You know all the specs. I got the white one with the cream finish. Mahogany body, maple neck etc etc. Grover tuners too.

Sound : 8
The sound out of the box was pretty good. I really like the neck pickup for cleans and leads, but the bridge pickup is a little muddy for me. I like really tight and clear bridge pickups. I'm using a Marshall Artist 3203 with a Keeley modded MT-2 as a boost in front.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Factory setup was surprisingly good. There was only minimal fret buzz on the low E at the lower 5 frets. The pickups were adjusted well. There were some odd finish flaws on the heel of the neck, not anything too major, but of you really look hard, you can see it. Everything else seems to be very good, no loose or rattling parts, and everything, including fret markers, frets and hardware all seem to be set well.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar seems very sturdy. I don't beat on my guitars by any means, but it seems well built. I plan to put strap locks on this guitar, as all my guitars have them, so they don't matter much, but they seem good. I would definetly use this guitar for gigs, and for 200 bucks, I wouldn't be too scared to actually have a good time with it!

I've been playing for about 5 years. I have 2 jackson guitars, an ESP-LTD and now this Agile. I play through a Marshall Artist 3203 and a Peavey 412MS cab. I use a Keeley modded MT-2 as a boost, a morley bad horsie wah, and sometimes a Dano Octave, Ibanez DE-7 delay, and a Boss GE-7. If this was stolen, I'd definetly go out of my way to get one of these again. I think it's a very good guitar for the money. If it was a 1000$ gibson, some of the little finish flaws and such would definetly bother me, but for 200$, it's awesome.

Dont know when this was made but it was made in korea.
22 fret's look like med, mohog body, maple neck nice and fat, 2 hums, 2 vol 1 tone. tune-omatic bridge. The guitar is Gloss white finish with creme body binding.Grover tuners are a nice touch. Also nice big strap buttons.

Sound : 8
The band I play in is a heavy rock band. This works well with the stock pu's may later hod rod this thing up a little.I play it thru a Groove tubes solo 150 head and a mesa 412 road king cab.It is nice and quiet a little on the bright side but not a bad thing. The guitar will clean up quite well not as creamy as I wold like but for 199 not to bad. Like the way it sound's with dist. the 8 if for the stock pu's I have many guitars and only 1 or 2 have the stocks in them. Seymour duncan has something for everyone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The set up was not that great at the factory again 199 folks. I had to set the action, intonation and put on some new strings. Oh so much better now. The action is good as it gets. Paint looks good very well put together. 8 for the setup

Reliability/Durability : 10
It holding up well. I beat on them pretty good but take care of them.
Seem's like it should last awhile.Never go toa show without a backup be a pro if your poor borrow one. Take care of your gear and it will take care of you!

I have the first ghost that came out to replicate the Explorer. This Ghost is white with cream binding on the body as well as the neck. The Body is solid Mohogany, With a Maple neck and Rosewood fretboard with crown inlays. Nut is plactic. Two volume and one tone nobs which came in black. Has crome tune o matic bridge, pick-ups and crome tune pegs made by grover.

Sound : 9
Well i play metal and blues and this guitar sounds pretty good for stock pickups. But in the near future im thinkin of putting in some EMGs with an upgrade in the pots. I can tell by the mohogany body that this guitar has a good sustain. Not Judging on the pickups i have to say that this guitar it self is warm and full with good sustain with good musical properties.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Well as for the the factory setup this guitar will be takin in to a professional for a fret job and a bone nut and adjust the action and intonation. As for any flaws theres a little run in the paint near the head stock. As for that this guitar is made of high quility, The paint to the body and the binding is flawless. The neck has really nice action can we say fits like a glove.

Reliability/Durability : 10
All's i can say for this is that this is one solid guitar...Sweet!!!

Customer Support : 10
Asked a few questions before i ordered it got a quick responce.
Never really had to real with them on a negitive and dont really seeing any reason to also.

Overall Rating : 10
Well all i can say about this guitar for 2 hundred bucks sure is a great deal, You sure get alot of guitar for your money. The pickups and the bone nut and the fret job are some small things to get done but well worth it in the end. I love the look and style and over all feel of the guitar has a nice weight and vary tonefull. Vary happy with this purchase.

