I have a 2002 USA, 24 fet, solid top, trans blue, machined finish hardware yadda yadda yadda
Looks wise, verry similar to the steve morse musicman,
(good start)
Feel and construction (woods used) very similar to a Peavey wolfgang EVH (Also Good)
I have it in a room with my mates eddies, les pauls, ibanez jems etc. and they pick it up from time to time which is a good indicator seeing the company its in
I have a gibson nighthawk and a satriani ibanez which are a thorough joy to play but after those 2 the next one i pick up is my Dane, love the neck - fast, comfortable, well balanced, easy on the shoulders (Not too heavy) the only change i've made is a seymore duncan in the back, nice and grunty mixed with the bright Basswood and maple (nice harmonics). Can see a machine head change in the future.
All round alot of fun to play, let your mates play whatever give it an 8/10, lost one point because it is a cheaper guitar and one point coz the pickups lack a little punch, possibly personal preference who knows.
but yeah 8/10, like it
p.s. too lazy to fill all boxes, sorry

2001 Korean made Alsin Dane. The previous reviewers have given the specs, I'm sure these are all pretty much the same. Mine is the blue color model which I wasn't so happy with at first, but have gotten used to. Its not the left handed model but I didn't feel like starting a new category.
The fretboard is that superphenol stuff and works well. And I love the feel of the back of the neck. Lightly varnished (?), so you can still feel the wood. Just feels nice each time I pick it up.
Has a tremelo and I have tightened the adjustment screws so that I can only lower the notes, not raise them, and it stays in tune pretty well. If I press the bar all the way down to the body of the guitar it will lose its tune.
The pickups are AD designed and work quite well. The single coils are a bit noisy but appear to be set in a hum cancelling configuration since if I run both of the single coils together I get much less hum than just using one. The humbucker is hot and powerful, perhaps also a bit noisy.
The one volume and one tone pot control all of the pickups in whatever configuration. They work very well and allow great control over the sound/tone.
Guitar came with a cheap gig bag.
It has the features it needs, and I find it has pretty decent quality.

I play a bit of "classic" rock, a tiny bit of country, a bit of this, a bit of that. Single coil noise as described above. I find it to have a rich/full sound.
I like the sound (especially considering price).

I'm not sure about its set up at the factory in Korea, but I believe Aslin Dane sets up all there guitars (including the imports) at the shop in New York before they are sold. This guitar was set up very nicely when I received it. I understand that this thing was a factory second or new old stock, so its price was much lower. Aslin Dane's Les Paul and 335 copy models command more of a price than this model, but this model appear to engoy the same quality as the other ADs.
I do not believe you are going to go into a major music store and come out with a guitar of this quality for $135.
If it has a flaw I'm still looking for it.
Inside the bridge adjustment compartment the guitar is not "finished." There are globs of finish material which were not wiped or sanded off. I really couldn't care less, but if you paid big bucks for the guitar this would be unseemly.

It seems dependable. Since I've only had it 6 months I do not believe its appropriate to rate this category though.
This IS my backup guitar.

This company has some of the best customer support I've experienced. I e-mail with questions and I get a return e-mail from the VP usually the next day with detailed responses/suggestions and none of that "quit wasting my time" vibe. Very friendly.

I've been playing for three years, bass for another few years before that. My overall rating (as are all my ratings in this review) is heavily price dependant. For $135, I'd be hard pressed to find a better guitar. Many of the Brian Moore guitars are made in Korea have a price of $1000 or more. If I'm paying that kind of money the guitar better be made in the USA.
And if you consider the pieces of junk the major music retailers sell for $135, this thing represents a fantastic value.
Of course there are better guitars out there. I own a Washburn USA Custom shop WMS which I prefer to the Alsin Dane. But I had to pay a bit more for the Washburn.
I believe the AD is a great starter or backup guitar.

It is Korean made, not sure what year, with 24 frets. It has a single single hummer configuration with two tone and one volume knobs. It plays like a dream, better than a lot of other guitars I've played and I spend endless hours in music stores playing guitars I can't afford. The superphenol fretboard let's you fly over the strings with such ease, puts wooden ones to shame. I fell in love with this guitar the first time i tuned it and played it. For the price there is none better. For twice the price ther are plenty comparable but the Aslin Dane would still be my favorite.

