Alba Stratocaster copy

A simple satin finished stratocaster copy with body made out of Alder and a medium neck made out of maple that features 22 thin frets. Otherwise a standard cheap Strat fare with S/S/S pickup configuration with a 5 way selector switch, a tremolo, volume and 2 tone knobs. All the hardware and pickups are no name Chinese manufactured stuff and the bridge is "classic" Fender style.

Made in China in 2007, and came with a gigbag, a strap and a hex nut tool.

Just what you would expect from a Strat really, compressed sound with reasonable amounts of sustain. Sounds better than the average cheap clone but does need a bit of set-up from new. I am perhaps not the best judge of this since I mainly play in Industrial bands and the guitar is so heavily processed that the basic tone of the instument is not a huge issue for me personally. However, unplugged this guitar sounds noticeably better than the other cheap strat clones that I have used through the years and that is usually a good indicator. Slightly noisy signal but that is to be expected from an S/S/S pickup configuration and of no issue for me.

The set-up was reasonable but did need some work to get it perfect, pickups were fine.

Cosmetically it is incredible considering the price, a couple of plastic shavings sticking out of the pickguard are my main complaint and the hardware, knobs and switches are look cheap but work fine, really the only other criticism is that the the neck and head look extremely cheap for some reason but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the neck/head assembly whatsoever and the fretting and nut are 100% OK and inserted correctly even though they are not going to win any beauty contests.

The body finish however is perfect and in fact I have never seen a cheap guitar with this quality of a body finish, looking at the publicity material for the guitar I can actually see that the finish on the one I received is actually better than on the one that the company used for their PR, so perhaps I just got lucky. The Tremolo action is firm and as with the the finish, better than expected.

The guitar is also a bit lighter than I am used to but I am not sure if that is a plus or a minus, balance seems OK.

Everything appears reasonably sturdy with the possible exception of the string trees, but since I have not gigged with it I cannot really attest to its roadworthiness.

Superb in every way I originally ordered one for a friend and he found some fault with his and it was replaced with no question asked, this is noteworthy since this is such a cheap item and because I am in the UK/GB and the seller/manufacturer is in Germany.

I have been playing guitars on and off for 30 years and am an occasional user rather than a connoisseur and am thus looking more for a usable everyday guitar rather than an exotic, and to tell the truth I am as happy as a pregnant pig to have found a reasonably good electric guitar for price a Ukulele.

As for buying it again if it where stolen? Without a pause.

Zwei baugleiche ALBA-Strat-clones, f??r je schlappe 39.50 EURO, wie unten beschrieben: Erlenkorpus, 2.85kg, Ahorhals, Palisandergriffbrett 22 B??nde, 3 Keramik-Singlecoils mit A: 5.8- 5.5- 5.5, und B: 6.1- 6.4- 6.4KOhm, Standard-5-Weg-Schaltung, 3lagiges 11-Loch-Pickguard, gekapselte Mechaniken, "Olimpic"(?) white, standard-Vintage-Tremolo, 2.85kg :-))

Ordentlich eingestellt, sind die Kopien mit einer Pacifica und Mex-Strat, spieltechnisch und klanglich vergleichbar. Sie klingen, wie S-S-S-Strats klingen sollten.

Das Griffbrett dankt Pflege und ??l. Die Gitarre ist ordentlich verarbeitet, alle Teile sind von gut durchschnittlicher Qualit??t.

Bei einem Exemplar hatte sich ein Gurtpin gel??st. Lie?? sich problemlos mit Sekundenkleber beheben. Insg. korrekt durchschnittliche Verarbeitung, durchaus b??hnentauglich.

30 Tage R??ckgaberecht mit 40-EUR-Begrenzung ...

Wer sich keinerlei handwerkliche Fertigkeiten zutraut, sollte f??r den Kaufpreis, ca. 40 EUR, vom lokalen Gitarrenbauer ein ordentliches Setup machen lassen, und hat dann ein Instrument, da?? f??r alle ??blichen Jazzrockbluesfunk ... Jobs tauglich ist.

Alba Strat, vintage white, Made In China, alle ??blichen Strat Features, S-S-S, 5-way switch, 4-Loch Neckplate usw. Medium flacher Hals, ??hnlich 70er Strat. Hals sch??n gemasertes Ahorn, Palisandergriffbrett, Korpus Erle massiv, Leichtgewicht ca. 3,4 kg. Kopfplatte ??hnlich wie grosser 70er Headstock, aber nicht ganz identisch.

Nach den unten beschriebenen Einstellarbeiten: ??berraschend fetter authentischer Strat-Sound. Habe in den letzten Jahren hunderte von Kopien in diversen Preislagen getestet, und diese Billiggitarre geh??rt zu den besten. Die PU's haben einen h??heren Output als Fender USA PU's, in etwa vergleichbar mit den Cheri/Chevy PU's. In allen Stellungen ein wirklich brauchbarer Stratsound, clean wie verzerrt sehr gut. Durchschnittliche Nebenger??usche, wie sie bei Single Coils normal sind.

Dies ist eine EUR 39,50 Gitarre, selbst bei Gibson und Fender sind oft Einstellarbeiten n??tig. Neu ausgepackt habe ich erstmal die Saiten entfernt, die Halstasche von Holzr??ckst??nden befreit, die B??nde poliert, das Griffbrett einge??lt, Saitenlage und PU H??he eingestellt. Halsneigung, Bund-und Oktavreinheit waren ok. Diese Arbeiten kann jeder selbst machen und sind in meinem Ebay-Ratgeber "Pimp My Guitar" ausf??hrlich beschrieben. Die Gitarre ist ansonsten sehr sauber verarbeitet, der Hals ist passgenauer als bei manchen Fender, das Finish ist einwandfrei, die Tuner sind stimmstabil, alles so wie es sein soll. Nach den Einstellarbeiten hervorragende Bespielbarkeit und ein echtes Vintage Feeling wie ich es auf einer Squier noch nie hatte.

Definitiv trotz des niedrigen Preises eine einwandfreie Gitarre, mit der ich mich jederzeit auf die B??hne stellen w??rde. Von der Verarbeitungsqualit??t ist die Gitarre auch mit EUR 250,- Instrumenten vergleichbar.

Hatte keinen Kontakt, deshalb hier kein Rating.

Ich spiele seit 35 Jahren semi-professionell. Habe immer um die 20 Gitarren, es wechselt ??fter, spiele ausschliesslich Vintage Tube Amps. Habe diese Gitarre aus Spass gekauft, es ist zurzeit die billigste Strat Kopie bei Ebay und war nach den ausgef??hrten Arbeiten total ??berrascht. F??r den Preis ist die Gitarre der absolute Hammer, nicht nur f??r Anf??nger, auch f??r Player, die zwischendurch mal einen Stratsound brauchen. Authentischer Sound und Feeling, sehr gute Verarbeitung und Bespielbarkeit, was will man mehr. Definitiv f??r mich zurzeit Best Buy im Billigsegment. Kaufe ich jederzeit wieder, als n??chstes teste ich die Tele.