I'm not sure if mine is considered a Ghost, but it's an Agile Explorer with a sunburst finish. Humbuckers, rosewood fretboard, etc...made in Korea and absolutely gorgeous.
Perfect for what I want and need.

Sound : 10
The sound of this guitar is unbelievable. I am not kidding. I play through a Marshall JCM 800 using a Boss SD-1 and this thing sounds better than anything else I've tried before. Better than a Strat, better than a Gibson Les Paul, better than the $3000 guitar I don't want to name because I like the manufacturer too much. Quite simply, this guitar kicks ass. But keep in mind, it's all about what you're after, and I have found the promised land in a $199 guitar! I like my sound heavy and defined, more like a lion's roar than a buzzing bee. There is this warmth and sustain in my tone that wasn't there before. At first I thought I must be imagining things, but believe me, I can't wait to get to rehearsal to plug this baby in. I am totally serious about this.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
There is nothing wrong with this guitar. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. The only thing I did after I received it was put straplocks on, and that was it. The fretboard action was perfect, the neck was set exactly to my liking, the finish is way too nice for $199, this review must suck because I'm being way too mushy about all of it. Here's one thing that's weird: I've had the guitar for about ten days and broken my .30 gauge (D) string twice already. This is something that often occurs to me anyway, but I don't think I've ever done it twice this quickly. But then again, I love to play this guitar so maybe I'm just playing it harder and more than I realize.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've played one gig with it and it was excellent. I do my share of jumping around and this guitar is going nowhere. It's well balanced and I play it low. It feels right.

Customer Support : 10
You've all heard about how great Kurt is. He almost seems legendary according to all the Rondo reviews I read. Maybe he's actually some kind of demi-god that conjures magic guitars and sells them cheap. I don't know. All I know was that this guitar wasn't listed on his site and I emailed him about it and he said he had one in the back he'd sell to me. $199 later I had my guitar. Oh yeah, buy the case too. The CNB case is almost as nice as the guitar. I swear to you, this purchase should've cost two grand rather than less than two hundred.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing twenty friggin' years. I started out playing punk and had my first guitar, an explorer shaped Aria Pro II ZZ Custom, stolen by an idiot punk band called D.I. Those suckers were seen playing my guitar a month after they stole it from me in San Luis Obispo. Anyway, since then I've always wanted to re-explore the Explorer shape (haha), and I took a chance with the Agile. I am about as happy as I can be about this purchase. I plan on buying one of their LP's later this week. Although I started out playing hardcore, I love and play all types of music now and know a good instrument when I play one. This guitar is a great instrument. And best of all, the value makes it that much better. If you are considering purchasing a guitar and want the best bang for your buck, this is it: an Agile guitar.

Made in Korea. 22 Frets. Solid mahogany body, set neck, Explorer type, white (with binding!!), inlays on the neck like a Hamer Standard, Grover tuners with a Tune-O-Matic styled bridge, two Alnico humbuckers.

Sound : 10
Sounds fantastic, a real rockin' machine! I get a great distortion sound through my Marshall, easy to get harmonics out of it. I was really surprised. Rocks right up there with my Gibson SG Standard, somewhat brighter sound, however. I like to play Metallica, Sabbath, Toadies, Superjoint, Static-X hell, anything. As far as variety is concerned, I don't give a rat's a$$ about variety, I want METAL baby!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
When I opened the box, the action was right-on. It was almost in tune, even. Intonation on the neck was 100%, no dead spots. SWEET. I raised the back pickup a little bit, that was it. The finish is awesome. I didn't know the guitar would have a binding (creme colored) around the white body. It is way nicer than a Gibson Explorer any day. The inlays in the neck were done nicely...something the Gibson Explorer lacks altogether (the Hamer Standard has them, but the Hamer has a neck like a baseball bat)- this guitar was delivered to me, and all I can say is when I opened the box, I was surprised that this thing is so nice.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The finish is bullet proof. Better than on my Gibson SG Standard (the paint on my SG is sort of "soft", which has always bothered me)Everything on this guitar seems solid as a rock. The tuners are grovers, and the pickups are Alnicos...I'm surprised by the quality of this thing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them, have not needed to.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 15 years. This is the best value I've ever run across. I have two AX2 Ghosts in my collection now, one white, one black (the black has no binding on the body). It would seem that whoever is making these Agile guitars is doing something right. Great guitar, at a great price. I would say this guitar is worth a good $600, hell, Gibson sells theirs for a grand! I'm not sure what else to say, but if you can get your hands on one of these, do so!

