SBAO Stratocaster body. Made in USA. Swamp Ash 2 peaces solid body. Standard SSS routing. Routing with a shoulder as on '59 models to accommodate 11 screws pick guard. Routed for standard Stratocaster tremolo.
Body is unfinished though pretty good sanded.
Swamp Ash was standard on '50s and '70's stratocasters (and blond '60's as well) This one has four mounting holes for a neck hence in is not inspired on '70s body.
I've chose it not for it's beauty but weight and resonance. Other SBAO I've seen was better matched but wasn't that live and was heavier. This one is less pretty but it's a winner.
I guess it's inspired on '59 blond model.
Give it a 9 because for strat type of body it has everything I like.

At one moment I've wanted to have jet another different sounding Stratocaster. I've wanted Swamp Ash body in combination with neck that is build like once in first half of '62. Rosewood slab fingerboard 21 fret. Only I always use Jumbo frets. Kluson split shaft tuners. Vintage Alnico pickups, Vintage six point tremolo, USA electronics.
Got this body, finished it with Chinese Tung Oil. Gotoh hardware. CTS pots , Switchcraft etc. etc.
Result is so great. It has great mids, great high end and still warm bass and definition on bass notes as well. It has nice sustain as well.
I've tried neck I'm using on it at this moment on other body and difference is so great. Other body has good sustain and amount of bass but then again less definition on bass notes, less magic in mids and less transparent high tones.
I'm just putting in oil Allparts SRO neck and then I'll try that one on this body. I have good feeling about that neck.
Unplugged this body is louder then other I have. Plugged it's louder as well. When used with high gain it makes less mud then other body I have. Twang always cuts true mix.

Routing and neck mounting holes = perfect.
Surface relatively flat and smooth but then again Swamp ash is different and complicated.
To achieve some protection (from water and moisture) but still to have thin finish I've opted for oil.
looking on a top of a body one can't understand why did they connected this two peaces of ash on this way. Once looking from back strap button perspective one can see that grain is matched to better conducts a sound vibrations.
Functionality is 10 but it ain't that pretty there for 7.

Swamp Ash is soft. Specially oil finish is soft.
Other then that I guess with time it will sound only better.

two piece swamp ash, centre joined, vintage style pickup rout and 60's type control cavity rout. Routed for vintage/standard type tremolo bridge. Weight, just under 5 lbs. Body finished to 400 grit sandpaper, unsealed, no holes drilled other than neck mounting holes.
Overall quality good.

Great tap tone when raw, should give the expected crisp tone ash is known for when the project is finished.

Can't realy fault the quality of wood used or the construction and finishing, remembering that this is an unfinished body in that it still needed some filling and sanding. That's OK, I bought the body in that state because I wanted to do my own finishing. All routs were accurate to Fender specs ( Fender pickguards fit etc.), though the body isn't a 100% exact Fender copy, BUT no licenced or replacement bodies are in my experience. all of the big and popular makers have slight variations somewhere and over the years Fende has varied Strat bodies in some areas anyway. Overall this is a close rendition of a 60's strat body.

Quality is equal to Warmoth, Musikraft, the better Fender USA or Japanese bodies etc. that I have used or worked on over the years. I would definately buy Allparts products again and the same for their necks as I've used a couple of those too. Value for money is good, couldn't ask for more at this price.
