Suppose it is freshly made in 2003 since the silver series has been deputed this year. Korean made gutar. I guess for the price I paid, it should be a laminated Mahogany sides and back. Solid spruce top, comes with Fishman Prefix on-board preamp. The guitar body is finished glossy but the neck is satin so you will see a dividing line somewhere on the neck near 12th frets.
It is a small jumbo sized guitar, fitted with chrome grover tuners, neck profile feels and reminds me of Lowden guitars.
The guitar did not come with Avalon case - I bought it in London while I was on way to Prague, so I needed to buy a second Olson case for taking it with me on the plane. Lack of a case for this guitar is a great minus, but my Olson case is tweed and looks very cool to me.

Sound : 7
Originally I was looking for Lowden or Irish made Avalon guitars. They are very expensive.
They have a big sound due to body size and depth. This is good for fingerstyle with very good bass.
Acoustically, this is not bad especially it is indeed very good among all the Korean guitars I've played. The main complaint is with the pickup, there is some sort of booming sound coming from low E string when I plug it to an amp. There is also erratic response from low E when I pressed the bridge.Suspect that it is due to poor installation of under the saddle PU.
The sound is typical mahogany - good separation and big bass. It's bit dark but mid-rangy when compared to other mahogany guitars I played - a Taylor LKSM or 510.
I think the PU reflects poor quality control by the factory. So 8 for guitar acoustic and -1 for electronics.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
"Fair" action. If you expect sort of Taylor type necks, you'll be disappointed. It's more like a Lowden and could be quite high actioned. Adjusting the truss rod may help but cannot help very much as it is more related to the bridge height and neck alignment with guitar body. So it is imperfection here.
I like the gloss finish. It's very good for guitar of this prcie range.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I bought this in July 2003 and so far it's working alright.

N/A since I don't need this so far

I have been playing this for 2 months. I have other guitars which cost at least double or triple of its price. In terms of price/performance, it is #2. My #1 is Maton.
I have compared side by side to a Irish Avalon, the difference is not justifying a 500 pounds difference.
This guitar is good for blues fingering and strumming and not bad for the price I played. Of course, I would be happier with better PU.....
I would recommend this to other players who need a budget guitar with PU and preamp.

This guitar sounds unlike any Korean-made guitar I've ever heard. Sounds amazingly like an all solid wood guitar. The mahogany/spruce combination of this guitar is bright with strong projection. There are a lot of laminated back and side guitars with solid tops made overseas. The Avalon Guitar Company (formerly Lowden) has really fine tuned the internal bracing pattern in conjunction with body size, shape and depth to defy the fact that laminated wood is used on the back and sides.....good job guys!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Action was a little high for my liking out of the box, but a minor truss rod adjustment with the included allen wrench got me where I needed to be. Fretting was actually very nice for a production guitar. The quality of wood seems very nice. Although not absolutely perfect, the gloss finish gives a nice, professional appearance. The satin finish on the neck is just what the Doctor ordered....Avalon should do the same on their Gold Series Guitars. Overall, has the appearance and playability of a much more expensive guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 8
The industry-standard Fishman electronics will weather live playing. The finish on the guitar seems good enough to not worry about it wearing off. The jack on the bottom of the guitar is one thing I would change on the Silver Series. It's cheap. Overall, I would feel comfortable gigging with this guitar with no backup.

No experience with this yet.

I have been playing seriously for about 6 years. I have owned 3 Taylors, a Lowden, 2 Goodalls, 1 Seagull, 1 Alvarez, 1 Dean. I compared this guitar to, and chose this guitar over Takamine, Alvarez and Seagull. If it were lost or stolen, I would absolutely replace it. You can't beat it for the money..excellent VALUE! I'll say it again, it looks and sounds like a much. more expensive guitar.