Korean made 2003 Agile Explorer
22 Frets
2 Humbucking pickups
2 volume 1 tone, 3-way selector
Set neck, grover tuners, mahogony body and a maple neck

Sound : 9
I play this beast straight through a 100 watt Peavey Transtube II amp. I must say it rocks. I play a lot of rythem, I'm the type that enjoys doing James Hetfield impersonations so this guitar suits me nicely. I currently have 12 guage strings on so I can tune nice and low. I play a lot of St. Anger tunes and the ghost works nicely with that raw style of music. My bridge pickup isn't as hot as my ibanez rg320qs. The neck pickup is great for a nice warm clean tone. An awsome example, the clean chugging riff of Frantic.

I did notice that standing close to the amp while at high volumes i get a good amount of loud, noisy shrieking feedback, but I beleive most guitars are guilty of this.

Before I put the 12's on I played Metallics standard tuned songs like sandman, seek and destroy, puppets, all those good tunes and this guitar delivered.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The setup was great straight out of the box.
Downright beautiful guitar. Its tough too, its smacked a few things over time as most winged guitars do and there are next to no imperfections.
Frets were fine, all the electronics were fine. Very nicely put together guitar. Pleased to the fullest when it comes to the setup.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It will definitly withstand live playing.
Its extremely durable, as I said before its hit a few things and there are no noticeable dents or paint chips.
Very dependable.
No I wouldn't bring a back up, maybe one in a different color or in a different tuning.

Customer Support : 10
Kurt from was RondoMusic was extremely friendly and answered all my questions!

Overall Rating : 9
For what you pay this is an awsome guitar. I once owned a epiphone explorer and it sucked IMO. This is much better and its half the price.

I own am Ibanez RG320QS , I use it for standard tuned songs and solo type stuff.
Since it's not being sold anymore, I'd kill the bastard who stole it, and then get it back !! :-D

2003 Korean Explorer copy
22 frets,ceramic HB pups,maple neck,mahogany body w/flame maple top

2 volume 1 tone,Tune o matic bridge...right out of the box.

Sound : 9
My only beef is the sound seems to die out/fade a bit quicker than a Gibson, and not due to lack of sustain on the strings or the guitar itself,I'm guessing weak pick ups.I thought about changing the pups but in the time I've had it I'm really starting to like that it does this.I've got a Gibson LP and an Agile LP copy so If I need to hear ton's of sustain I could alway pick up one of those.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Set up was perfectright out of the box after replacing the factory 10's with some 9's...

Finish is beautiful and flawless

If I were a professional I'd trust my career on this guitar

Customer Support : 10
the only contact with dealer (Rondo) was with a billing problem I've had before using a debit card....so it wasn't their fault. But all emails were responded to quickly and the problem solved fast.

I've been playing over 20 years,own a '93 Gibson LP Studio,Martin DX-1
acoustic,Ovation 12 string and have a used Agile LP copy (the ones that looks almost exactly like a Gibson)on the way because the Ghost (Explorer) was such a great buy and guitar and I would recommend that anyone wanting the best deal in music other than the factory giving you one is Agile guitars

This is a follow-up to my earlier review. I noticed something odd prior to installing my new pickups. The stock neck pickup was a little louder than the stock bridge pickup. When I pulled them I found that the neck pickup measured 10k ohms and the bridge pickup measured 8k ohms. I'm guessing that they were installed backwards at the factory since the higher impedance pickup is usually at the bridge. I now have a Duncan '59 at the neck and a Duncan Custom at the bridge. Both are connnected using P/P pots for switching between series & parallel wiring of the pickup's coils. This setup works WAY better than splitting the coils for single coil use. All I can say now is.... WOW!!! Does this guitar ever kick ass now. My Les Paul Custom now has some serious competition for being my #1 axe.

this brand new Agile Ghose Explorer copy was made in Korea and features, like the others described on this page, 22 frets, two humbucking pickups, a three-way toggle switch, two volumes and two tones. the body is mahogony and the neck is rosewood (i believe). grover tuners.

