this guitar is a copy of the 70's hummingbird, natural solid spruce top, laminated mohogany sides and back-[stained cherry], pearl or plastic block inlays in the fingerboard and a nice engraved hummingbird pickguard, bought used off of e-bay, no case , nice chrome tuners

well I bought the guitar and the top was pulled up it, sounded good but I did not like the top that way, so I installed the jld bridge doctor and pulled the top down, it lowered the action also so I installed a new bone saddle also, in about three days it sounded fantastic, plenty of bass and bright treble and lots more volume, a good guitar for bluegrass or country

this guitar was made in the 70's in japan so the workmanship [for an imported guitar] is excellent, I bought it used so I don't know how the factory set-up was

it has held up good to be thirty something , looks almost like a new guitar, except for the pulled up top which the bridge doctor fixed-no problems

if you want a hummingbird copy guitar and can find one of these from $100 to $350 I would buy one, they are as close as you will get, I know caused I have owned 2 gibson hummingbirds in the past, I just love the deep sound it produces
