Features : 9
This guitar is also known as the Austin Rock Standard

Made In China? Accordingly thats where these guitars are made, but I honestly don't know, nor where to find it on my guitar.
22 fret Rosewood Fingerboard
its a Solid top and takes the shape of a superstrat which cuts are sharp, and not dull
One Volume Pot, one Tone Pot, and a 3-way (Rythm, Treble, both)
Pickup Configuration: Humbucker Bass (Neck/Rythm) Humbucker Treble (Bridge)
Both humbuckers are unknown make and name
Passive Electronics
Body wood: Ash Neckwood: Hard Maple
The finish is Transparent, and accordingly "blue" but it's more of a greenish bluish tint, that looks black under roof lights, but looks teal under sunlight
the Bridge is a Tune-O-Matic with stop tailpiece
Tuners are an unknown brand and are diecast nonlocking
the neck is thin and is a bolt-on
The "Austin" logo is a pearl inlay in the head, and I'm assuming the inlay dots are the same
the truss rod is in the head, and has a cover over it
the nut is plastic, and black.. so um.. yeah. it's kinda fragile, and mine has a crack in it horizontally through the
and I bought it used, so there were no accessories.

everything that is metal is chrome plated, except for the frets. hah.
there isn't really anything too special about this guitar, excpet for the head design, or actually tuner placement, which allows for straight strings and needs no trees. but it is angled.

I'd rate 10, but there some things about this guitar that are unknown completely, so I can't really be too sure.

Sound : 10
I play pretty much everything from rock to jazz (or am starting jazz) and it suits me fine.

I'm not really using any specific amp with it, and sometimes use distortion, reverb, or wah-wah with it. I also plug it up through a Marantz Stereo Reciever in my house instead of an amp because its what I already had, and is cheaper than buying a new amp, since the places I play in and at already have amps for me to use.

It isn't particularly noisy on any settings, you might want to play around with the humbuckers lift em and lower em to your own preference.

The sound is Mellow, but full, which is perfect for me.

Sounds the guitar can make.. well.. um.. Iono you can tap on it.. I guess you could try and use it as a drum.. or a xylophone or something... otherwise.. it sounds like a guitar..

I like the sound of it a lot. I personally prefer the sound of a Les Paul, but thats a matter of money and choice, this does me perfectly well for it's price, quality, and trustworthiness

there's not much I dislike about it..

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
well I'm not aware of the stock action, because I bought it used..
that goes with pickup adjustment.
the bridge was fine, and there weren't too many flaws. only flaw I had was the action/neck relief was a little low, so I got a little buzz, but I didn't want to do anything to it yet. but I got some new strings, that are higher guage and are ribbonwound, and it doesn't buzz anymore. because my first set of strings were I think .42-.09.. and they were really loose.

actually, when I bought it, it had all the factory 'shielding' tape on the back of the tuners, electronics plate, and the trussrod cover.

Reliability/Durability : 9
it will withstand live playing, the hardware have lasted fine, the finish has lasted fine, no thinning at all, and there is no pick cover, wether it be external, or built in like those of the strats and teles
strap buttons are fine, not locking, but I haven't had any problem with straps coming out
I can depend on it fine, except for one thing, since I was using .09 Hihg E's, they've been popping at the bridge because it was a little too sharp for the string, but I sanded it down a little and they don't pop so often anymore. for safety I did that with G, B, and E bridges and tuners.
I would definately take this to a gig without a backup, but I would bring some extra strings just in case.

Customer Support : No Opinion
HAven't dealt with it at all.
warranty is a year I think.
I repaired it myself... so I mean.. yeah..

Overall Rating : 10
I haven't been playing very long actually.. maybe a year tops. I plan to purchase a Les Paul once I have the money, probably just one of those such as the Agiles, which are cheap, but keep a good reputation

something I wish I had asked.. I'd have to say, "Why doesn't this shop carry any other Austin's?" Because I miss the vibrato arm (whammy bar) that my friends squier strat has, and the Rock Pro and the Rock Deluxe both have 'em.
If it were stolen or lost, well if it were, I prolly wouldn't have enough money anyhow, but if I did, I prolly wouldn't be able to, because it was used, and its list price is rather pricy..
what do I love about it.. hmm... I love how it eats away my friends strat, I love the finish, and I love the guitar. I don't hate much about it, and my favorite feature is prolly the finish, very attractive.
I've compared to a Fender Stratocaster with the dual humbuckers, and the neck on the strat was too thick (it was thin, but thick), I also compared it to this Stagg guitar.. but the fingerboard was like sandpaper.. something funky about it.. or like chalkboard... I chose this guitar because I loved the color, shape, and the frets aren't 'sharp edged' ad with the strat.
I wish it had a vibrato arm, preferably the Floyd rose and maybe some Anti-Dust thing on the finish. because It picks up dust like a dust bunny, but that's probably just my house.

if you ever see this guitar in the shop for 150 or less, buy it, you won't be depressed about it.
