Les paul copy with slight stylistic differences. Looks as good as my mate's genuine Gibson only that the Aslin Dane is better finished!

Sound : 10
Good thick sound. It can rock or it can jangle using the effects box

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
This guitar was one of the first batch into the UK and was bought by the dealer from the NEC. It has a smooth fretboard and as a bonus a "slash" acros the top which can only be seen from a certain angle. Possibly a fault but it looks great.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've been playing this guitar regularly for 2 yrs and it has only needed a dry joint re-soldering. I look after the beast and it seems well able to last the gigging course

No need to yet.

Ive got several guitars and am at present in love with my flying vee but this one will stay in the stable. Several Gibson players both amateur and professional have played it and like it. They won't admit that it's as good as the Gibbo but all are impressed!!

I love everything about it and if it were nicked i would buy another asap, the only change i made was adding a seymour duncan distortion in the bridge to add a little nastyness

Like all Aslin Dane guitars, this is made in Korea. The top appears to be Maple, and has a gorgeose cherry sunburst. The mody alsom appears to be made of Maple, or at least some light colored wood. Unlike a Gibson Les Paul. it is not mahogany. The neck is maple with the superphrenol fingerboard that is common to all Aslin Dane guitars. It looks and feels like ebony.

There are some cosmetic differences. The upper bought curves inward, unlikethat on the Gibson which is perpendicular ti the neck. The heel on the neck is carved to match the curvatire of the bouts. A very cool design both from an aesthetic and practical point iof view.

The guitar has two humbucking pickups, and a standard Les Paul type stop tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge.

This guitar is solid all the way through. The same company makes a chabored model that looks the same but is lighter and according to the literatire, more mellow sounding.

Sound : 10
This is an all purpose guitar that can be used for just about anything. The neck pickup give a warm tone that is not as mellow sounding as a hollow body, but is mellow enough. The bridge pickup has a brigher sound more suitable for rock or country. When played through a distortion pedal, the guitar screams. I compared it to a Gibson Les Paul Custom with Seymour Duncan pickups, and the Gibson was a little louder and punchier, but I'm sure then Duncan pickups had a lot to do with that. In terms of playability, the two were identical.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Like the 335 copy I bought previously, this guitar was perfect, right out of the box. It needed absolutely no adjustments of any kind. I saw no flaws of any kind either.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't had the guitar long enough to abuse it yet (give me time) but it seems rock solid. I would definately use this on a gig with no backup.

I've been playing since 1960. I own about 30 instruments including Fenders, Gibsons, Gretsches, Music Mans (Music Men?) etc, This guitar, along with my 335 copy from the same company are among my very favorites.

I am totally sold on this company. They make fantastic instruments at low prices that care as good as, if not better than guitars costing 3 and 4 times as much. Next year I'm going to buy their 175 copy.
