Features : 8
Beautiful workmanship and great quality woods. A slight ridge along side of neck where fingerboard meets the neck is the only small imperfection that I notice. Tuners are ok - I will be replacing with Sloans.

Sound : 9
Pure flamenco sound - clear basses and singing trebles. I am very impressed by the sound of this guitar for the money I paid.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Nice low action with hardly any buzzing at all - just the tiny amount desired for flamenco when played aggressively.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Guitar seems very durable - perhaps a little heavier than some but looks like it will stand the test of time.

Customer Support : 10
I asked just one question about this guitar before buying the Alhambra were very helpfull and quick to respond.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this guitar and I got a nice deal on it. I will not be parting with it - perhaps ever. I got it for $750.00 - it was un-used older stock - what a deal!

I own a 10 F negra for 5 years. Very good flamenco sound. Beautifull Brazilian Rosewood. Fine grained spruce top. The 10 f wins every competition in the same price.

Sound : 8
Really flamenco sound. On all the strings. It gives me many happy hours of playing this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
They set it up with very low action, which I never changed.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Because of the high craftsmanship, this guitar will have a long live.
They did everything that is recommendid to build a good guitar!

The woods used on this guitar are top notch. Very silky European spruce top. Book-matched Spanish cypress. Tuners were OK, so I upgraded to a set of Sloanes with ebony buttons. Guitar is complete now.

Sound : 8
Sounds great. I've never found a better sounding flamenco for the price I paid. It does have a nice growl, but I would say its a bit more mellow than a concert flamenco. Volume is very good, and it has an overall bright sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I had a professional luthier set up the guitar for flamenco (3mm @12th) so its wonderful now. When I first got the guitar, the action was too low, so it buzzed like crazy. Since I bought it used, that was probably due to the origional owner. The only gripe I have with the guitar is the liberal amount of laquer that was used to finish it. It looks sloppy in some areas and is so thick its cracked in a couple of places. I would probably recomend the one with the shellac finish.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Very solid. Its actually a bit on the heavy side.

I've been playing flamenco for 2 yrs. I think this is a great guitar, and if you can get it for the price I paid, I would definitely recommend it. I was going to buy a Cordoba 75f origionally, and I very happy that I found the Alhambra, because the Cordoba is nowhere near the quality of the Alhambra. I know its apples and oranges, because the comprable Cordoba is the 100f, but thats another issue. I'm always walking into guitar shops, and trying new guitars, and I've never found a better sounding flamenco for less than $3000.

This is the top of line flamenco blanca acoustic model from the artisan factory in Spain (lower price models are 3F and 7F). Solid spruce top and solid Spanish cypress back and sides....all bookmatched high grade materials. Mahogany neck and headstock. Ebony fretboard. Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay and bindings. Indian rosewood bridge. Deluxe machine tuners with pearloid knobs. Clear pickguard. Clear lacquer finish. Beautiful rosette pattern. Built in 2000-2001. Very high quality construction is evident. Alhambra claims that construction of the higher priced models are supervised by a master luthier.

Sound : 8
Bright metallic sound with raspy basses. Clear trebles. You definitely know it's a flamenco. Rich tone for a guitar in this price range and certainly loud enough to fill the room. Good guitar for a classical player (like me) who wants to move into flamenco music, but doesn't want to invest thousands of dollars just yet. Doesn't "growl" like some of the expensive instruments from Madrid though. [My personal favorite sound is that which Juan Martin achieves with his 1972 Conde Hermanos blanca (with pegs).]

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action is just right from the factory. No flaws found. The deluxe tuners from Spain are OK but a nice upgrade would be to replace them with Schallers or Sloanes. Better overall workmanship than some of the hand-built luthier guitars I've seen selling for a lot more money.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Very durable lacquer finish. Solid well-built instrument. Clear pickguards protect the top well. Came with an excellent hard shell case.

Customer Support : 9
I've emailed the factory in Spain several times and they were always very helpful/informative. Same for the main US rep, which is GSI in Santa Monica,CA. Guitar is under warranty but I don't recall for how long.

I've been playing classical for a couple of years and love the music from Spain, especially flamenco. I have another Alhambra (classical model 6P) which I like very well. This builder makes a wonderful guitar for the money! I also own a 1999 German Vasquez Rubio classical and a 10 string classical from a luthier in Spain. I took a chance on the 10F as I was not able to locate one in local shops to try out. What I like is the authentic flamenco sound and playability at a reasonable price. If I continue with flamenco I would probably upgrade in the future to something like a Conde Hermanos A26 model from the Felipe V shop in Madrid. Am looking forward to travelling over there again to explore the many guitar shops.
