Made in California, 2005. New model from Anderson. 3 M series small humbuckers, short scale, mahogany, maple top, 'nearly natural amber' quilted. 5 way switching with a tone push/pull to put bridge pup into parallel or full on. Bigsby. Not as many sounds as other set-ups, as you can't split the neck.

The whole guitar has an ergonomic edge. Flair without pretense. Simple, elegant.

Sound : 10
I play anything from honky tonk to blues to surfy ambient twang to fusion-space rock. This guitar seems to blend Gretch, Les Paul and Tele sounds into a distinct tone that is both open and spacious as well as focused and rich. I've never seen another guitar that has this balance. The Bigsby stays in tune perfectly. (Plus you can play double stop country licks without pulling the high strings out of tune as per vintage tremelos- very cool. You can even drop the E to D and not have to re-tune) I could play this guitar for any type of gig- it can even pull off single coil sounds pretty well, albeit with a bit more mid-rangy and toothsome bite- and although I'm a long term Tele player, I must say this guitar has changed me and opened up a whole 'nother universe of feel and tone. If you're a Gibson style player and you've always wanted to blend in Gretch and Fender without going long scale and keeping that mahagony warmth, this guitar does the trick, and I'm floored. Or, like me, you're coming from the other direction, this guitar is a magical link between worlds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
All flawless- gorgeous top. One quarter truss turn and it is spot-on.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is my 3rd Anderson, and they're built as well as any guitar on the market that I've seen, including all the big guns.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Great people, have dealt with them with pleasure.

Overall Rating : 9
I'm not a big brand loyalty type, but to me Andersons have a vibe and touch that make them special, a kind of livelyness and spirit. The people at Anderson seem the very best of California- a genuine 'stoked' quality to what they do, in the highest sense of 'stoked', passionate and precise. A nice blend of tradition and innovation. It shows.

I've been playing for 30 years, teles and such through Blackface stlye amps. Semi-pro on and off.

Anyway, I've got to say that this guitar has suprised me- I thought it would be great, but it's quickly become one of my all-time favorite guitars. There are so many great sounding guitars for less out there- but I've never regreted paying big for Anderson. I'm hardly wealthy- but I'm glad I'll have this guitar even if I can't afford medicine when I'm 75. (Let's hope it's not an arthritis medication though! Ouch!)
I'm not going to give it a ten because it's so expensive- but if you can afford it, it's worth every friggin' penny.
