Features : 8
2 volumes 2 tones
2 random humbuckers
bold on neck
mine was #140 good condition with a really really nice case. i may have payed a little too much after reading other prices, but i've heard that i got a bargain?

Sound : 5
It a good sound for the price, but this baby cant play all styles of music. The pickups are pretty poor but what do u expect from a guitar costing around #100?!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
As it is an old model (70's) the frets were worn to a perfect level leaving me with the fastest damn neck iv ever played. Thats what i love about this guitar, its so damn fast!! Pretty good setup but sadly goes out of tune, even after replacing the machineheads :S

Reliability/Durability : 7
Solid as a rock, hasnt faulted since iv had it. it works after 30 years with basically no replacements!!!

I wouldn't use this as backup for any gig simply because i play metal and i need some really high output pickups, but im sure for rock and blues players it would be just fine..

Overall Rating : 7
Good for the price,

+ its a stunner!!

Japanese 70s SG lookalike, wood was solid and blonde but I treated it to a John Squire paintjob for a video shoot. Maple neck. Wide low frets.

Two humbuckers, four knobs. I believe Antoria was Ibanez's budget brand so all the hardware is, well, cheap. The guitar would not stay in tune. This would probably have been fixed with better machine heads, but back the day these would have cost almost as much as the guitar.

Some SG's have a bigsby-style trem: this one was a hardtail.

Sound : 3
Mud, mud, glorious mud. I don't know why I bought this guitar. Maybe I was having a Tony Iommi moment. But I don't like humbuckers and the wimpy buckers fitted to this didn't help. Perhaps someone could love it, but I wasn't impressed.

Good for fuzz, not much good for owt else.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 3
First the positives: the action was super low and smooth. Great for slides. Not so great for bending etc. The neck was wide but shallow (see below) making it theoretically easy to play however the repellent polyurethane finish sticks to sweaty hands making progress up the neck difficult.

Even worse the neck was decidedly floppy: this guitar didn't have a bigsby and didn't frankly need one. A gentle bit of pressure to the headstock and you have all the swoops you might want. This of course then puts the heads out of tune...

Reliability/Durability : 3
I think I only gigged this guitar once as a backup and it was out of tune by the end of the song. I expect I could have made it better but the effort to rescue a budget guitar didn't seem worth it. I bought a Tele and rediscovered single coil, twang and guitars that sound like guitars.

Never had to contact the company...

Overall Rating : 7
Having said all that, oddly enough I still own this guitar. I have a certain amount of affection for it despite its manifest flaws. Some budget Japanese guitars are great, some are so-so and some have "character" - this is definitely in the last category. If I could be bothered I'd be tempted to put some proper machine heads and pick-ups on and feed the wobbly neck through a big delay for a My Bloody valentine sound, but I think it's just going to sit in the corner looking nice...

Bought my Antoria (Lawsuit model)in 1976 and paid 110 pounds for it.Fair bit of money in those days. Its a left hander.

Sound : 10
Always liked the sound and I have played it through American amps over the last 30 years. These amps ranged from Music Man,Maine,Fender.
Recently I purchased a Laney valve amp and had the guitar fully serviced. It sounds suberb.I prefer it to my 77 Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Action is phenomenal, total control all down the neck with no buzz.100 times better than a couple of 78 Telecasters I once owned. No adjustments were required from new and the neck has only been adjusted once in its lifetime.Finish and quality suberb and apart from a few small chips looks as good as new.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Estimated number of gigs this guitar has been on?Had to guess about 2500.and yes I would take this to any gig without a backup guitar.T

Customer Support : No Opinion
Up to date I have nor required assistance from the manufacturers

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Been playing 33years.If it was stolen or lost I would probably buy a Gibson Sg.Why do I love it is hard to define, some guitars fit you better like wearing a pair of gloves.Just feels at home as soon as you put it around your neck.It balances beautifully, unlike my Gibson Les Paul which means a trip to the chiropractor after 3hours around your neck.

not sure of year i bought it about 1975 or 76 for about #70 in a second hand shop, its got 2 volume controls + 2 tone controls twin humbuckers with a really good meaty sound the tuners i'm not sure what they are but they stay in tune for ages i have a very nice hammer slammer and i tell you no lies this guitar stays in tune far longer than my hammer and to be honest theres not much between the two guitars even though the hammers a much more expensive guitar,as a matter of fact i have a lower action on the antoria than the hammer and also i have played loads of more expensive guitars and they dont come anywhere near the antoria for playability and sound

Sound : 9
great rock sound i use it through a marshall avt50 and it sounds great, very loud as well as having a good warm neck tone

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
i got this guitar second hand almost 20 year ago and its never being professionally since i got it and its still the lowest action guitar i've ever played its just needed a few tweeks now and again and its never had any major work done to it very hard wearing frets its got a few paint chips now and the plastic knob off thecontrol has went the distance but apart from that its still great so no complaints there

Reliability/Durability : 9
i would have no problems using this guitar as a back up, even though i have praised it so much it would not be my first choice guitar to use live but thats probably because i'm so use to my hammer but if anyone came across one of these guitars in a second hand shop believe your luck and buy it cos they are very good
