Born on Jan. 4, 1997, my Classic is sunburst with maple fretboard, heavy vee neck (think '57), Anderson Vintage pickups, 5-way switching with push/pull on/off for neck pickup in the single tone control, and Feiten tuning system. Maybe made for the '97 NAMM show, judging from some weird stickers on the case. It has vintage trem, locking Grovers, and alder body. Jumbo frets. Nice Tolex-style case included.

I'm in love with the sounds this guitar makes. Tone control is highly useful, not mushy like my Strats and Teles with treble rolled off. My bass player even noticed (!) how it cuts thru our live mix. I primarily play blues and classic rock thru a Mesa Maverick or a '67 Deluxe Reverb. Pedals are Boss Blues Driver, MXR compressor, and ART DST-4 for the weird stuff. For my use, there's not a bad sound in this guitar. Does the SRV thing, really shines on plucky Strat stuff, and the back pickup is just nasty when cranked. Vintage P/Us are a tad noisy in high gain situations, but better than a 60's Strat. Dead quiet, though, on position 2 & 4 since the middle P/U is reverse wound.

This thing was so perfect that I used digital calipers and actually measured bridge positions, string and P/U heights, neck relief, etc. so I could get back to it if something ever happened. The neck is smooth, well fretted and finished. You got a lick you can almost play? Just think about it and you've played it...this instrument actually took me to the next level, and I use a lot of vintage guitars: '62 Jazzmaster, '64 Tennessean, '81 Les Paul, "83 Strat w/ Anderson HBs, etc. A/B comparison with a friend's '62 Strat showed the Anderson's value, even with its high price.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I never gig with only one instrument...they're machines, they break. That said, this one of the most solid guitars I've had. The alder body keeps it light, too. Body relief is good for my well padded body, very comfy onstage. Two bottom strap buttons are cool, it won't tip over if you lean it on your amp. (My 27 guitar stands are always at home.)

Without a doubt, the finest instrument I ever owned. The price is steep, but still a value considering what you get. Priced a '57 Strat lately? All the intangibles are there, working together, giving an onstage confidence that really lets you stretch your limits. If you are truly a guitar lover, pro or not, do yourself a favor and buy an Anderson.
Playing 37 years (I should be a lot better), this is guitar #18 in my current stable, mostly vintage stuff (play them all). I wanted the switcheroo system, but couldn't get my hands on one soon enough...once you start playing these things, you want instant gratification. The 5-way is good, though, with a pull switch on the tone knob that turns on the neck P/U in any position of the 5-way...you can get all three on at once.
One fault. The bridge location on 1st and 2nd strings with the Feiten System is such that there is a pressure point where the string bends as it comes thru the trem, ala Stevie Ray's problem. I'm using a bit of heat-shrink tubing behind the saddle, and this works, but it's a pain if you break a 10 in the dark. You ain't gonna change it quick cause the string remnant won't come out of the trem ass'y without pokin with a toothpick. DIdn't get any poop on the Feiten System, either.
Speaking of Feiten, I was leery of this, but they all had it, so I got it. After extensive playing, I have to admit it: this thing is in TUNE up and down the neck. Play a Major chord up the neck with the 3rd on the first string and you'll believe. My Strats and Teles seem so out of tune to me now, I have trouble using 'em. Try the Feiten, you'll love it. BTW, stick with the Stay-in Tune strings that came on it...tried my usual brands, and went back.

My Anderson Classic was born on 7-4-98 with a burgundy mist metallic finish, green guard and Anderson VA pickups. Rosewood 62 roundback neck. Vintage trem.

This guitar is one of those "magical" guitars. It sounds so warm, fat and crisp. Watch out Eric Johnson. I play this guitar through a Mesa Trem-O-Verb with little FX. This instrument has done everything from Clapton to Beck to SRV and never let me down

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar is flawless. Period.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is my main guitar. I always seem to grab this guitar when I need to lay down that perfect solo. It has never let me down.

Everyone at Anderson Guitars are great. Tom and Roy are the most unassuming guys in the business. Laurie is by far the friendliest woman I've ever spoken to and Scott, Steve and Jesse are truly wonderful people. A personal thanks to Scott for setting up my guitar on a Saturday night in Nashville when he could have been out enjoying the town!!!

I've been playing for many years but, it wasn't until I got my Anderson's that I truly began playing. Order my CD from me and you can hear how great this guitar sounds along with my other Anderson's. Only $10!!!! Anyhow, forget the rest, buy an Anderson a become a member of the family!!!!
