Sound....well, I'm a bit disappointed with Tom's pickups. I was lucky enough to play my Anderson right along side a James Trussart Rusty Steelcaster. The Duncan Antiquity Tele pickups used on the Steelcaster blew the doors of the Andersons when played through a Fender Twin Reverb. The Anderson TV3 in the bridge position yields a "beyond harsh" tele sound, while the M1 mini-humbucker could be described as thoroughly muddy. My personal amp is a Soldano SLO with no effects other than a Soldano SpaceBox. The current pickup arrangement on my T Classic was not designed to be used in conjunction with high gain heavy distortion settings, so on the SLO this means turning the gain way down. The guitar instead prefers to inhabit clean/light break-up to crunch range. The tone control on this guitar is more useful and responsive than on any other guitar I have ever played. I've never rocked a tone control like this before! Before you go for an Anderson T Classic do whatever you can to check out a Trussart.

Factory set-up was great, the wood looks great, the neck feels and plays like a dream. There are absolutely no flaws in the guitar's construction. Tom Anderson really knows what he is doing when it comes to wood. The stainless frets are a nice addition to the already great craftsmanship. The two strap buttons located at the base of the guitar are also a nice feature as they allow you to fine tune your strap placement and lean the guitar up against your amp without worrying about it falling over.

This guitar for sure will be around longer than I will.

I once emailed Tom about his warranty. He not only answered my question personally, but was very helpful and polite. It is obvious that he is still excited about what he does. Also, his website has a nice little feature that allows you to enter your serial number for the full specs on your baby.

I have been playing guitar for somewhere around 10 years. Currently, I'm at a bit of an impasse with this guitar. I love the way it looks and feels, yet the pickups are a bit lacking. I may sell it to purchase a Trussart, or perhaps just replace the pickups with Duncan Antiquities. Although, it doesn't seem right replacing pickups on a $2,800 guitar.

My T Classic was made in November of 2001, alder body done in a beautiful satin fiesta red finish, a '62 roundback neck with rosewood fretboard. The pups are VA12, VA12, and TV3 in bridge position. 5 way pickup selector with vintage voicing, pull+ bridge pickup and a VA booster switch. It has a fixed bridge and is Buzz Feiten savvy.

This guitar was created for the musician who likes a lot of tonal variety. I am very happy with all of the guitar's sounds. It does the Tele-Strat thing very well, I especially love the bridge pickup and all the ways it can be used with the pull-tone pot add bridge pup sounds. I have never owned a Tele-Strat that I did not think the bridge pup was lame. The TV3 has got girth and edge, but it is still very musical. No icepick in the forehead!! Sometimes I wonder why the pups are not noiseless, but that is when I find myself on a noisy circuit anyway. I use it in conjunction with: TA Tele, Boss TU-2 tuner, MXR Dyna Comp, Fulltone Fulldrive, Boss DD-5 Delay, Fulltone Fat Boost, Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, to a THD Univalve, or to a Fender Vibro-King. I can do lots of sounds with this baby, it's tone pot is very well voiced.

I like lower action, so it needed adjustment. Some of the fret edges are a little sharp, no big deal. Great Job!!

This guitar will last a lifetime, I am sure of it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them. I bought it from Alpha Audio, I liked them very much.

I've been playing 15 years and consider myself a fortunate player. I have played and traveled to many places and at times made a dollar or two doing it. I play with professionals usually, and many have commented on the sound of this guitar as being fantastic, one thing I have not commented on that I feel is a factor is the Buzz Feiten System. Being more in tune makes me sound better without a doubt. Play a chord melody with the Buzz F, and then without, big difference. $1849 is a steep price, but I don't mind paying that price for a guitar of this quality, it truly inspires me to play it and I am happy I made the purchase. I hope to buy a Hollow T classic in the next 6-12 months.
