this is ann update to my earlier review.
So far I've refretted the tele, put schaller locking tuners, changed the pots and had the neck pup rewound. Pickups r definately alnico!!!!
A couple of weeks ago I decided to sell it, but then I had an idea, because I liked the body and the pups I figured Id have it customised totaly, neckthrough/bolt in construction tele!!!!Cant wait to see how it turns out!!!

I believe it was made inbetween '72 & '74 in Japan. Can't tell the exact date of manufacture.
22 frets + a zero fret, in this case - wasted - needs a refret.
Thinline....funky F hole....well you know what it means!
1 volume and 1 tone control plus a 3-way /gibson-style/ toggle switch! Yes, something I always wished a telecaster had, because the standard pickup selector switches always bothered the hell out of me!
Pickup configuration is simple-2 weird single coils-bridge, both, neck.
Uh, I can't really tell much about the pups, but since the're stock I bet Aria made them.
They r both chrome covered single coils.
4,5 and 4,6 Kohms output.
I think they might be ceramic.....I'll no for sure once I open the guitar. Unpotted!Weeeeeeee!!!!
Passive!
Well the body is made of mahogany or some type of wood very similar to mahogany, very light even for a hollowed-out type of guitar!
Neck is maple, but what struck me, that it is not one piece!!
The backshape of the neck reminds me of Am. vintage series strats.Very comfortable! Black dot markers, maple fretboard.
Body style is telecaster thinline!
Neck finish is laquered-that will have to go once in the process of restoration!Body is also laquered-natural dark brown color!
Bridge is an interesting piece of work - the design looks to me like it just came from a western movie, hahaha!
Strings r topladed, all and all the bridge is really uncomfortable-spikey, lots of sharp edges-cheap!!3 saddles, also sharp, surprisingly they intonate quite well!
Tuners r stock I thought of replacing them, but since they keep tune well enough I will keep them 4 the sake of having everything original on the guitar!
I'd say that the neck is on the thick side wich is fine with me!Comfortable nevertheless!Maple maple maple maple!
I give it 8 because less is more and years have had their impact on playability, finish, pups!Once I get it tuned up it'll be perfect!
Could use a middle pup, but I do have a strat!

Well havent played it live.
Pickups squeal but I dont mind!I will have them rewound and potted.
The bridge pup is nice, nothing sharp and irritating in there.Could use a bit more output.Set it up there near the strings and still cant get it to be louder then the neck pickup. The neck pickup is fat, and I mean fat and a bit muddy for my taste.I really hate when you have that big difference between 2 pups! But again, they do have character and thats what I like!
Not really noisy!I really dig the 3 way toggle!!

Well 30 years ago it might have been set up like a dream, but right now that the only really drawback.Bad action.Wasted frets make it harder to bend strings!
No flaws!
Lots of cracks and digs on the body but I really dont mind!

If it survived the first 30 years I bet it'll hang in there a 30 more. Neck is straight as an arrow & I think that says a lot on durability!

You can see I did not rate it.
I treat it as my project guitar, I always wanted a telecaster but couldn't find the right one for the money!
I think , 4 the money this guitar is absolutely great! If you see one, buy it, fix it up and bet it'll last you a lifetime!
Information on these T*Casters is scarse so if you do have some info please contact me!!!
Sice im the 1st one to write about this specific model, maybe this will encourage other owners of this beautifull guitar to share some info!
