Oh well, this is my second electric guitar, the first one is Fernandes LD-105kk (artist model), and i have been playing guitar for about 6 years. Enough time to make someone grow up. All right, for the specs, like other users have said, 22 frets, Australian made, i bought it in 2006, blue color, double single and a humbucker pickups, and it comes with a gig bag, 10W amp, extra strings, a few kits, strap, cable, and four picks. Others might not depend on this guitar well but somehow, from my experiences, this 'axe' is not so bad it is my second guitar if my Fernandes is in problem.

Sound : 7
For the sound, i play mostly J-Rock (heavily influenced by Ken, the guitarist of L'Arc~en~Ciel). Most of my playing style is rock but sometimes it will vary depending on the song i will play. When i firstly used this guitar with its amp, well, i was a bit unsatisfied because the amp doesn't have any 'gain' button, only the 'gain' knob was there so it was hard to get the right feel when riffing the guitar. So what i did to make the sound much more favorable, heighten the 'gain' knob but lower the volume knob. It will help. Playing using the single and middle pickups are thinner than playing with the humbucker. The humbucker is the only option to play with crunchy sounds if you cannot reach the amp while playing. There are two tone knobs and actually to make the sound better, adjust the knobs when you are using the first pickup. That is the only way you can analyse the tone it creates. In overall, the sound this guitar created may not satisfy some users who had been playing with many higher quality guitars. It is also not for beginners guitar because sometimes, i prefer this guitar more than my Fernandes. The most important thing is, not much about the quality, but more on the player's skills.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
In overall, the finishing for this guitar is 'just nice'. From my experiences, for the pickups to produce more favorable sounds, try to loosen the middle screws of the humbucker, until that it is nearer to the strings. This trick should produce brighter sounds. The built-in chromatic tuner saved me a lot of time, and efforts. Sometimes i'll refer this guitar's tune when my Fernandes is out his. Great invention!

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar is my backup guitar when i do any of my performances. It did a very good job last year when i was performing with my band at my university's 'battle of the band'. It is something like a gig but somehow it is legal for students. At that time, my Fernandes was at guitar shop for a few repairs and this guitar was with me for about 3 hours of playing. It was really dependable.

Customer Support : 3
In Malaysia, i found out that there is no Ashton dealer at all. So the only thing i can do if this guitar is somehow damaged or broken, i will bring it back to the guitar shop where i bought it. The warranty given was 6 months but even until now, there has been no problem at all.

Overall Rating : 6
I have been playing guitar for almost 6 years, since i was 14 years old. I have joined many gigs and performances with my band and i've earned many valuable experiences in handling guitar. In my opinion, Ashton 131 is not as bad as many users had commented. I simply like everything about this little machine bacause it is not as heavy as other guitar is. The body style is simple and it let me play with full skills because of it's quite thin neck. I still used it as my second guitar, and it has never let me down if i need to use it instead of my 'most precious' Fernandes. I paid for it with favourable price, not expensive at all and it gave me satisfactions. It is not so expensive it is broken, stolen, lost, or something like that but i value my equipments so i take a very good care of my guitars. Fernandes or Ashton, it is just the same. With my Fernandes i will give it 9 stars out of ten but for Ashton, maybe 6 out of ten. But still, the only thing that will change the matter is the player's skills, the guitar's quality is only a bit of a wonderful song.

The features on the A-G 131 are great. its a completely durable guitar with only medium weight.

Tone buttons - useless. I heard a slight change in tone to say the least butotherwise an unchanged tone.

Body style is excellent. LIKE A TRUE CLASSIC ROCK GUITAR!

Built in tuner is brill and saves me hours in the long run.

Included accesories e,g, the dvd make me give it an eight.

Sound : 10
Awful fret buzz otherwise it sounds completely rock... im more of a blues fellow myself but sound is still up there with the best

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
pick ups well adjusted but the screws in the turning thing have all fallen out - not impressed.

Reliability/Durability : 10
excellent, just excellent.

Blue Strat style. Bought as package deal. One volume two tone and 5 way selector controls beginner so the rest is double dutch at present.

Sound : 1
This thing has bad sound on any setting.Very loud fret buzz could not be sorted due to neck twist.I am new to the guitar but realised this one was a mistake after 3 days.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Poorly built.

Reliability/Durability : 1
I think even a fault free one would have very short lifespan.Strap buttons rubbish strap easily falls off.

Customer Support : 10
Took it back after 1 week dealer wasn`t surprised told there had been others in the same week.Dealer very good took it back no problem so i bought les paul from him .

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Dont buy this ok its cheap but for very good reason for 20 quid more you can pick up a squire strat etc. If your`e a beginner like me you need to look at the ??200 -??250 you wont get anything worth learning on for much less.