I play a lot of chord blues (blues traveler type music) and the guitar works beautifully. It is also extremely versatile and sounds awesome with that twinge of distortion that I love so much when playing slide guitar on it. Again, the fretboard makes it all so easy, and it's action is really low. I don't usually play around too much with tone, but in all honesty the few times I have there's not too much difference just from the knob, you realy have to play around with the 5-way switch to get the variety, but there is a decent one there. If sustain is your thing, this guitar has it in abundance. Once I kick in the disto I can hit the low e and it will hold until i get tired of hearing it and have to mute it (well maybe not quite that long, but still).

I didn't get the guitar from a factory, so I can't really vouch for how it came from them. It still has the original pick ups which sound great with little unwanted fuzz. The action is extremely low and that combined with the fretboard (if you haven't guessed this is my favorite feature on this guitar)makes fast play extremely easy. The finish is a stunning transparent red and has no flaws in design. By looks alone this is one awesome guitar.

I bought this guitar off of eBay, it got shipped to me UPS and surived without a scratch. I have played several live gigs with it and it has yet to let me down. I moved recently and the guitar got banged around in the process. I brought it out at a hotel i was staying at and it was still in tune. This guitar can hold it's own easily, the only back up I need with it is my acoustic electric!

I haven't had the need to try and get the guitar repaired, but I have looked at the Aslin Dane website to try and find my next guitar there. It took the guys a little while to get back to me with a quote, but the quote they gave me was very thorough and they explained everything they were charging for. Response time takes them down a couple points, but they make up for most of it by making the responses worth waiting for. They even recommended dealers for additional gear for the guitar should I need repair items (tuners, strap pegs, etc).

I have been playing guitar for about 4 years now, and I have owned everything from a Fender Strat to an Epiphone and this guitar remains my favorite above them all. I would honestly cry if I lost this guitar or it was stolen. The next day I would email the Aslin Dane guys and have them send me a new one! I love the way the back of the neck is glossed just perfect for sliding your hand up and down it, and as I have mentioned several times, I love the superphenol fretboard. It makes the guitar play sooooooo easy. The only thing I dislike is the strap that came with it, but I bought it off of ebay so I really didn't expect much, the strap isn't a fault of AD anyway, though. I usually rely on Harmony Central when testing out non-popular guitar names, but I took a chance on the AD and it paid off tremendously. Ofcourse if you're used to playing a Gibson, this guitar isn't going to blow it out of the water, but it will definitely hold its own. Playing this guit is nothing short of blissful.

I believe this model was made in Korea.
Basswood body and Superphenol fingerboard work together pretty well.
Controls like a Strat work as they should.
Bridge is their own Vintage tremolo type which has alot of body contact and decent tone.

This guitar is my prime backup to a Gibson Les Paul Standard (lefty)
I would never use it as a stage axe but it has severd me well as a backup when I have broken strings playing gigs.
Cant compare the tone or quality to my Les Paul but it kept me playing when I needed something and I cant complain about its quality....not the best but it gets me through and had people asking about it once off stage. Nice and light, which is a relief after playing on stage with a Les Paul.

Finish is decent. Antique Natural Sunburst looks very beautiful in light but on stage looks plain black.

Hasnt failed me yet.....but I dont consider it rock solid in durability. Woods are soft and clearcoat is soft as well.

Well since it has gotten me out of serious binds live, I have to praise this guitar. If it were my only guitar, id have to rate it differently....not the kind of quality you want out os a gig guitar but does serve its purpose if youre just looking to play with in the garage.
I use it with a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Amp and it does well due to the amount of gain I use. When ive hooked it through my Marshall JCM-800 thats when the true quality of the guitar comes out. It shows that its not very well made because it doesnt perform. But again, as my prime backup it has done well. In fact I just got the Aslin Dane Cidera Lefty (SG copy) to replace this one just because I wanted to have an SG type guitar as a backup.
I wont get another if its lost or stolen but im not inclined to sell it either.
