I play a large variety of music and can duplicate nearly any sound with this guitar from near acoustic/electric to Strat, Les Paul and Tele sounds, plus Garcia like sounds with no effects at all. The flexibility of tone is unparalleled with any guitar I've ever played.
I use a variety of amps, but usually just play at some through Mackie FR-M800 PA, Mackie 1202 mixing board, Fender Pre-amp, Various pedal effects.
The guitar is supremely quiet with very little hum no matter which pickups I have on.
The sound is the best full range frequency response I have ever heard from a guitar...from growling open E bass to 24th fret density and depth of tone.
Likes: more than I imagined possible...
Dislikes: Not enough time to play...might have to quit my job

Finish and set up are flawless, obiously Alembic puts a huge amount of attention into ensuring customer satisfaction with their products.
I carefully modified pickup position, only to return them to their original locations.
The book match and bridge routing is superb.
I can not find a single flaw on this guitar

This is a new to me guitar. It had one owner before me and I can not tell that it was ever used even though the previous owner gigged with it. I always have multiple guitars with me, but I feel confident that this guitar is solid and reliable

I have dealt with the company, and even though I bought this guitar used they have been extremely helpful. They directed me to specifications, offered a free check-up, offered a factory tour, allowed onlne registration of used guitar ownership, have a discussion group on their web site for Alembic owners/players. This is a family run business with things that are always obvious: Pride, Quality, customer satisfaction, reliability, best tone possbile, artistic and scientific excellence and happiness.

I have been playing for 20 years
Other guitars owned:
Taylor 314ce
Schecter 006 Elite
Danelectro DC-3
Gibson Les Paul Standard
Fender Stratocaster - 68
Taylor Baby
If my guitar was lost of stolen, I would quickly get another. I might take the time to have the factory do some custom inlay for me.
What I love: tone, appearance, feel, playability, that it's mine
What I hate: Being away from it
I compared this with what I own and various other custom luthiers whom I won't mention...buying a guitar is subjective and although i have what is best for me, there may be other brands better for other artists.
