it's a foreign guitar...22frets, Black with gold plated hardware. it's probably a cheap laminate top, 2 humbuckers, three way toggle, bolt on neck. Tune-o-matic bridge, suck ass tuning gears. 4 pots, two volume, two tone, one for each pickup whi is cool.

Sound : 1
from the factory it's pretty much standard issue foreign quality pickups. nothing fancy. They work but they lack in the quality dept.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
the action is fine the pick-ups will need to be adjusted. poorly filed fretwire made this guitar into another crappy foreign import

Reliability/Durability : 2
They are ruggedly built.I use a a custom ibanez s-540 that they don't make anymore and even that guitar has a few flaws that need to be worked on.

Customer Support : 1
who cares...it's nothing more than korean business investors making a quick buck off the hardworking american family

Overall Rating : 2
if you buy this, be prepared to do some major overhauls....
I bought it because it was a fixed bridge guitar. No stupid floyd whamo junk bridge...i do like the overall design.it's a foreign guitar...22frets, Black with gold plated hardware. it's probably a cheap laminate top, 2 humbuckers, three way toggle, bolt on neck. Tune-o-matic bridge, suck ass tuning gears. The frets were done absolutely HORRIBLE....the friggin high e string has a tendency to get caught on the edge of one of the upper registers....not just my copy but a freind of mine has the same guitar as well with same symptoms; Bad fret job, suck ass tuners, a toggle switch that i had to take apart and adjust because the contacts weren't making a solid connection, hence alot of breaking up and to the point that it would not even activate the bridge humbucker.
Other than that it really is a decent guitar, i paid 400 for mine, but than again i knew the flaws involved. This model needs work after it is bought ie... fret job, replace tuners with locking ones as well as a better gear ratio, better quality jumbuckers and a better three-way toggle switch. The only thing i won't touch is the tune-o-matic bridge... that's the only thing i really like about the guitar.

This is an old Aria LP copy, and is the only Goldtop Aria I have ever seen. I found it in a pawnshop, which is where I find all my guitars, and I paid $225 for it. It's worth every cent and a heck of a lot more. The guitar is all mahogany, so of course, it's very heavy, just like its Gibson counterpart. They were made in Japan in the 1970's, although I don't know the exact year that mine was made. It does have a serial number, however. I don't really need to go into detail in this area, because it is an exact copy of a Les Paul. It does have the trapezoidal inlays on the fretboard which look very nice.

Sound : 9
This guitar sounds pretty good with the stock pickups, but if I were using it as a main guitar, I'd change them to Duncan Distortions. My style is an 80's heavy metal style with shredding type leads, so I don't use this guitar at all. I bought it because I knew that Aria made some of the best LP copies in the world at that time, and I had owned another one about 13 years ago and sold it. (that one was tobacco sunburst) I vowed that if I ever found another one, I'd buy it, and sure enough, I found one. Again, everything is comparable to a Gibson Les Paul: sound, looks, feel. I have used it mainly with old Marshall Amps, of which of have several.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This Goldtop LP copy was built beautifully, and everything was done right. I wish Gibson would make guitars this nice again, and stop charging such outrageous prices just for the name. The action is very low, and it plays great. The guitar is in nearly perfect condition, and is one of those instruments which probably was put under someones bed and left there for years. Seriously, there is no wear to be found on it. It also came with the original hardshell case which is in equally excellent shape. I just love it!

Reliability/Durability : 9
Everything about this guitar is top notch. It would definitely stand up to live playing, although I wouldn't use it because it doesn't fit my style. (I'm a Charvel freak) The hardware is solid, nothing is rusted, and the guitar is quite old. It is very dependable, although I only use it as a novelty at home. I use my Charvels for live playing and recording. The finish is also very nice and has no flaws. I swear, this thing is a perfect Goldtop copy. Don't gig without a backup, regardless of the guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Obviously, you can't get customer support on something this old when they stopped making them so long ago. I assume they were involved in all the lawsuits back then, along with Ibanez, for making copies that were just too dang good. The newer Aria Les Pauls are not the same as these old ones, and look a bit odd.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing about 22 years, and have played professionally. I own so much equipment I can't list it all here, but I have over 30 guitars, around 20-25 amps, ADAT studio, and more. I love pulling out this guitar when my Les Paul playing buddies come over, and watching them drool over it. I have standing offers from a couple of people who want to buy it, but I'd never sell it unless there was a real emergency and I needed cash. I have owned real Les Pauls, and they are no better than this one. What I love about it is that they are so affordable, and yet are no different from the real thing (except for the label, of course). You guys can have all your multi-thousand dollar Gibsons; I'll buy up every one of these Aria LP copies I can find if I am fortunate enough to come across more. Not likely, they are getting pretty rare. I always keep an eye out for these, and if you like Les Pauls, you should too. If you ever find one in a pawnshop, you might want to buy it up before somebody like me comes along. I mostly stick to the old Charvel guitars, which are also ridiculously under-priced these days, and I buy nearly every one of them that I find, too. But I will make an exception for the Les Paul copies from Aria built in the 1970's. They are just too good to pass up, even if I don't use them much. Great guitars...start your search today, and have fun looking.

