Hackberry body - very beautiful grain. Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. 21 medium frets. Grover locking tuners. Hand made Tele style pickups. Bone nut.

This guitar was totally built by hand in a small shop in Canada. I am very impressed and pleased with this guitar.

Sound : 10
I play everything from Led Zeppelin to Dick Dale with this guitar.
The pickups are awesome... Mike Turk Pickups, also from Canada.

It is wired up like a standard Tele. I love the sound of this baby.

Set-up is great. Action is fine, in fact I raised it a touch... but thats just me.

The finish is done by hand and it shows... not in a bad way... it just has that hand rubbed look to it. No mirror like plastic finish here and that suits me fine.

Reliability/Durability : 9
So far so good and I have cranked on it a lot. I have no concern about ist durability.

Customer Support : 10
The builder (John) seems very interested in making sure his customers are happy. He has checked in with me a few times. I am sure if there is an issue, he will be there to look after it.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 25 years. This is one of my 2 favorite guitars. If I lost it or it got stolen I would have to get John to build me another one... I love it that much.

This guitar sounds great. One of the pluses are the pickups that (like the guitar) are hand built. I use it with a VOX modeling amp and have tried it on just about every setting pssible and the is always something there to please.

The insturment came setup perfectly by John Kingma who is Apollo guitas. If you got their web site you will understand more about John's philosophy on guitar building better than I could ever write.

This guitar will definitely withstand road work or even attacking a tank and wining. Everything about this guitar is built like it is to last forever.

Customer Support : No Opinion
n/a but I have no doubt that John will stand behind what he creates.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing over 30 years and have owned just about one of everything out at one time or other. I have an extensive collection I use for recording and this guitar is defintely there.

For the price John charges for a handbuilt guitar Fender teles can't even compare.
