I got this guitar from some guy I don't even know. He said I could have it on permanent loan. (If your reading this, thanks.) Looks to me like it was made in the 70's or early 80's in Japan. It has 22 medium frets and the body is made of ply-wood. I think it has a rosewood fretboard, not so sure. It is a Les Paul Custom copy with: Arch-top, 2 tone and 2 volume, tune-o-matic bridge, 5 layer white binding, two paf style humbuckers, 3 way selector, bolt on neck. It has a black body, neck and headstock. Looks like it's been used a fair bit, the back is full of dings, one of the tuners has been replaced, nut has been replaced.

first off, It doesn't have the original pickups in it. When I got it, it had two crappy single coils made to look like PAF humbuckers. I got them replaced with two cheapo REAL humbuckers. They have a little bit of noise on distrortion, but sound quite nice. I mostly play from punk rock to heavy metal. I am currently using it with two hame made amps. one valve-state & one solid-state. The guitar sounds fairly heavy and lacks a bit of high end, but it might be the pickups. It sounds really nice through my valve amp with the treble and mid turned up to 7. In the end, the sound really depends on what your playing, but this mostly suits dark, heavy music. This I like.

The neck looks like it doesn't fit with the guitar properly. There's a gap about 3 mm thick on the inderside where the neck and body meet. It has LOADS of fretware, but surprisingly, not as much fret buzz as expected. Usually If I drop C the guitar (which I often do because I like to play alot of SOAD) then I do get quite a bit of fret buzz, But you can't hear it because I almost always have distrotion on the amp. The neck is also very fast, this I like.

This guitar Will withstand live playing easily. The hardware will last a few more decades yet and I don't think the finish will ware off just yet. I did buy a replcaement LP scratch plate though. But I doesn't look that good because The binding on that is new and clean and bright white and it doesn't do with the yellowed binding on the guitar. The strap buttons that came with the guitar, I'm sure are not the originals. I got them replaced with some patented nut and screw locking buttons though. I could depened on this guitar, but would always carry a backup.

I have been playing for about a year now and i am only 14. Please don't think that my reveiw is useless. I do know about guitars. I like it because of it's fat heavy dark sound. The other guitars I have compared it 2 are: korean squire strat, indo ibanez rx 40, and a maison. This guitar suits my style of playing and that's why I like it.
