This was 23 odd tears old when I got it. Japanese built between 79 and 81. 22 Frets, Mahogany body, mahogany and rosewood neck. Master Volume, Master Tone, Three position pickup switch and coil tap. Stunning amberburst finish.

Sound : 9
Amazing sound. Running through a Vantage amp this baby can produce a vast array of sounds, but the driven rock/blues lead sound makes you want to melt. Sustain is great. If you want versatile but love 60/70/80s rock then this baby sure does sing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Nice action and set up. Some buckle rash on back but no other damage.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I would play this anywhere, never lets me down but I dont think it is wise to play anywhere without back up. If I see another I will buy it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea but the website seems informative.

Playing for too long. I would prefer individual volume/tone controls but I can live without it. Hope nobody nicks it. It was guitars like this that caused all the lawsuit malarky. Quality instrument. I love it anyway

Probably built around 1980 in Japan, I bought this guitar a few moths ago from some guy who had been really careful with this one. Came in the original case and was almost as good as new. Maple body, maple bolt-on neck (although you could be fooled thinking it was set), ebony fretboard with dot inlay, beautiful arched maple top, 2 Aria humbucking pickups, master volume, master tone, 3-way switch, one-piece Noble bridge & tailpiece, antique violin finish, oilbath Schaller type tuning machines, medium sized neck with flat fretboard, medium jumbo frets. Kinda Les Paul model but more modern. Bound top and fretboard.

Sound : 10
The pickups are original but truly amazing, they are constructed like PAF's and sound really alike. Also on high volumes no feedback so the winding of these things must be really good, I did not have to pot them at all! And although it does not give any remarks that they would not be genuine Aria pickups the bobbins have exactly the same marks as the Gibson PAF types. Combined with the all-maple-construction this guitar is one of my favourites, powerful but always bright and clear.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I did the setup myself, this guitar allows for a verly low action. One of the easiest guitars to play I own. Very well built guitar, so well that I bought me another. I must confess I did sell that one (PE 500 with flamed maple top) since it really looked used and I would have had to refinish the instrument to match the other one properly.

Reliability/Durability : 10
As stated earlier, very well built. I foresee no problems in the next 20 years or so.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Aria USA does not know anything about the older Aria guitars and that seems to be the only place to go. Bummer. Nevertheless, no support needed.
