If you're looking at buying this axe you already know what it has. The "extras" on mine are continuous wood backplates and LED's on the neck- both of which i highly recommend.

Here's where I want to comment and this is what I love about this guitar: if you buy a tele, strat, or Les Paul you know the sounds they make. No more, no less. They all make good sounds and that's it. This guitar is different. It makes nearly all the sounds the others make (as well as they do too!) plus many other great tones beyond what I expected. The price for this is that there's some wacky sounds in there too that need to be avoided but this is such a small price to pay for what i consider the most versatile and awesome sounding guitar I've ever played (and I've played '50's-'60's fenders & gibsons, Monteleones, and D'Angelicos). I've never used the word awesome in any review I've written before- understand it's not only applicable, it's an understatement.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
No Opinion
If Alembic could have read my mind on what I wanted...just kidding. I re-set the action after i bought it but doesn't everybody? Same with the pickups. No flaws to speak of, just not how i set things up. No big deal. Everything is super easy to adjust.

If Alembic fell down anywhere it was here. The original wiring harness had issues resulting in problems that were tricky to trouble shoot. On the other hand, one call later I had a new harness in my hands.

If the guitar plays and sounds somewhere beyond awesome, that pales in comparison to the level of customer service Susan and Ron provide. I've had to avail myself of this and they simply ask what's wrong and send me the requisite parts to fix the issue. No questions, no charges. Simply perfect, flawless customer service. Really friendly nice people too.

I've been playing almost 30 years now. I own or have owned vintage strats, a D'Angelico, teles, Les Pauls, 335's, 125's, 225's, etc. This axe is my personal favorite hands down. The only bad thing I can find to say about it is that it makes Les Pauls feel feather light. It's so flexible tonally I haven't found all the sounds in it yet and I've owned it over two years now. It's the nicest guitar I've ever played.