This guitar was probly made in early 2006, i bought it with the starter pack. It has the same body as the strat copy but no scratch-plate. S/S/H configuration with 1 volume 2 tone knobs and a 5-way switch, pretty much your basic strat copy. It has a whammy bar which I don't use because it can't hold tuning when i use it. The body is basswood which is pretty good for a guitar at this price.

Sound : 5
I like to play alot of rock/grunge but sometimes I play some blues. I play it through a Roland cube 15 which actually makes the distortion sound quite good ecspecialy when using the humbucker. I personally like the clean tone better when i play with just the single coils. i've noticed though that the tone knobs make almost no difference to the sound, i think it may just need some soldering, so thats something i need to check-out.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
This guitar has low action, really low, I think I may actually need to raise it a bit because I get way too much fret-buzz. The pick-ups seem well adjusted. As i said before, some wires may need to be re-soldered.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I think this guitar would be able to do a few gigs, but you'd probably end up smashing it on-stage. If I wanted to keep this guitar for really long I would definatly get rid off the standard pick-ups. I've noticed a little spot where the finish has dulled because I always rest my arm on that spot when I play sitting down. If i had a back-up guitar I would take it to all gigs, but I only play small venues so it really wouldn't matter that much if I couldn't play the gig.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
I've been playing 2 years now, before I played rock I was playing blues on my acoustic. If this guitar was lost or stolen I would just step up to the next guitar I plan on getting, a squier jagmaster.

all the stats are in the last review
though my particular model is in green stain
has no pick guard
but it does have a horrible tremolo system which i just dont use anymore cause its so useless
case lead practise amp included as it was bought in a package deal

Sound : 2
i play alot of soft rock mainly but i also try out pretty much every other style on it, ska to punk to metal even to classical (which doesnt sound good might i add)
its produces its fair share of feedback with a dark sound to it
works best with a fare amount of distortion
has a heavy sound even with only using amps gain
like its range from twangy and sharp on humbucker to extremely mellow when u combine the two single coils
howecver disslike its lack of variaty
it has about 3 different sounds, the two at either end and a middle groud. so though it has range its hard to find a perfect sound u need with just the right amount of each.
also the humbucker actually makes the notes oscilate at high fretting
this shows just how bad the pick up is, thats why im replacing it with a better pick up.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
very solid and well put together machine. beautiful action best ive played (ive never played anything better than an epiphone and a fairly average fender strat) tone knobs came loose so diy job to fix them in place and also ive just knocked the lead plug wires loose so resoldering needed however ive had it for more than 2 years and its stayedin good nick for that long, its very well put together and solid. bridge is awsome for not snapping strings, so much better than les paul and other styles tha snap strings just lilke that.
ive wanted to get rid of the guitar for ages but i havnt been able to as i love the action and fretboard feel of it too much, its so easy to play. the sound is all tha lets it down.

Reliability/Durability : 7
durable to the days, haha its pretty solid with only minor repairs from DIY needed so far. its not totally dependable and would prefer having a back up for gigging but i would use it without a backup if i had to.

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A

Overall Rating : 5
first and only electric. sound is horrible mainly because of the humbucker but if u replace this then it becomes a usable guitar,
about as good as a sammick id say cept fretboard jsut lovly to play with. stays in tune very well but in saying all that if it was stolen i would definatly opt for somthing else.

The AG131 is made in Australia and has a 22 fret neck.
The guitar is a solid top .The guitar the guitar has a 5 way selector, dual tone knobs and voloume knob .the pickups are a humbucker and 2 single coils (ashton made).the finishes are balck, red (stain i think)
and blue. THe body of the guitar is a strat . Tremelo bridge which sadly goes out of tune quickly. thin maple neck. and depending on how you purchase it it may come with a gig bag

Sound : 5
The guitar suits my style of playing fairly well i generally try to play something crazy (eg Jimi Hendrix) or some soft rock (eg led zeppelin) i use a wah wah and a distortion peddle noramilly whil using it. the guitar does produce feedback if you are being stupid but that happens with all guitars really. the sound is a little tinny but depending on waht pickups your using it should be fine. the guiar has a fair variety of sound theough i liked the higher sound it preoduces. it has a very distinctive sound which is good and bad

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the guitar is well set up in my opnion. the pickups are well adjsuted a seem right. the routing is not perfect but still good but not worth going out and getting fixed because it is minor.the guitar seemed fine all round the finish is nice though may have a minor flaw apart from that it is beautiful.

Reliability/Durability : 7
The guitar seems pretty sturdy and will withstand a fair betting before going out of tune. the hardware looks sturday thought the chrome may appear damaged as wear occurs. the finish appears sturday but mistreatmesn will wear it away. the strap buttons unless yanked are likely to stay in. the guitar seemed like it wouldnt die quickly or wear down to apoint where repairs are needed quickly. i qouldnt use it on a gig without a backup but that is just my opinion

Customer Support : 7
there is a registory 1 year warranty on the website

Overall Rating : 10
