This axe is from 97 or 98. I had a 56`relic strat that i sold and got this guitar in the deal. Swamp ash body, 3 colour burst, maple-rosewood neck with 22 heavy frets, vintage tremolo. 5 way switch. pick-ups are SD-1, S-DIR, SD2. And there`s a little switch between the tone and volume control. in one position it makes the pick.ups sound like strat`ish, and in the other position the pick-ups are noiseless, sounding more Les Paul`ish (humbuckers, you know..)Kinda cool. And it came with a really nice black-case, much better than the fender cases on the inside, thoug I like the tweed cover better...

Sound : 10
I am sorry to say that I these days due to some economical difficulties only have an Marshall G80R CD transistor amp, that doesn`t give the guitar any of the well deserved credit it should get, but of all the guitars that I have had the pleasure to have owned, this guitar has made the best sound on that amp, and i have owned a Gibson ES-335, Muddy Waters signatur tele, epiphone SG, Mex- strat, 62`reissue strat (really good one) and a 56`relic strat. I mostly play rock`n`roll and blues, and this guitar covers everything. I don`t use the noiseless "humbucker" thing alot, mainly the strat option. It sounds more "tight", louder with just the right bite, and that suits me. I really can`t come up with something I don`t like about it, but it really deserves the best amp you can afford!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I really can`t say anything about the factory set-up, since I got it used, but it has a lovely feel, and the action is just right, not as low as the ES-335 I had, but not as high as you somethimes need to set Fender Strats to get tone and sustain. This one has lots of tone and sustain, and is really loud acoustic. This guitar has been 5 years on the road with it`s previous owner, and it doesn`t have a single scratch!?! The neck, and middle pick-up was set to high, but no big deal, maby the previous owner liked it that way, I didn`t..

Reliability/Durability : 10
Due to poor economy I currently only have this guitar (first time I don`t have a back-up). That way I don`t have a choise but to depend on it alone, but it has never let me down, and I gig with it without fear! It`s a feeling I only have had with the 62`reissue strat I had. I give it a 10, and hope that the elixir 0-10 will be just as reliable in the future as it has been in the past. If so you just can`t break this axe!!

Been playing for 10 years. have owned a lot of guitars. I just play plain guitar, no effects into the amp. I haven`t tried any other Tom Anderson guitars, but if they are as good as this one I will also buy a Tom Anderson tele. And if I had known that they were this good I would have got one many years ago! If it were lost or stolen, I would get a new one as fast as I could! Really a fantastic piece of wood! If you haven`t tried one out I urge you to do so, but you better have have the cash ready, cause you`re gonna buy it!
