, and seems to be solid. But only time will tell. I think with these budget knock-offs it's a bit of a hit or miss kind of thing. If you get a decent one you will have found a real bargain. I bought one sight unseen(a first for me) and I'm happy with it.

I play mostly classic rock & heavy metal with this through a Behringer V-AMPIRE LX112, and let me tell you this guitar has sustain that lasts forever! The sounds created by this guitar range from mild to throaty, and is an aural pleasure.

For me, this AL-2500 came set-up just how I like, Low Action. none of the hardware appears cheap, and the best part of the hardware has got to be the tuners. The tuners are very precise, and I have very few problems staying in tune. The wood is stunning for a sub-$200 guitar, the only thing that I would really change for aesthetics is the volume and tone knobs, as they are not really good quality. For a budget Les Paul copy this can't be beat in quality.

I don't play in a band or do gigs, since I am only a hobbyist, bit I do feel very confident in the guitar's ablity to be a performer whether on stage or just playing for enjoyment. This is an update of my previous review with the cracked neck and the issue with Customer Service not wanting to send a replacement. Rondo music did go ahead and ship me a replacement which I have had now for about 2 weeks. The replacement guitar is just excellent. Didn't find any flaws on the finish this time around and, of course, the neck is just fine.

Like I had mentioned in my previous post, even with the cracked neck, I liked the sound on the guitar. This replacement has a wonderful smooth sustain on the neck pickup and a harder crunch on the bridge. Between the two pickups and some tweaking on the knobs, one can get a full spectrum of great guitar sounds out of this thing. I happen to like the sound of the stock ceramic pickups that came with the guitar.

Neck was set up too straight with strings too low. Got a lot of fret buzz which was easily eliminated by loosening the truss rod a tad. Interesting, most stock guitars are set up the exact opposite. I'll usually tighten the truss rod and lower the strings. I think on the replacement Rondo really put in the time to properly set up and intonate this guitar. It fine for most people, but I'm a bit heavy handed so usually prefer a higher action so I don't have to deal with fret buzz.

The replacement feels solid. I don't think I'd have any problems taking this on the road. LP's are notorious for cracked necks, so I'm gonna give the benefit of the doubt to the first guitar they shipped me.

Overall, even with the one bad experience, I'm gonna weigh in the factor of friends who've bought from Rondo and have only nice things to say about Kurt. I think he might have just made an honest mistake in my case. Nevertheless, after I told Rondo that I'd be posting a review of my experiences here on harmony central, they were quick to respond that a replacement would be shipped. I've also recomended Rondo to another friend looking to purchase.

Overall, after 2 weeks with the replacement, I am impressed with this guitar. I don't think you can purchase a better LP copy in the same price range. I'm hoping this guitar will age nicely as I plan to keep it a while. It's pretty heavy and feels very solid when you play. after some setup, it plays very well for me. While the ceramics sound pretty decent to me, I'm probably gonna change them in the future. One minor critique, the volume and tone knobs really don't have much range to them. I'm pretty sure the snafu on the customer service was an isolated incident and have no problems recomending Rondo to friends.

Out of the box I was not impressed with the guitar and was going to return it for a refund. On a whim I decided to record a couple of tracks with this guitar. I am recording tracks for my band's new CD and my rig is all set up and ready to go. So I plug the guitar into my rig and hit record and WOW! This guitar sounds great! I was pleasantly and very unexpectedly suprised by what heard - and this is with the stock pickups and nothing changed except for a new set of strings. The tracks are keepers. I am going to post some clips for those who are interested. Email me at fsilano AT frankencat DOT com and I will send you the url. Afterwards I replaced the stock pickups with a Seymour Duncan 59 neck and Peraly Gates bridge and it now has that nice fat signature LP sound. Very impressed here. An outstanding Gibson LP being a 10 and a basic good sounding LP being a 9 I will give this a 9 here.

Routing is a little rough and finish has flaws and is sloppily applied in spots. It looks ok overall but IMHO they could have spent 5 more minutes and made it that much better but once the clear is on you are stuck with it - oh well, for the money I can live with it. The guitar is VERY playable and the fret job is actually pretty decent. It plays clean all the way up and down the neck with no buzzes or wierdness of any kind. Actually better in that respect than my USA Fender Strat. The fretboard is very flat and that probably contributes to it. Finish flaws and rough routing aside, it plays great and the actual color of the guitar is pretty nice, basically the same as the old classic Gibson finish. Electronics are fine, they used Alpha pots and the wiring is decent. I have seen worse on Gibsons. I am going to give a 7 here.

