I was looking for a ES-175 type body to customize making financial sense. Whala: the guys at David Burns Musical Instruments in Farmingdale,NY did it! I have the AslinDane Jazzking,BUT I had the humbuckers removed before delivery, ( and the supplied buckers sound great for stock pickups, equivalent to Gibson 57's !). I had 2 Rio-Grande P-90 Bastards installed. Also I removed the stock tailpiece, and installed a heavier tail exactly the one used by Gibson on the ES-135 semi ( I have one of those too). Between that alone and having a graphite nut ( for 12 gage strings), and the stock-Schaller-like tuning heads, and the stock(yet miraculously supplied) saddle made of rosewood, same material as Gibsons on the full depth jazz boxes, which complements the warm tone for blues and jazz is nothing less than an added gift! I also changed out the knobs for the Gibson-like large gold speed knobs.( All-Parts.com) it adds class to the black-tobacco finish. The fact that I passed on an Epi es-295 and waited for a chance to build a superior, yet affordable guitar that even comes w/ maple-sides ( which blows off alot of standard feedback of the deep-depth-jazzbox, standard of Gibsons, Epi's), means it can be driven louder and not squeal like a pig. By the way , if your wondering, these P-90 bastards by Rio Grande are unbelievably quiet for single-coil pickups...much unlike any Gibson, Fender, Duncan P-90.

For jump blues, west coast swing, if you have the chops, or are learning them now.., this will be like driving a 59 caddy convertible....very cool. W/ the P-90's I mentioned, If you like p90's this will make a BIG DIFFERENCE
Warning, if you want the sounds of SRV, and who doesnt, or your a KWS-cloneboy ...this again isnt for you...go get the strat instead.

RELIABLITLY AND DEPENDABILITY.....as good as any Gibosn or Fender...and I have both!

Got it w/ a ltd. lifetime warranty....and their biz depends on word of mouth....you know theyre gonna back it up bigtime at David Burns Instruments. and by the way, I dont work there nor do I have any invested interests w/ them.

I been playing 30+ years very active on the scene...I also play Fender Tele Broadcaster, Strat customized w/ Rio-Grande MUY Grandes Single Coils, w/ mini-toggle bypass from Stewart-McDonald for super-strat setup ( look into it...SRV would have been proud)...Gibson ES-135 /w P-100 stacked -buckers..