Sound : 7
my only complaint about this incredibly well-made guitar is its stock pickups, which i found to be muddy and lacking in definition. interestingly, these pickups sounded best on clean settings; with distortion, the sound was tubby and inarticulate (particularly in the low end). i, like the other gentleman who posted on this page, replaced these with Seymour Duncans and now the guitar is really sounding liek a vintage Explorer. also had the volume pots replaced so the pickups would sound better at low volumes and open up more smoothly.

i've been a Strat guy forever so i bought this guitar seeking that chunky humbucker sound for hard rock. i think it delivers in this department, even with the stock pickups. not a heck of alot of variety, but that's what a Strat is for. the best sounds on this guitar are, for me, the bridge position for distortion and the middle setting for clean. the neck pickup sounds a bit too tubby for my tastes when it's used with distortion. you're probably better off using an amp with a tighter, solid-state-type distortion than the real fat, warmed-up tube distortion sound, which, for me, is a bit too much coupled with these stock pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
this guitar was flawless coming through the door. not only does it look immaculate, it plays like a dream. this was the most surprising part -- i've been playing guitar for 20 years and this guitar is the smoothest ride i've had yet. no adjustments of any kind needed to be made; the intonation is fine, the action is perfect, the pickup positions were fine. really spectacular.

Reliability/Durability : 10
i've beel playing this guitar for only a month now but it has all the earmarks of a sturdy and reliable instrument. the parts and construction are of high quality. have already used it live and it was great. now that i've replaced the pickups, there is nothing about this guitar that warrants "backup" status. it is good as anything i've owned.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
i've been playing 20 years, as i said earlier. i am a professional musician and beyond that, i still love to play. this guitar has inspired me to practice for hours a day like in my early years. if this guitar were stolen or lost i would certainly buy another. i love the way it plays and looks and (now that i've replaced the electronics) how it sounds. the stock pickups weren't necessarily bad, just not what i was looking for. one more important thing -- i'm a lefty. Agile was the only company i found who made lefty Explorer-type guitars. that i paid under $300 for this instrument blows me away. really tremendous value. highly recommended.

This is a Korean made 2004 Agile AX-2 Ghost Explorer. It has 22 jumbo frets in what appears to be a Rosewood fingerboard. The body and set neck are solid Mahogany with creme colored binding around both the body & neck. There are 2 humbuckers with a 3-way selector switch. It has a TOM bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners.

Sound : 8
At first I didn't care for the tone of the guitar. A look inside the control cavity revealed that there was a .047uf tone cap installed. I replaced it with a .022uf cap and dramatically improved the guitar's tone. Not bad for the stock humbuckers but I'll be replacing them soon with a Duncan '59 at the neck and a Duncan SH-5 Custom at the bridge. I'll also add some push/pull pots for series/parallel wiring of the pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar has no business being this nice for only $200. The set neck, Grover Rotomatics, bound body & neck & crown neck inlays make this guitar an unbelievable bargain. I didn't even have to take it in for a professional setup.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar appears to be very well made. The fit and finish are both excellent as far as I can tell. The frets are well dressed, the binding & finish are fabulous. Just a drop dead gorgeous guitar IMO.

My main guitar is a Les Paul Custom. My rig consists of a DigiTech GSP-2101 pre-amp/processor, Mesa 20/20 stereo power amp & a 4x12 slant cab that I built myself with Celestion 70/80 speakers. I also have a Behringer GM110 practice amp that I use. I just CANNOT get over what a GREAT guitar this is for the money. I've seen Epiphone Explorers that didn't come anywhere close to the quality of this guitar. If you're looking to buy an Explorer style guitar you owe it to yourself to check out the Agile. I swear you won't be sorry.
