Agile AX-2 Ghost Explorer copy. Made in Korea. 22 Frets on a rosewood board with crown MOP inlays. Mahogany body and set neck with flame maple top. Cherry sunburst with cream binding. Two humbucker pickups. Faithful reproduction oF a Gibson Explorer. Absolutely flawless finish. I saw this baby on sale on Rondomusic's website and woke up early the next morning for the log drive there to pick one up. I meticulously examined this guitar from top to bottom and could not find one flaw in the workmanship. The sunburst flame, the binding, etc., was all perfect. I have to tip my hat to Rondo Music. This is the third guitar I purchased from them and everyone has been an absolutely thrill to look at and play. I also own a Fender Strat and an Epiphone Popa Chubby V and both of those have cosmetic flaws here and there. The Agile has none. It's not that heavy either which was surprising. It just feels and looks so solid and is such a high quality instrument that it really feels like it belongs in at least a $500 price range. Agile is really getting a lot of respect and popularity from musicians. I just hope the quality stays the same once they get bigger and in higher demand.

The humbuckers are wax dipped, ceramic type. I'm not much of an audiophile but these pups are definitely powerful. I haven't really cranked my amp yet with this guitar, but at low levels this guitar sounds great through my Behringer Vintager amp. The bridge pickup is a bit muddy, but so is my Dimarzio Super Distortion on my strat. The neck pickup is really sweet. The combination of the pickup, set neck, mahogany wood, all add to what seems like endless sustain. I haven't really played this yet on a clean channel, but then again, it's an Explorer...it's made for distortion!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Not surprisingly with these guitars, the action was set up rather nicely at the factory. The neck was already straight enough that the truss rod didn't need adjusting. I simply lowered the action to my liking using the tune-o-matic bridge, and I was ready to go. The frets are finished perfectly and I don't get any buzz, and my action is set pretty low (about 4/64th at the 1st and 6th strings on the 12th fret).

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can't say enough about the look and feel of this guitar. It is absolutely perfect. It looks looks like it will last for many years. Again, it's a high quality instrument throughout so I don't ever see any problems arising. For those that insist on using Agile guitars simply as backupS, that's bullshit. This guitar would suit seasoned players just fine. If you're concerned about the logo on your headstock, then I guess that's different. I've compared these guitars to higher priced big name brands, and these are not as good, they're for the most part...BETTER.

Never had the need for support, but the people at Rondo are very polite. They don't hound you once you walk in the door like in other places, but then again they don't have to: their products sell themselves.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 9 years. I own a Fender Mexican strat that I cutomized to look and sound like Dave Murray's famous '57 black strat. I also own an Epiphone Popa Chubby V, an Agile LP2500, and an SX strat. If it were stolen or lost I'd get another. I love this guitar. I still can't get over the fact that I only paid $200 for it. If you're reading these reviews, contemplating whether you should get on of these like I did for a couple of days...STOP and just buy one, you will definitely be glad you did.

Made in 2003. 22 frets, set neck, two humbuckers, 3 control knobs 2 volume and 1 tone. Pretty close to an actual Explorer shape but not as picked on the edges. Jumbo frets. Grover tuners. Plus more.

Sound : 10
It sounds awesome. I play mostly heavy and aggressive music. From Metallica to Agnostic Front. Great sound for Guns n' Roses also.
My rig is a Marshall MG100HDFX 100 watt halfstack(also kicks ass) and my white Ghost.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The Guitar was in mint condition when I got it. Action was great right out of the box. Put together properly

Reliability/Durability : 10
It will survive live play. It is my main axe when I play with our band. My other is an Eniphone E-Series Beast X (tuned CGCFAD). Very Dependable.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Havent used them

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for about 2 years. Its the best guitar I own. I have and epiphone beast x, and two squire strats. If it were stolen i would weep like a bitch. I love it to death. I compared it to epiphones and it plays better to me. Definately a great Guitar and it's just as good as an epiphone.

Bought it for Christmas, it's a 2003 model. Two volumes, one tone, three way toggle switch, and two humbuckers. Pretty faithful copy of the Explorer. And that is exactly what I was looking for. Mine came with a very nice custom shaped tweed case.

Sound : 10
I play alternative rock and this guitar fits perfectly. The humbuckers are just aggressive enough without overdoing the distortion. I play it through a few effects into a Peavey XXX, and the sound is awesome.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I bought the white model as well, and the finish and setup were nearly perfect. All I had to do was raise the lower side of the bridge slightly and tune up, and it was ready to go. Neck is smooth and very comfortable.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Heavy and solid, made of all mahogany with a bound top and fretboard. Really solid design that I don't see breaking down under any normal circumstances.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them, but Rondomusic got it shipped here on Christmas eve and they were very good about the order itself. ... Plus they sent me a free hat.

Overall Rating : 10
Like the other reviewer said, you're getting a very high quality Gibsom copy for a lot less than most poorly made Epiphones. The hardware and construction are really top notch, especially considering the price.

this guitar was made in april of 2003. i bought this in september from rondo music online outlet. this axe has a maple set neck, mahogany body, rosewood fretboard, trapizoid inlays (real pearl according to them)this is equipped with a pair of ceramic bar chrome covered humbuckers, 2 vol 1 tone control. chrome tune o matic bridge, chrome grover tuners. i bought a white one, the finish is decent. the peghead finish had a couple blemishes. not that noticeable. fortuneatly, thats the greatest problem this axe has

Sound : 10

the pickups sound pretty good. it remindes me of a duncan distortion with less highs..this axe does look like something metallica would use. i suppose it will suit any music style your heart desires.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10

the guitar was setup with 10's it looked like. the setup was very nice. just the right action. the feel of the neck is good it is easy on the hands.

Reliability/Durability : 10

the folks at rondo are good people, the first guitar they sent to me got damanged halfway through transit, ups suprisingly noticed it and sent it back to them. they replaced it in short order. so, mebbe it was ups who were the hero's for not just delivering the damaged goods the rest of the way (i think they're getting smart!)

Overall Rating : 10

this is indeed one of the coolest guits i own. and i payed hella lot less than a new epi. and is a higher par of quality!. everybody who looked at thought that i payed at least $750. for it. if you want the most classy instrument for the buck, you should look into these guitars.
