'THE POOR MANS NEGRA'. Solid german spruce top, laminated rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, spanish cedar neck. Nice thin neck makes for fast action, just what the doctor ordered.

Sound : 10
Has all the single note clarity and consistancy throughout the whole fretboard most guitarist are looking for, i havent found one note or area on the fretboard that drops out. Fast attack for that flamenco sound, low action (good for picado), and barks nicely when asked.
This guitar has beautiful clarity for solo peices, bright trebles and a nice sustain on the bass notes gives it an excellent overall tone.
How would i rate the sound? For the money, FULL MARKS.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I have left mine factory, its fine. Nice low action, easy to play. I also own a burguet 2f which retails for quite a bit more, whilst the finish is definatley nicer on the burguet, the sound is much better on the 7fp.
Example, all the inside of the 2f is nicely sanded and picture perfect whilst the inside of the 7fp is not as well sanded and finished, it doesnt look perfect. However this is just cosmetics i dont beleive having every last little strut looking perfect makes for better tone. You can tell this is one area that enabled them to produce a negra for this price, the other main area though is the laminated back and sides (meaning that in between two thin peices of rosewood is a peice of composite wood, reducing the total amount of rosewood needed which is really expensive).
This was my biggest concern, how would that effect the sound? The best choice of guitar for you is what YOU think sounds and feels good not what somebody else tells you sounds good. I tried it and i liked it, but as with all factory guitars you will find good ones in the batch and bad ones. Mine i beleive is a good one so if possible try a few of the same model to compare.
How would i rate the finish? What do you expect for the price, the inside is not picture perfect but its 100% funtional, the outside finish is nice enough. Rosette is nothing great, tuning pegs look sort of cheap but seem to hold tune o.k. No frills here, just a good cheap negra.
Loses a little for the messy inside and the pegs. The action and tone though, more than compensate. Bear in mind i am rating all this in context to the price, most negras average US$3600- or more.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Live use? no probs. Finish? seems fine. Dependable? seems fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion
dunno.

Overall Rating : 10
Playing flamenco 16 years, also own a conde and a burguet. If it was lost i would definatley replace it. More times than not i find myself using this guitar, my conde is 'old school'and unforgiving(but nice when tamed), this is modern and very playable. If you always wanted a negra but couldnt afford it, try one of these out.
