Heres what Alden have to say
Alden guitars are the result of a collaboration between UK guitar guru Alan Entwhistle and one of Korea???s leading guitar companies. Alan has been involved in guitar design since the early 60???s and his wealth of experience is showcased perfectly in the Alden range. Alden guitars are inspired by classic instruments of the last 5 decades though thanks to Alan???s creative design input none could be even remotely described as ???copies??? All feature top quality hardware, Entwhistle designed pickups, premium materials, and superb construction supervised by the man himself!
22 Frets, one volume, one tone control, 4 pickups which can all be turned on or off with 4 swithes (above each one) for various combinations, plus a 5 setting selector for more variations. Bigsby style tremelo. Thin neck.

I read a review somewhere that said: `this guitar had so many swithes but only one sound`...... well i don`t know what gear they were using but i`ve found the sounds are endless and variable. From tinny or bright Telecaster right through to rich bluesey grab you by the throat and pine you to the floor! I think it is really versatile.
I play alot of jangly indie stuff (Smiths, Kooks, Lloyd Cole lalalala) but also like to use alot of effects with my own tunes and the Quadrastar handles all of it valiantly, plus a big bonus it does`nt go out of tune every five minutes.

Bought the guitar locally secondhand after seeing them avertised but did`nt want to spend alot in case it was a pile of rubbish but i would have bought a new one knowing what i know now. Not sure how the guitar was factory set-up as this one was professionally done when i bought it.
Finish is great for the money, scratchplate fits nice and hugs the body, knobs and switches feel quality and solid, especially the volume and tone, tremelo is solid.
Very quiet guitar to, no hum or buzz.
Only thing i`m not keen on is the 5 setting selector switch knob which is a little large and can easily be hit by mistake when playing. I think i will be changing that.

I think it`s an excellent choice for gigging, really solid.

To me owning a Quadrastar is like owning one of those more unusual dog breeds that everyone who loves dogs wants to stop and ask you about (and stroke!).
Have been playing for many moons and owned lots of guitars and yes i admit it`s not the best finish or the best sound for everyone, but neither were the guitars it`s trying to emulate.
If it were lost or stolen i would buy anther (if you can find one), i love it!

I got this of ebay,??150 and its one of the best buys iv got.Being a lefty its almost as rare as chickens teeth to not only find something thats anywhere near deacent, but iv never seen a guitar like this left or right handed.Four humbucker pickups - all individually switchable.
QTX tone system giving you everything from clean to heavy in 5 steps built in to the guitar.Maple neck, 25 1/2inch scale. Basswood body.
Vintage Jag-style trem with trem arm.
Quality roller-style bridge for perfect trem sounds. It has been professionally set-up with all pickup and switch cavities fully copper insulated and all pick-ups remounted to be parallel with the strings (originally they were set up parallel to the body which is not the best playing or best looking set up). Recent new strings.

Yep,its a 10..Just to give you an idea about where im at.My main girls are a 68 lefty mustang-84 lefty jag-and a 75 lefty gibson junior.I treat them real ruff and throw them around a lot on tours so for me tuning and strength are a must.Amp wise its a split jcm800 combo and a bedrock 651 50watt combo.I love that sort of clean nirvana-q.o.t.s.a thing with killer crunch.I got the alden simply because when i saw the add i fell in love with it,and again, for a lefty thats rare. The alden is pretty well built in my eyes. The build is like a mexican fender so i wont chuck it about like my others.Tunings great, seems to have factory tuners which is fine.S0 it has 4 really powerful humbuckers as described above and an amazing neve style knob which seems to be 5way for tones that range from a cool dull tone to a bright big star kind of jangle. Its a really loud guitar and when i pump it through my amps it screams.SUPERB.I'll prob use this a lot in the studio because it really has such a range of tones you got it all coverd. But also, for me,the one big fat, dark deep racket it makes will get the most use.
