Not sure the year, made in Korea. Red top, SG style. 3 way selector, 2 tone, 2 volume, dual chrome covered hums, mahogany body, set maple neck, rosewood fretboard, jumbo frets.

Sound : 9
Running through a Boss TU-2 --> Korg A5 Multieffect --> Ibanez CF-7 --> V-series 3112 Class-A Tube 1x12" combo. Great Gibson sound. Hot pickups, good sustain. Sounds great with my distortion or clean, but as with any Gibson, you don't get the twang of the Strat. Hardware feels solid.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Traded for it used, and had to do some intonation and lower the action, but overall it feels well constructed and stays in tune. Surprisingly light-weight.

Reliability/Durability : 10
So far so good!

Great value for the price. I would definitely recommend the Agile guitars, which are basically the upper offerings from Rondo Music (www.rondomusic.com).

2003, made in Korea SG Supreme copy. Near-perfect Gibson copy, 3 way selector switch and 2 volume, 2 tone control setup. All mahogany (flame top might be maple, I'm not sure), 24 fret bound neck coupled with the smooth rosewood fretboard and well sanded frets makes for one of the the most fun to play guitars I've ever tried out. The blue flame top is gorgeous, and the midnight blue showcases the wood grain on the back and neck beautifully. The only thing I've touched on this guitar out of the box was the truss rod for some minor adjustments and I replaced the gold hardware (including the gold Grover tuners) with black hardware. The gold tune-o-matic bridge felt a little light, but in the time I used it until its black Custom Shop Parts arrived, it held up just fine.

Sound : 10
The pickups are PAF Zebras, and some of the hottest pickups I've used. The bridge has a great raw powerful sound, and the neck has a fat, mellow tone that works wonders for clean chords and ska. When the two pickups are mixed, they give off a rounder, bell-like tone. I originally planned to replace the pickups with Gibson 496's or 500R's, absolutely not necessary.

The action was set a little high at the factory for my tastes, but that was fixed with an allen key and a few little twists straight away. The pickups were perfect, and while the flame top grains from the two pieces dont match up perfectly, the flame top itself is almost as nice as the Gibson Supreme I tried out first. The binding is flawless, the only complaint I can think of about the craftsmanship was that some of the retaining screwholes for the tuning machines were not perfectly aligned. It doesnt effect the tuning machines performance at all (the Grovers are still rock solid), but if you're picky......my apologies.

I'm kicking myself for not buying two - I'm actually searching for a second backup. During practices and gigs, this guitar has taken the occasional smack, and the only evidence so far is a tiny tiny smudge on the headstock binding. My friend constantly asks to use it at practices, and after his stage antics I think I'm going to relegate this guitar to studio and recording work because I'm too paranoid to lose it. The hardware is excellent, the strap buttons were extremely solid (I replaced them with schaller straplocks), and its overall a very, very solid guitar.

The bottom line is I'd gig without a backup if I wasn't so paranoid about not being able to find another if I -did- manage to mess it up.

Rondo Music is one of my favorite music shops in the country, and Agile's a big reason why. While Agile doesn't directly have customer support, the guys at Rondo are awesome and I'm sure if I ever had a problem with this guitar (not bloody likely), they'd be a big help. However, I can't say I've had a complaint for them to deal with yet so I'll give them a 7.

I've been playing guitar for a year and a half (but it's all I ever do now - doh.) My setup is Marshall Shredmaster --> ADA Flanger --> Boss DS1 ---> EHX Small Clone ---> Peavey 80 watt Bandit. I play a lot of stuff, from jazz to ska to metal to punk to straight rock, and the SG is my favorite guitar to use across the board. (I also own an Ibanez GSA series, an American Telecaster, and a Strat knockoff). I played a lot of Gibson SGs (Standard, '62, Townshend, Iommi, Special, and the Supreme) and the playability of the Agile tops all of them. The flametop of the Gibson Supreme might be a bit nicer, for for $1600 less, this guitar blows my mind.

2003 SG Supreme copy with accurate Gibson body proportions. Dark blueburst flametop, gold hardware and humbuckers, grover tuners, 24 fret rosewood fretboard, medium frets, cream neck binding, thick semi-baseball bat neck, m.o.p. split diamond inlays, one piece mahogany back, flame maple top, maple neck, no pickguard.

Sound : 10
Nice long sustain. Pickups are very hot for stock, no need to replace, with well balanced highs and lows. Bridge pickup sound perfect for palm muted metal and hard rock distortion, thick tone with string clarity. Neck pickup is warm and mellow for that singing lead tone. This is a dressed up metal machine!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Very low action as delivered. Nice tight rosewood and fretwork. Well made with no flaws in finish, inlays, binding, or frets. Only complaint is that the flame maple top is weak and not matched well. The dark blueburst is a beautiful color but doesnt let much of the flame through which is probable just as well.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Everything is solid and well made. Durable finish, built to last. Good solid neck joint.

Shipped in 4 days from Ronco. I've heard good things about customer support.

I've been playing for about 12 years. I also own a; Carvin DC-127, Epiphone Les Paul Standard, Schecter S-1+, Raven DC LP copy, Dean EVO Phantom. I would buy again, great quality for price ratio. I wish it had an ebony fretboard like a Gibson. Compared to my other Korea made guitars it rates very high. It is the only one that doesnt need the pickups or tuners or both replaced. The Schecter S-1+ is close in quality but sells new for twice the price and I still had to replace the pickups. I wish could have picked out a better flametop but I forget about that once I am playing it because this ones a player. Overall a kick-ass copy of a $2000 guitar for $300.