Cons:
Finish flaws, multi-piece body, sloppy routing, wierd rosewood fingerboard (actually not that bad but it looked very strange at first, it came back to life after cleaning and applying some lemon oil to it).
Pros:
Sounds great, plays great, looks decent, decent electronics and pickups, costs $224 shipped! Really came up a couple of notches after a good setup and pickup replacement.
Bottom line:
Even though I was initially put off by the fit and finish, after a proper setup and after playing it for a couple of days I have to say that this is a great value and recommend that if you are thinking of trying one of these out, it is hard to lose - even with the cons. Just know that you are not getting a USA Gibson for $199 like so many other reviews on the internet would have you believe. What you are getting though is a good sounding, good playing LP copy that will serve the purpose for those of us looking for a good giggable alternative to a high-priced USA GIbson. P.S. I have a feeling the up-line models are much better and possibly rival much more expensive guitars. I am thinking of getting a Prestige just go see about that for myself. I also ordered a double cut P-90 AD_2500 based on this experience which should tell you something. Anyway, as with everything else in life, YMMV. Good luck and God bless. :)

Properly intonated, well set up. In terms of finish, very nice except for a minor stain on the white binding of the neck, barely noticeable, and not much of a distraction. The Rosewood on the fretboard looks cheap, you can see bubbles along the grain. Don't know much about the quality of the mahogany body and maple neck, but it was a heavy guitar and felt good. I didn't care too much for the absolutely flat fingerboard. It would have been so much better with a slightly rounded fingerboard in my opinion. Maybe a bit more expensive to make. Would have gotten a great score but it came with a cracked neck. So I can only give it a 1.

This was absolutely horrendous!!! First off, no telephone number on the website to begin with so it was all done via email. I'm gonna include my email communications with Kurt below for you all to have an idea of how this company dealt with me. The guitar arrived on Saturday, March 26 and I eagerly took it out of the box in anticipation. Much to my disappointment, the neck was cracked! Oh well, I know Les Paul necks can have a tendency to crack right where the headboard meets the neck - and this was a perfectly oval crack suggesting to me that it was shoddy manufacturing that caused the headstock to come unglued from the neck rather than a UPS mishandling. I immediately sent an email (see my emails below) to Rondo on that same Saturday, and Kurt was prompt to respond. That was good, at least it started out okay. I followed his instructions and on the Next Business Day, Monday, I shipped the guitar back for a replacement along with a copy of the electronic form he asked me to fill out on the rondo website for a REPLACEMENT. NOTE: I specifically ordered a "REPLACE MY ITEM" on the form (I've included a copy of the form as it was sent to my email address from Rondo). I say this because the last response I got from Kurt was that I had ordered a REFUND! I did like the sound of the guitar and thought it would complement my collection. I thought maybe I'd gotten a lemon and the replacement would be fine. I really needed a Les Paul humbucker type sound (I have a Fender American Strat & a Tele). I've been playing guitar over 25 years and have played Les Pauls before. On Thursday, Mar 31, I shot Kurt an email with my UPS tracking number for the return asking if he could go ahead and ship the replacement since I'd like to get it as soon as possible. Once again Kurt replied promptly saying: "Shipping is closed the rest of the week for our inventory" and that he'd ship the exchange when they actually receive the return. Okay, I didn't mind too much. I waited and waited but got no reply from Rondo about a replacement being shipped or anything. So I shot another email on APRIL 7TH! to Kurt asking if they had shipped my replacement yet and to please provide me with a tracking number. To my disappointment I got a reply on Friday April 8th saying: "No it was refunded in full as per your instructions on the return form." Here's my return form: Note specifically where it says: "YOU WOULD LIKE RONDO MUSIC TO: REPLACE MY ITEM!":

I first got introduced to Rondo music from a friend who had nothing but high praise for this company. He'd purchased an SX Tele from them earlier. He'd also previously lived in NJ and visited Rondo. I did a lot of research, including user feedback here at harmony central and decided to try the Agile 2500. I'd decided that if it was pretty good, I'd also go for a Agile3000. I liked the fact that the users here had nothing but praise for the Customer Service! I'm very keen on that, in a previous job I supervised a customer service center for Peoplesoft! What a disppointment! I still give the Agile guitar a 3 because for the 1 day I had it, it did sound pretty nice. But I would not purchase from Rondo again. Any other distributors of Agile in the states?

My biggest disappointment with this guitar was the fact that the finish was much lighter than was shown in the picture on the Rondo web site. There were also some cosmetic flaws that were bad enough that i would not have bought this guitar , if i saw it at a store. It's no Gibby, but for $199, you really can't beat it.

2005 model in black w/gold hardware. Standard Les Paul features as described in the other reviews. I also bought the Stagg hardshell case with the guitar. Very nice case by the way. Well worth the price.

For straight ahead rock & roll. This guitar sounded richer smoother and creamier than the 4 Gibson Les Pauls I've owned. (2 standards & 2 studios). This guitar is supposed to have the cheaper ceramic pickups which are supposed to be hotter and brighter than the alnico equipped models. I didn't notice either characteristic. They just sounded absolutely perfect to me. I was totally stunned. With just a little manipulation of the volume and tone pots, I got every sound I ever wanted out of a Les Paul. I'm not changing anything on this guitar. To me this guitar is a HUGE 10!