This is a custom model, manufactured in Japan sometime between '75 and '77. It has no serial number (which is common on early Aria's) so there is no way to tell exactly. This is a pre-lawsuit guitar with the Gibson style headstock, and neck-through-body construction. All mahogony with carved maple top. This guitar is in a word, beautiful. Multi-layered bound body, neck, and headstock. Abalone logo inlay on headstock. Abalone and ivory "vine" inlay on the fretboard with 22 frets. Stock chrome tuners are sealed with an "A" logo and work excellent. Black satin finish all around. Tun-O-Matic bridge, stop tailpiece. I replaced the cheesy plastic nut with a bone nut, and replaced the stock pick-ups (which were crap) with a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck, and a JB in the bridge positions. Only gave it a nine due to the cheesy stock nut and pick-ups, but what do you want for $379.

Sound : 9
HUGE sounding guitar once I put the Duncans in. The stock pickups were pretty bad - sounded thin and lifeless. Now, I'd put this guitar up against any genuine Les Paul Custom. The only thing I might change now is to put a gibson 3-way switch in. This switch is getting old and just cuts out once in a while when I change modes. I play through a fender hot rod deville. Love it! I also own a '67 Gibson SG Standard. The Duncans on my Aria have much higher output than the Gibson PAF's (which need to be cleaned so that may not be a fair comparison)

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Bought it used, so it needed a set-up anyway.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Incredible finish - one of the best I've seen. Silky smooth. Great tuners, and hardware. Great guitar all around.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know. AriaUSA wouldn't know what to do with thing. It's out of their league.

Overall Rating : 10
If someone stole it, I'd track them down and beat'm. I consider this guitar irreplaceable. I have to admit, it was a rare find. I haven't seen one like it anywhere. And the newer ones I've seen don't even come close (bolt-on's, cheesy hardware, altered shape).

Green clear finish, over mirrow image symetrical solid top. Neck thru body. Back of guitar is contoured to fit your body. single cutaway. the cutaway is amore graceful "S" shape, where the neck meets the body. I guess you'ed have to see it. Its much nicer than the Gibson shape. its fully bound "ivory". 22 frets rectangular pearl inlays, Rosewood fret board.
all gold hardware. Grover style locking tuners. medium frets. two duncen symore engineered Humbucker pickups. 3 way swich 2 volume, 2 tone pots.

Sound : 10
This guitar sounds great. Mellow to bluzie on the rhythm pickup metal to scream on the lead. although not as much scream as my B.C. Rich, and I have any Idea what kind of pick ups the are. Its being played through a Tube Works 100 Watt combo, which has a clean and a tube distortion channel. it sounds really good through the nateral tube channel. the clean Channel is paired up with a Zoom 1010 effects prosessor. and a Cry Baby WAh.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I beleave this guitar was a factory second, it has a finish flaw in the binding at the top of neck. other than that it is a beautiful guitar. It has fantasic action and plays very nicely all the way up the neck.

Reliability/Durability : 10
No problems So far. I've owned it for a year.

This guitar was made between 1977-81 in Japan. It has 22 frets. The top is laminated and the body is bound, this one is a nice tobbacco sunburst finish. It has 2 passive humbuckers and a 3 way selector switch with 2 volume and 2 tone controls. The pickups are stock..not sure what kind.
The body and neck are mahogany( body is NOT solid), and a ebony fingerboard.Nice fat neck with block inlay.
It has a tune-O-matic bridge and a stop tailpiece..not sure what kind of tuners are on it. All the Hardware is gold.
This is a great Les Paul copy.

Sound : 8
This guitar fits my musical style which is Rock/Blues and a little Jazz. I'm playing it through a Line6 AX2 212..and it sounds amazing.
Rich and full LP tone. I love it..feels great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I bought this guitar used 6/16/00. The action is super low and plays very easy. I had to adjust the bridge pickup, it was not close enough to the strings.
The finish is nice, it has a few scratches and a ding, the binding is faded, the hardware is oxidized a bit, the pots and switch was a little noisy, but after spraying them with some pot cleaner fixed all that. You have to remember..this is a 20+ year old guitar.
Very good workmanship altogether.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar has withstood the test of time, a truly wonderful Les Paul copy.( Just wish it was a Cherry Sunburst :) ).
No one should ever gig without a backup.

I've been playing for the fun of it for as old as this guitar is. I also own an American made Lone Star strat, Ibanez RG560, and a PRS Custom 24.(that never sees daylight).
I would buy another if something happened to this one, if I could find one. I bought it for its looks and price and how eazy it plays, I didn't need it..it was an impulse buy.
If only it was a Cherry Sunburst.

I recently bought a Aria Pro 2(les paul copy) electric guitar. It has a arch top with a transparent green finish. It has 22 frets and a soild top. It has a 3-way toggle switch. It has semor duncon blues pickups one at the bridge and one at the neck. it has a cutaway bodysstile with a stop tail piece bridge. i'm not for sure on the brand of tuners i think they are just stock but the ar locking. And the neck is made of mohogony and a rosewood fret board, and has medium frets. It has all gold hardware. I paid $400.00 for it and i was wondering if i got a good deal on it, or if i got ripped off. My friend owns 2 Gibson Nighthawks and he paid $800.00 a piece for them and he just as well play mine than his. He says he likes the tone more than his. I love the guitar myself and i hope i done well buying it.

Sound : 9
IT sounds really good. It makes a very good blues style guitar and it handles distortion really well. it very quite also. It has a real pure tone .