Really good paint job with no flaws. The coating was not layered on so thick as to rob resonance from the guitar. Very well done. The binding had one really minor cosmetic flaw. And the nut was a cut a little bit sloppy, but I'm being really really picky here. The action was superb, with nice smooth frets. The only thing I did was raise the treble side of the bridge about 1/64", and thats only cause I thought the action was just a tad too low. However fret buzz was not an issue anywhere. Everything worked smoothly including the Grover tuners- nice touch.

No opinion as I haven't had the guitar long enough. It feels plenty solid. I think if you take good care of it you shouldn't have any problems. I would be real careful not to drop it though. It has a very fast thin neck with the tilt back headstock that adds sustain, but if the guitar lands on the back of the neck, I think it would be all over. Thank goodness the strap buttons are 1st class. So if you're a clutz, don't buy this guitar. If you take good care of your gear it'll take good care of you.

Been playing about 42 years and I'm VERY impressed with this guitar. I also have the 12 string model, that I obviously play clean. Bottom line is this- Neither one's for sale 'Nuf said.

Great Korean made guitar. Quality black paint job better than Epiphone Les Paul's, (I happen to like the black paint on this Agile better than a Gibson standard in black). Nice chrome parts and reliable GROVER tuners are a plus+. Rythym pickup sounds smooth and creamy and treble pickup works great for distortion with no feedback at high volumes like some Epiphones I have tried out. The strap buttons are oversized which is great for making sure that it will never fall when used with any strap. Overall very impressed with the attention to details on this guitar.

The body weighs so much and it pumps out some really beautiful tones even when not plugged in to an amp. Overall acoustics of this guitar are pristine. Sustain is awesome the more the volume is cranked. Both pickups provide great tones which are suited well to this type of guitar. I love that the sound is comparable to that off the more expensive Gibson Les Paul's. When used to record, I bet no one would know the difference between the two.

Binding on the body is not pure white, but is of a more vintage cream color. It is fit perfectly around the edges of the body and would seem to be done by experienced hands. The paint is very glossy and looks great under stage lights. The set up for the guitar I received was OK, some tweaking was done to get it up to my standards but it reached them and went beyond that point. This is a great guitar to customize if you don't already like the near perfectness of this guitar.

I've had for less than a month already but I know when a guitar is built like a tank. This guitar is one of them. It probably will never fall from a strap unless the strap itself breaks. If it fell, I know it would probably leave a big hole in the floor from the massive weight of it. I absolutely know this guitar would last.

2004 LP style, lefty, made in Korea, 22 fret, mahogany body with flamed maple top finished in trans. amber. Typical LP controls. 2 chrome covered ceramic humbuckers that ohm out at about 8.5k ohms (bridge) and 7.5k (neck). Maple neck with rosewood FB and Abalone inlays. Grover 18:1 tuners. 24 3/4" scale. Got a CNB case as a gift from a friend with the guitar. (Great case!)

I like classic rock and blues. I play thourhg a homebrewed Bogen PA amp. Look for the "Boggy Intimidator" reviews under the "Bogen" listing in the amps review section here. Didn't care for the stock pickups. I'm not a fan of ceramic pickups anyways. Already had a pair of Kent Armstrong HPAO-VI to go in it (reviewed those too). Guitar sounded fine with the stock pickups though. Not too shabby for ceramics. They are single conductor with a braided shield. All the wiring in the guitar is shielded. Guitar does the tyipcal LP tones very well. 3-way switch feels and works fine. Guitar has 500k Alpha pots which seem to work OK. I will change the tone pots out for reverse audio tapers at some point so they work properly, but that's just a lefty thing. Regular audio taper tone pots never work right when wired lefty. Every lefty guitar I've owned was like this. No biggie.

Had to intonate, to include flipping the saddle for the "D" string around, but no big deal. I adjusted the action down pretty low, and no buzzes. Guitar plays very well. Bookmatched flame is pretty good. I've seen better, but on much more expensive guitars. I am plased with the way this top looks, and can't believe the guitar was only $199.

Nice big strap buttons. It was hard to get my strap on them. I don't think there's a need for strap locks with these oversized buttons. This thing is built like a tank. Plastic nut, but well cut and not an issue. Nice finish that looks very durable. There is a slight flaw in the stain, I think, up on the body by the neck. It looks like a tiny bit of stain dripped on the top. It's hard to see and I'm not worried about it. Kurt would reasily exchange it, I'm sure, but I bought this thing to play, and it plays very well. I have no intention of sending it back. Completely happy. That was the ONLY flaw I could find on this guitar.

This is an easy ten. Is it a historic LP? No. It is a fantastic value though. Pickups are so subjective that many folks change them no matter what they buy. Even with the stock pickups, this guitar sounds pretty good. If this was lost, I'd get another.
